6. A Coincidence

Laney....

This day has taken a totally interesting turn. I finished my breakfast on the table where Rose and her friends were seated.

Oops! Sorry. I can't say it like that anymore because from today they are my friends too. And I am happy, very happy.

I pushed the chair and got up from the seat and took the empty plates to hand it over to Mrs. Blake.

"Let's go then. It's almost 10. And I don't want to miss today's lecture." Rose said enthusiastically.

As I was handing the plates to Mrs. Blake, when my phone started ringing and my caller ID showed that it was Sam. I received it on the 3rd ring.

"Hey, Laney. What's up?" He asked me.

"Nothing. Just getting off my part-time." I said him thinking what he was up too.

Actually, I have never met anyone like him. He is very easy-going and friendly. He is kind of extrovert. And the most weird part is, I have only met him once.

Oh, sorry. I have met him twice if we count yesterday's meeting. Hmm, not actually meeting, I met him as my colleague.

It was utterly shocking. That a handsome man like him was working as a Steward. But it was fun working with him and I also got to know many things from him which I didn't know, it would be helpful while working their.

The manager said that he was someone who was working their for almost 3 years now. And he was on a leave for personal reasons when I joined.

Because, really, I thought, was he stalking me or something? I mean, I remembered him from my 1st class but never saw him again. And let me tell you, he is too handsome to be forgotten. And the way he was speaking it was like he is good with women, I mean, in that way. So, I thought maybe.

" Umm.......... Actually, Laney. Can you bring a coffee for me? I will pay for it. You know it's too late to come out and get a coffee for myself. And I remember, you told me last time that you was a part-timer in a nearby cafe." He said hesitantly.

"Okay. But where should I meet you in the campus." I asked him.

"I told you yesterday, don't you remember." He said with smile in his voice.

I totally forgot that he told me yesterday that he wanted me to introduce to his friends today. I said "oh, ya, I remember, exactly outside our class, right?"

"Right." He replied.

"Okay, then. I'm hanging up." Before he can say anything I hung up.

I took his coffee and left with Rose and his friends. I apologized for making them wait for me. And said them about this stupid friend of mine. They laughed and continued towards my class. As I remember only Rose is from literature major. So, why other's were following? Maybe, they wanted to see Rose off before they left for their class.

But curiosity took over me. Before, I can stop myself I was asking them "Don't you have class today? Or coming to see off me and Rose?" I asked them wiggling my eyes at Peter, Meghan and David. Peter and Meghan were laughing loudly and David was looking at me with utter amusement. Oh, really, the way he looks at me, it sparked excitement inside me. And a shiver ran through my spine, which is really unexplainable.

Peter said on behalf of them "Hmm..... Actually, no. Do you remember while introducing us Rose said that there is one more who was missing."

"Umm...... Ya, I remember." I replied instantly.

"He said us, he wanted to introduce someone to us. So, he wanted us to meet, outside his class." He said explaining me.

"Lazy bump. Can't move his ass to further places." David said sarcastically. And Meghan hit him on his arm which made him "Ouch" and wince in pain.

"Why are you hitting me?" He asked turning towards her. She just shrugged in reply.

"It's really strange." I said and they looked at me in confusion. "I mean this stupid friend of mine-" I gestured to the coffee and continued "said the same."

"Wow! What a coincidence?" Meghan said smiling.

"Hmm." I agreed.

"Laney" First, I thought, my ears were ringing but again I heard someone calling me with much louder voice "L.A.N.E.Y". I turned to see who it was. And it was Alissa Stone. Whom I met in my other class last week.

I totally forgot about her. Because the weekends were really hetic. And it made me tired as hell to not even remember her.

But seeing her standing almost 30 feet away from me with her beautiful smile and her fucking as hell body. All the memories of her came back with full force. And it felt like a fucking truck hit me on my head with full force. I waved at her. Before walking towards her, I told them to go ahead and I will join them in minutes.

Let me tell about the day I met her. It was fun. She really made my day that day.

Flashback :

I still remember the day. Because it was the worst day of all. My head was pounding like hell. Like someone was hammering it with a huge and heavy hammer.

God! It was unbearable. All the work, lectures and studies were messing with my head. I was feeling tired and sleepy. It was like I haven't slept for years.

