GENERAL KANG'S POV
I looked out the window of the carriage waving goodbye to my harem as I left the estate. My eyes were on Ayan in particular. How embarrassing that I had nearly kissed her in front of the other wives. I don't know what came over me. All she did was look me in the eye and flash me a smile and I suddenly got lost in the moment. It's like I couldn't control myself when I was around her. It was becoming a strange habit.
Maybe it was due to the fact that I couldn't seem to get close to her lately. Every time I tried to physically get close to her or make a move on her, we would rather inconveniently get interrupted by someone. Perhaps that was why I now felt very strong emotions when I was around her. It felt like she was within my reach but was so far away from me at the same time.
