Two Wrongs Make Trouble

Author Note: Finally the last chapter of pure dialogue is done! Never thought I would get tired writing plot but I guess so. Anyway, something big is happening in the next chapter so I hope you guys think it's worth the wait.

Since Rei disappeared for quite a bit both Haku and Zabuza were on guard especially when they saw Rei coming back. "Who are you?" Looking at Shisui who was walking slightly behind Rei it was clear Zabuza's question was directed towards him. Shisui gave off a similar presence as Haku as he introduced himself.

"I'm guessing you two are like me. My name is Shisui Uchiha." Hearing that name caused Zabuza to freeze up as he stared at Shisui wide-eyed. Rei noticed this and glanced back at Shisui. "I'm guessing you're quite impressive if Zabuza knows you." Shisui laughed slightly before Zabuza spoke.

"Well known would be a slight misconception. Shisui of the Body Flicker was from what I've heard one of the best the Uchiha had to offer. He was unmatched amongst his clan during his time with the only other person getting close being Itachi Uchiha." Hearing the clan name Uchiha again Rei narrowed his eyes.

'The Uchiha second time I've heard of that clan.' For as young as Shisui looks Rei didn't need anyone to tell him how talented he was. "I'm guessing you're wondering what you have to do to get me to join you." Mid thought Rei heard Shisui's voice exposing everything he was thinking.

"It's ok honestly everything you said has interested me. And just judging off the way you handle yourself you seem trustworthy, however…" That trailing word at the end got Rei to listen closely as Shisui explained something to him. "Even though you did bring me back I have a certain duty to my village and more specifically my Clan."

It was as he was speaking that Rei realized something. "Then I see no issue there. The Leaf and I have a fairly good relationship and unless they do something that goes against my Soul Society I'm not gonna start a conflict."

Hearing that Shisui relaxed slightly but soon Haku spoke up informing both Rei and Shisui. "I'm afraid the Uchiha Clan was slaughtered quite a few years ago." Rei looked towards Haku with widened eyes as Shisui's expression turned dark in shock. "Wait what? All of them?" Haku nodded guaranteeing it.

Memories of how his own clan was killed were enough to make him angry but he couldn't imagine how Shisui felt being revived only to hear they were slaughtered. Glancing over at him Rei saw a revitalized look of anguish on Shisui's face as he asked Haku a question. "Do you know who did it?" Haku thought for a moment but shook his head.

"No, although I try to keep a good memory of incidents in case they come into play during a mission there was nothing else." Shisui's gaze turned downwards as Rei looked over at him. "Well If I do remember correctly there technically is a survivor." Thanking God that he actually went to the Chunnin exams, Rei saw Shisui raise his head slightly. "Who?"

As these events took place a meeting had occurred days before Shisui was revived and met Rei. Having no safe locations inside of the Village or near its outskirts Danzo was forced to use abandoned underground locations that were created during the war. Deep within one of these abandoned underground bases was a dark room lit only by torches.

With a stone table in the center of the room, Danzo was sitting on one side of the table with two of his ROOT members on either side. 'It's hard to believe that it's been less than three days yet someone has already made contact with me about Rei. Who could it be…' As Danzo thought to himself he suddenly heard a ROOT member speak from behind the wooden door the only entrance and exit of the room.

"Lord Danzo, he has arrived." Danzo's eyes narrowed as he spoke. "Let him in." Opening the wooden door Danzo watched as the ROOT member moved aside and allowed the hooded figure to walk into the room. "I see that Rei hasn't only been causing issues for me. To imagine that you would be forced to this Danzo is depressing."

Hearing such a disrespectful comment the ROOT members next to Danzo were prepared to draw their weapons and attack. However, Danzo raised his hand causing them to stop. "Who are you?" Sitting down the hooded figure slowly reached up and pulled their hood off their head. Despite the deformities and lack of hair, Danzo could recognize him from his eyes.

"Kabuto…" Being in the full view of torchlight Danzo could hardly believe who he saw was Kabuto at all. His hair was all gone and his face was burnt to hell and back. Some parts of his body had to peel skin and others were simply burnt flesh. It was a horrifying sight to the point the only thing that remained of Kabuto's original appearance was his eyes.

"I know how unsightly I must look. Even now the pain I go through is…" Kabuto began to cough and grunt slightly before controlling himself. "Unbearable… Which is why I have come to you. To free me from this pain I feel every day I have come to make a deal with you." Danzo had to admit he was intrigued however he also did not fully trust Kabuto's words.

"And what could you possibly do in your state?" Looking at Kabuto he was clearly in no state to fight or do anything for that matter. However, expecting that kind of question Kabuto replied. "Though it took the time I have control over all of Lord Orochimaru's facilities and ninja. If you accept my help you will have the entirety of the Hidden Sound backing your every move."

While the ninja in the Hidden Sound was not the strongest they did have something special. They could be mobilized quickly and stealthily without any outside interference. Danzo thought about Kabuto's proposition. 'My ROOT along with the hundred's of Sound Ninja… It's tempting and the chances of it working increases.'

"Of course I also have two demands of my own." Hearing Kabuto, Danzo proceeded to move his hand in a gesture showing Kabuto could continue and so he did. "One before anything I want you to make Rei undo what he has done to me. Then I will help you take away his power if you so desire. And secondly, I want you to give me Sasuke Uchiha."