I was feeling dizzy as well. And I was not able to see anyone because my vision started to get blurry as well. In an instant, I collapsed and had no energy to stand up again.

Most of the students in the corridor saw this but made no move. Some mocked me, some stood frozen in place like I had some contiguous disease and if they helped they would get affected too. And some just walked away ignoring it like nothing has happened. But someone came to help me. I heard her faint voice "Are you okay?" before darkness surrounded me.

I woke up to the sounds of shuffling papers. I opened my eyes slowly and saw that I was in a room which looked like a hospital room and I sat up straight on the bed. Not knowing where was I?

I saw a beautiful girl, who was sleeping in an awkward position. I tried to get my ass off of the bed. But I was too tired to move. So, I looked around the room and saw a woman working on the computer in the far corner of the room.

She felt my eyes on her and looked up. "Oh, you are awake." She said with a smile on her face.

"Umm......... Ya. I guess." I said hesitantly.

She laughed and asked "So, how are you feeling?"

"I'm okay. But I'm feeling too tired." I said her.

"Hmm, I see. I think, you are over working yourself. You are way to exhausted than being tired. That means you are working hard without having your meal on time." She explained me the situation.

"Okay. But, can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Of course. Go on. I'm all ears." She replied with a big smile.

"Where am I and who this girl is actually?" I asked the last question pointing my figure to her.

"You are in the medical ward of the University and I'm Clara Devis the doctor of this ward. And she was the one who brought you in. Her name was..." She patted her chin with a figure in a thinking gesture, so, I assumed she was trying to remember her name.

"Ya, her name is Alissa stone." She said confidently and continued "she was waiting for you to wake up but in that process she fell asleep."

"How long was I passed out?" I questioned her.

"You were out for 4 hours, exact." My eyes widen at what she said.

I got out of the small hospital like bed immediately. And was about to leave when Ms. Devis stopped me on my tracks "You need rest. Forget everything for today and take a good rest. And don't leave without her. She'll be disappointed. Because she was the one who brought you here."

Ms. Devis shaked her slightly to wake her up. She slowly opened her eyes, as soon as her eyes landed on me she was on her feet and was infront of me within a minute. " Are you okay? Are you feeling good?" She asked concern lacing her voice.

Her concern felt warm and comforting. Which brought a big smile on my face. She looked at Ms. Devis for answers. She just nooded and went back to her work.

I cleared my throat to get her attention and when she was looking at me again I assured her that I was fine and good to go and thanked her as well with a tight hug.

She helped me to get to my room. And when we were inside my room she said she lives 3 doors ahead of mine from that day we became good friends.

Whenever, we got bored we enjoyed each others company without any shame.

Present :

She helped me to open up. And became my best friend in a short period of time, because opening up to someone is a really hard thing to do for me. I thank the heavens for blessing me with such an amazing friend.

As I was walking towards her I checked her out. She was short with honey blond hair which was up to her waist. She had soft and creamy skin. She had ember eyes with big eye lashes and also had a thick and luscious lips. She was beautiful in everyway.

She was wearing ripped shorts and a white blouse which was tucked inside her shorts.

And believe me when I say she looked hot. HOT AS HELL.

I hugged her tightly when I reached her. She had a big frown on her face when I backed away. Which made me ask......

"Why the long face, are you on periods?" I laughed at my own joke.

She hit me my arm and said "No, I am not. How can you forget me babe's? I really missed you. No calls, no texts." She said with a big frown on her cute face.

"Oh my, Oh my, I'm sorry. I was busy this weekend with extra shift."

"You are always busy. When are you gonna live, girl. Live a little." She huffed.

"Come on, stop being angry. Let me introduce you to my new friends. They are amazing." I told her and started to tug her with me.

"Really? Oh wow! Tell me, are there any Mr. Hottie, hmm? She squeaked with excitement.

"Hmm........ Maybe. Let's go if you want to find out." It is fun to see her this excited. Because since the day I have met her she made it very clearly that she is not a patient person at all. And believe me she is too curious about everything for her own good.

I started walking towards the direction I came from indicating her to follow me. She stomped her foot like a child and started to follow.

I saw them all standing and speaking to someone outside the enterence. I was not able to see who it was. And it spiked my curiosity a lot. As I neared them, I heard a familiar voice but I was not able to figure out who it belonged to.

