9. Ex-lover Hannel

As far as I could tell he was a guy who was always gloomy, in a bad mood and irritated quickly. Behind him was Franklin who had seen the whole short scene and put his hand on my shoulder smiling.

"Did he say it was his letter?"

Franklin nooded his head affirming.

"Who would write a love letter to a rigid person like him"

"He detached it from his girlfriend's diary."

"Ah yes his great love lost because of me!"

"While he still keeps that letter, it means that there is hope, he never stopped loving y.. ,her."

We were all sitting in a circle inside the room listening to Franklin as he did the splitting of the pairs that would guard the night shift. Only I was not part of the shifts.

"I want to participate too."

"Tara better to rest this time, next time." Franklin spoke to me as if I were a child.

"Anyway I don't think I will be able to sleep, put me in one of the first shifts, I can be with Merida."

"It will not happen!" Gideon intervened.

"Why ? Or don't you trust me that I will protect you and you will not sleep because of fear?" I turned to Gideon laughing ironically.

"Well then you will be on shift with me." He continued stern as always.

"I want to be with Merida." I wanted very much to be with Merida not only to oppose him, but from Merida maybe I could find out things they didn't tell me.

"All right you will be on shift with Merida." Franklin decided as Gideon looked at him savagely and got up to leave the room.

After dinner they all lay down, Aurea near Gideon, why the hell my eyes went to him. Merida and I went out of the room to stand guard.

She was a very approachable girl who couldn't hold herself from hugging me from time to time.

"Merida I will ask you something, I want you to tell me the truth because from what I saw only you look as if we were close."

"We were very close, so bad you do not remember."

"I want to know about the boyfriend they say is dead."

"I can not tell you anything, if Franklin finds out I will have a bad time."

"He will not find out, I wont tell anyone. If you really have been my friend and continue to be, you have to help me. They are messing with me, once they say something, then something else. I do not know what to trust or whom to trust."

"I'm sorry Tara, but I can not, the only thing I can tell you is that very soon if we are lucky you will remember everything."

She smiled sweetly at me as I exhaled.

"I'm going out to get some air. I started to get out of the building."

"Don't go too far."

It was a little cold, but my head was blurry no one was telling me anything as it was.

That's what I remember and the next moment I wake up on a red sofa near the fireplace. I had a little headache.

Sitting in front of me was someone dressed in dark green with some ocean eyes.

"Welcome back Tara." He smiled sweetly at me.

"Who are you?"

"Hannel. Apparently the words are true, you remember nothing."

"What do I do here? Franklin…"

"Ah yes Franklin and the flock that follows the shepherd like sheep, they will surely have realized that I kidnapped you and will be looking for you."

"Kidnapped? Why?"

"First you have to taste the melted chocolate, it's warm as you like it."

"How do you know how I like it?"

I saw the sun-shaped necklace with the black strip hanging around his neck.

"Who are you?"

"Someone who knows you very well and loves you very much. And you do not remember me."

"Are you the boyfriend that Gideon said was dead?"

-Gideon told you that your boyfriend was dead? Interesting." He laughed in surprise.

"Ok what is going on here? What is the truth, why did you erase my memory?"

"That's what Franklin and his son told you, normally convenient."

"The son?"

"Didn't they tell you that Gideon is Franklin's son?"

"No."

"Ah my Tara, ah how many untrue things have been said. Who knows what their goals have been."

"To bring me back the memory and the powers I supposedly had lost because I resurrected Gideon."

"What was not invented in their minds. Now you are safe here."

"I do not know you either, I do not remember you."

"I will tell you everything, but first calm down and get ready for dinner, I will introduce you to some people who can not wait to meet you."

"I want you to tell me everything now. What difference do you make from Franklin when you say later, later?"

"OK . You have had no magical powers, none of us have. Neither of them."

"What about portals, the tree?"

"Technology has advanced a lot. We kind of grew up together and fell in love, but Gideon became obsessed with you and the father fulfills every whim of his son. So through that boy they have with them, the one who knows how to use technology, erased your memory to convince and manipulate you as they please.

"You knew everything, why didn't you come to me? Why didn't you tell me everything?"

"I found you now and I took you from them to tell you everything."

"You had to wait for them to find me? You did not know where I was all this time?"

"No , my Tara, I did not know where they had hidden you, and had saved you for their mission!"
