Chapter 10: Press the button!

"Well hi there Kara and Lena" I spoke bitterly.

Kara sounded surprised as I mentioned her name. "You recognized me ?" She asked. "People rarely do..."

"Well ... duh, I'm not stupid. Though it's only now I realized that you're supergirl... I always thought she looked familiar though... The voice really gives it away." I answered.

"Y/n, you idiot why didn't you notice that earlier? We could've avoided shit like this! You've literally met up with Kara multiple times." Normani shouted. As I glanced over at her I saw she had knocked out one of the guards. She was ready to come over and pull Kara away from me, but I knew nothing would work against her.

"Don't even try, Normani. It's supergirl, you'll only get hurt. I forgot to turn on the gadget."I sighed, only Camila and I had a device on us to block supergirls powers. We never thought we'd need it today. Camila was fighting off another guard but I saw she had dropped her device and it had been kicked away towards the exit.

In the corner of my eye, I could see her tackle him to the ground and plant her heel into his back.

"Y/n, why do you always forget t..." Normani started.

"Whatever you're talking about, it's not important." Lena interrupted, bringing my attention back to her. She lifted my chin up so that I'd look her in the eyes. I felt a shiver run down my spine. "What's important is that I finally found y/n. After all this time. You can't imagine how long I've waited for this moment... years of it. I'm glad it's actually you y/n. I hoped it was you, because lately I've grown very fond of you."

"Why were you searching for me? I wasn't the only one who escaped Cadmus. I wasn't the only experiment either. What makes me so special? I was just a number there."

"You were not just a number. You were number 7, my number 7. My mother ruined everything, I was forced to ..."

" HIYAAAAAAAAAaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa" Right at that moment Camila let out a weird yell and threw her lucky banana at Lena's face. With a splat it hit her right between the eyes.

While Kara was startled for a moment I could get out of her grip and sprint away.

"YESSS TAKE THAT! COME ON!SHE'S DISTRACTED!! NOW" Camila yelled, running off towards where we came from and grabbing her device on the way there.

Mean, while Dinah was barking orders into my earpiece.

As Dinah said that Kara's face changed. Damn it, if she's really supergirl we're in a lot of trouble. The girls and I made a run for it, and as we ran up the stairs I heard Kara say something to Lena.

"I'll get her."

Suddenly she flew up in the air and dashed towards us, and that's when I realized it. Damn it..

Dinah! You need to get ready fast!" I spoke into the mic.

We all slammed the door towards the hallway shut, while we heard Kara trying to break it from the other side. Weirdly Kara couldn't breakdown the door... So Dinah's supergirl tool worked better than expected!

All of us ran towards the way we entered. The emergency exit. Luckily they didn't count on us being able to escape, so there weren't any extra guards there.

As we made our way outside a voice came out of the speakers.

"I'll find you y/n. Wherever you try to hide. Whoever helps you, or whatever you'll try. In the end you'll end up with me. Even after what she did to me. I still managed to find you. You can't escape your destiny."

Well shit. That didn't sound good, but for now, we were safe.

We ran trough the forest as fast as we could. Dogs were heard in the distance. As soon as all of us reached the van, Dinah sped off. 

We didn't immediately drive off to our own base. First, we had to make sure no one was following us.

"So how does Lena know you?" Normani asked me.

"I don't have a fucking clue, but it probably has to do with the Cadmus thing, because I can't remember everything." I answered.

"Maybe she was a victim of her mom too. She talked about her doing something before Camila threw that banana, which was a bold move by the way, but thanks mila." Octavia spoke.

"I told everyone, but no one believed me" Camila smiled.

"Yeah thankfully we had you, Camz, but what does Lena want with me? It doesn't make any sense..."

"There is a slight chance that she doesn't have bad intentions. I mean, maybe she knows about the effects... you know... maybe she knows you need help. I don't know y/n. She doesn't seem to like her mother either." Normani said.

"Then she's handling this situation pretty badly. She could've just explained herself to me if that was the case. Plus I'm not willing to take risks with her, I don't want to get through everything again. If I ask her to talk to me there's a chance I can get kidnapped, or in case of a phone call, get tracked down."

"Yeah. That's true, maybe we should investigate this ourselves. Maybe if we know why Lena wanted to find her, we can do something about it. Right now all we can do is hide, Lena has everyone in National city wrapped around her finger." Dinah answered.

"We can always start at the old cadmus base. Maybe there are answers there. Or more in Lena's office which now has more security, or wherever Kara lives..." Normani replied.

"Not the old Cadmus Base. I'm not going there. I don't even want to THINK about that hellhole." I spoke.

"We can always split up." Camila spoke up. "Some go to Kara's house, others to the base..."

"Split up??? Yeah Camila that's another GREAT idea." Dinah spoke sarcastically "Like throwing that banana... like what the fuck was that? I don't agree with Normani or y/n, that shit was stupid." 

"Hey! That was a great idea! I distracted her with that banana. Thanks to me we're all here." Camila pouted. "But now I lost my banana..."

"I'll go buy you some new ones once we get home, I need to get some fresh air after all of this. I'll take my earpiece, in case things go wrong I can turn it on. I'll stay in contact all the way to the store, besides it's only a 10 minute walk."

As I left the base, I walked towards the store 3 blocks away. I knew it was dangerous, but I had an idea. 

After 5 minutes there was a man following me. He matched my speed every-time I went slower or sped up. As I went inside the store noticed a security camera turning towards me. I made sure to put bananas in my bag, and a bit of other stuff.

After a while I felt metal press against my back.

"Don't try anything."

I swiftly turned around and kicked the gun out of the man's hands. I knew he wouldn't shoot, since Lena wanted me alive. He threw punches, but I dodged them all, and knocked him into a rack of soup cans.

Without hesitation I took the gun and ran off.

How? How could she slip right out of my fingers. I even had supergirl with me and I couldn't do anything? Not that i was afraid we wouldn't get her eventually. I was sure we would, our plans were just delayed.

Y/n has some smart person on her team, because it wasn't easy stoping Kara's powers. Those devices they carried, they were incredible.

"Ugh I nearly got them! We were so close." Kara said in frustration. "I don't even know how I could suddenly lose my powers."

"They got great technology, but we don't need tech to find her." Lena said. "I'm the most powerful woman in this city, and maybe one of the most powerful in this country. I have my ways." 

She wouldn't be able to hide anywhere. I had numerous undercover agents, a giant surveillance system spread around the city, and my own experiments that would all benefit me in my search for her.

"Miss Luthor!" Someone yelled barging in to my office. It was a big man with a huge mustache. The head of my security team.

"I hope the news is worth barging in my office like that." I answered coldly

"We have located her! y/n! and she's on her own."

what I was talking about. I couldn't help the grin that was spreading on my face. Oh y/n... you thought you could escape Maybe it works with my mother, but I'm not that easy.

"Take us there immediately." I told the man.