The first demand was simple enough and understandable however the second one made Danzo freeze in place while staring at Kabuto. "Oh don't act so surprised. Orochimaru has eyes and ears everywhere within the Leaf and now they belong to me. Despite our original recovery of him failing he still desires more than much is clear. And with Orochimaru gone, of course, you would swoop in and take him into your ROOT."

Closing his fist slightly Danzo knew Kabuto was speaking the truth. He had indeed been trying to entice Sasuke to work under him however it has been difficult. Without the ROOT being official he couldn't very well take him by force. He needed to convince him slowly if he wanted the last Uchiha to be under his control.

'I can't possibly hand Sasuke Uchiha to him. However, he doesn't need to know that. I'll use him to deal with Rei and with the Sound weak he won't be able to take him by force.' Both sides had their own plans however they didn't let that show. "Currently reports say Rei is not inside his walls. If we attack before he returns we can use the kids as hostages and force him to do what we wish."

Hearing Danzo's plan of action Kabuto turned his head to think for a moment before smiling. "Very well then however we will have to send our best. From what I am aware of, those kids managed to make multiple Jonnin and Chunin class ninja all at once." Danzo raised a brow hearing that and thinking back to the report he read. 'Brainwashing those kids and having them join my ROOT may be worth the effort.'

By the end of their meeting, both Danzo and Kabuto had shaken hands. "It's best we do it next week. If this information reaches one of the other Nations before we act we may lose our chance." Nodding agreement with Kabuto, the two of them stood up with Kabuto leaving first. "This has been productive. I will begin mobilizing the Sound Ninja I hope to hear from you soon."

Showing a cruel smile Kabuto left the room through the door he had come in from and soon his footsteps disappeared. "Orochimaru taught that boy well but his pain is causing him to make foolish decisions… No matter what, it only spells good for me." Danzo's eyes were full of ambition as he whispered to himself.

"Soon with that blade under my control the Leaf will prosper once again…" Shifting back to the present time Rei had informed Shisui about Sasuke and the events he was aware of when it came to the Hidden Leaf letting Haku fill in the blanks. "I see so things have been pretty bad?"

He had thought maybe the conflict in this era would have died down years after his death but that was not the case. Turning his head he looked at Rei with a solemn expression. "Rei I do appreciate you reviving me so that I could realize exactly the kind of unfinished business I had left in this world. I am willing to join you however I have a selfish request."

Hearing the words 'selfish' Rei felt as if he was looking in a mirror as Shisui said exactly what he expected. "I want your help finding whoever slaughtered my Clan. And I want you to help bring them down." With barely any hesitation to be found Rei nodded his head. "I promised I would do my best to help out whoever joined me and that includes you."

Hearing Rei's words of reassurance, Shisui was prepared to show his appreciation but stopped as he suddenly saw Rei sway for a moment. Catching himself, Rei almost like he was about to faint for a second there. "Are you okay?" Haku and Shisui were the first ones to take notice while Zabuza watched carefully.

"Uh…" Shaking his head Rei tried to examine exactly what was wrong with him. Examining his entire body both physically and spiritually he eventually found the issue which caused him to laugh. 'Well looks like I overdid it. I thought I would be able to keep four souls from fading before needing to return to the Soul Society but Shisui was a little more than I bargained for.'

His entire body was made of Reishi and he manipulated his own body to extract that Reishi and used it to keep all three of them from beginning to fade. But not Shisui had taken a lot more than Rei thought he would use and his body couldn't compensate. 'Forget one more Soul if this keeps up I might actually end up fading away myself.'

Trying his best to get himself together Rei snapped out of the constant daze he was going into. "So there's a change of plans. We're going to have to head back sooner than expected. I was hoping to gather people by fours before returning and head back each trip but I pushed myself a bit too far." Listening to Rei, all three of them got a basic understanding of what he meant.

Although they didn't understand how he did it bringing people back to life as he did must be taxing. "But from what I heard you say this Soul Society you mentioned is near the northern border. It will take us around three days to get there do you think you can make it in your condition?"

Glancing at Haku, Rei shrugged his shoulders before replying. "I have escaped a collapsing underground base while carrying three kids on my back while coughing up blood and that was when I was thirteen. Trust me I can handle a short three-day journey." Sighing Shusui looked at Rei with a worried look.

"If you say so but I think we should start moving now then before it gets any worse than it is." All three of them agreed with Shisui on that point as they prepared to leave. "Creating an After Life is a pretty big ordeal Rei. I'm actually excited to see what it's like when we get there." Hearing Shisui behind him Rei tilted his head with a proud look on his face.

"I think you would like it. It's really peaceful especially during the day. I'll happily give you a tour when my very being is not fading away." Being the middle of the night it was quiet as Shisui let out a chuckle. "I'm looking forward to it even more now. And it looks like that boy named Haku is as well."

Rei looked over at Haku who seemed to actually be slightly eager despite not showing it on his face. "Huh well, that's a first." As everyone gathered together under the moonlit night Zabuza had cleaned up any trail's they might have left behind out of sheer habit. Afterward, they left the Naka River making their way back to the Soul Society.