I turned back to see if Alissa was following or not, that's when I heard someone call me "Laney!" with excitement. I turned back to find that the voice belonged to Sam.

"Hi. I am glad to see you. So, how are you feeling today?" I knew, this would his 1st question after last night. He did me a great favour by taking up my shift for me. I had a bloody headache which was unbearable. And if it wasn't for him, I would have collapsed the second time in a week.

"Hi. I am great. And here's your coffee." I said with a big smile and handed him his coffee.

"Woo, you guys know each other?" Peter asked with a surprised face.

"Yes and I wanted her to introduce you to all." Sam said warmly.

"Really? You mean, they are the friends, you wanted me to introduce to." I was surprised. Really!

"Ya, why?" He asked in confusion.

"Hmm..... Actually, I already met them through Rose. She is my roommate." I said clearing his confusion.

"Really? It's amazing." He says with amusement.

"But how did you two know each other?" David sounded furiously. It's like, he is not happy about me and Sam knowing each other.

"EXACTLY." And same goes with Meghan. She looks upset too. They look like someone has shit their pants without their knowledge.

"Both from literature major. Met in the class. And we work for the same place." He informed them in "Get your shit together before I lose it." tone.

"Ya, exactly nothing much." I told to calm them down.

Peter cleared his throat and said " Alright, let's not fight for such a silly thing, okay? And by the way, who is this with you?" He asked pointing towards Alissa.

"Uh... Sorry! I forgot to introduce her. She is my friend, Alissa Stone, from Designing major." I told them.

"Hi, everyone. It's a pleasure to meet the most popular and hot guys of our college together." She greeted them and they greeted her in return.

I have never seen a girl who can be these cheesy and cute at the same time. No wonder she is always able to impress everyone. But one thing that made me uncomfortable about her was, she is like a free spirit. She does whatever she wants or likes.

Like now she was shamelessly checking out Sam. I nudged her once to stop but it didn't affect her.

God! Help me, please. Rose was trying hard to suppress her laughter by seeing Alissa's audacious behaviour. But, Sam, on other hand was totally unfazed and a devilish smirk was there on his handsome face. And, here, I was getting embarrassed by every passing minute.

I mouthed sorry to Sam and took hold of Alissa and walked into the class after bidding my goodbyes to all of them.

She is a disaster but my friend too. And I know I won't regret this in future. This day has turned out to be the best day of all.

David....

I am really going to go crazy like this. I have met many girls in my past but no one was like her. She is like a warm sun in winter. Every thing of her attracts me to her. The feeling is magical. Something which I won't be able to express in words.

The knowledge that she knew Sam before me made me furious. He knows her much than I do. Oh God! What am I even thinking? I can't fall for her. It's a trap. I don't want to get trapped in those feelings again. Neither I want to get hurt. I know better than this.

"Earth to David" Peter said waving his hand infront of my face.

"WHAT?" I was too worked up by my own thoughts. Which made me furious without reason. Really, I should go and die somewhere.

"Hey, why are you shouting? I am not deaf, you know?" He said being displeased.

"Okay, I'm sorry. What is it?" I was not in the mood to have any conversation.

"Are you into her or something?" I can see he was really amused by his own question. He was smiling like a fucking person who won a lottery.

ASSHOLE

"WHAT? What are you talking about?" I pretended. It's good to pretend than answer this question. And I know very well, how it will be after I answer it. It. Will. Be. Hell. A real hell.

" Come on. Let's stop pretending and come clean." He is really a bitch.

"Shut up, Asshole. Stop getting delusional. You know it's not like that, right?" I wanted him to be quite. God, why me?

"The way you reacted when they told that they knew each other was exactly like a fucking lover. Who is losing his love to someone else." It made me look at him with cold expression which can freeze everyone here.

Really! Maybe not.

Because- "It's not working on me. And for your kind information I can guess such things very easily. Because you know Meghan behaves the same like you did today." I was going to tell that it was not working on him. You know, my cold expression. And it never works on him. I want to punch him right on his fucking face to shut him up.

"Stop denying." Ya, bitch I should. Thank god, the professor started the lecture which made it peaceful for me to bare and kept me from answering his delusional questions. It's not quite in here. But at least I won't have to listen to Peter's ridiculous delusions.

Why is this day turning into a worst nightmare? Man! I am fed up and tired. Is this how this year is going to be, shitty?
