That time I got reincarnated as an abyssal Phoenix

In an old abandoned house a very skinny girl with dark brown hair was sitting on the floor, the house it self was filthy there was junk everywhere. It was obvious that the girl that seemed only 14 years old was on the verge of death.

"Why... why did they have to leave me?"

"I wish I wasn't so weak... maybe then they would still be here..."

"Maybe I will be reincarnated like in one of those novels..... if so I would much rather be something like a phoenix or some kind of super scary monster that would be way more fun then being human haha...."

=======somewhere else third person pov=======

"It such a great view from up here" a boy with long blue hair and yellow eyes said while sitting against a massive wolf with a horn on it's head.

"Indeed you can see the whole village from up here" the massive wolf spoke while wagging his tail.

"If only it could stay this peaceful all the time" the boy sighed.

"If only we could be so lucky master" the wolf replied.

"Hmmmm" the boy stood up and looked behind them at the forest with a confused expression on his face.

"What is it master?" Asked the wolf as he got to his feet.

"Don't you feel it?"

The wolf then looked in the same direction as the boy and that's when he felt it, an absolutely overwhelming aura. The aura was massive, how on earth did he not notice it until now it was on the level of a low class demon lord.

"W-what is that?" the wolf asked taking a step back.

"No idea but for some reason it feels like it's calling to me"

"What should we do master?"

"Let's go check it out but we probably should be careful just in case"

The boy then climbed onto the wolf as it began to run towards the aura. As they got closer the aura got stronger and stronger it was so powerful that the wolf was finding that it was getting harder to breathe.

"Stop here" said the boy as he climbed off.

"I will check it out, you stay here and wait for me" he commanded.

"But mast-" the wolf tried to protest but was cut off.

"No buts I'll be fine"

"Understood" the wolf said reluctantly.

The boy then started to walk deeper into the forest to the massive aura. It took him a bit but he finally got to the centre and what he saw shocked him.

There was a small girl around 13 or 14 with white hair, she was also pretty cute looking she was passed out under a tree. She was wearing a cute blue hoodie with cat ears on top with white trousers and shoes she also had a black scarf around her neck. But that's not what surprised him, what surprised him were the two black and gold wings on her back .

"Hey great sage what exactly is she"

[Unknown. She appears to be some kind of Phoenix]

"Phoenix? But she looks human well except for the wings"

[A Phoenix is a very very rare type of creature that are thought to be near extinct because they were hunted by humans. They thought if they were to drink a Phoenix's blood they could gain it's ability of immortality. Phoenix's were also extremely powerful they had the potential to be as powerful as true dragons like Veldora. However the very few of them that actually got to that level have been killed off.

Also some Phoenix's have the ability to take a humanoid form, this ability is rare however]

The boy who was now next to the girl checking if she was okay had a confused look on his face.

"Wait if Phoenix's are like what I remember in legends then can't they just come back after death?"

[That is correct however the humans found a way to permanently kill them, thankfully this method has been lost to time]

"Well I can't just leave her here but how can i take her with me if she keeps releasing that aura?" Just as he said that the girls aura vanished like it was never there.

"What the...." the boy looked even more confused.

[It seems her aura was protecting her however the reason why it stopped is unknown]

"You know what I'm not going to question it"

======some time later mc pov======

(Where am I?) I thought

(Why am I not dead?)

(And why do I feel like there is something on my back)

My eyes slowly opened and i began to look around. I was in what seemed to be a small house made of wood and straw. I also noticed that my clothes had changed and the fact that I didn't look like a walking skeleton now.

I sat up on the bed only to look to my side and have my jaw hit the floor, I had two black and gold wings coming out of my back. I took a minute to process that before deciding to think about it later.

Just as i was about to get up a girl with green skin and a big chest came in.

"Oh your awak-" the girl stopped talking as she looked into my eyes.

I could see that she was shaking in fear. I had no idea why but before I could ask a screen appeared in front of me, it kind of look like a status screen from a video game but just as fast as it came it vanished.

I then looked back to see that the girl was gone. I was very confused.

"Why did she have green skin?"

I waited a minute only for a new person to enter. He had long blue hair, he had pretty yellow eyes and was wearing clothes made of animal fur.

He paused for a second before saying"Hi I'm Rimuru Tempest..."

=======Rimuru pov======

I had asked Haruna to look after the girl for now while I was talking to Rigurd.

"So she is a Phoenix, they are extremely rare I've only ever heard stories of them" he said while thinking.

"So anything that could be useful?" I asked.

"Well there is very little known about them and what is known are just rumours. To make it worse if this is indeed a new species it will be even harder to find information"

"I see will thanks anyway I guess I will ask kaijin if he knows anythin-" before I could finish someone started calling out to me.

"Lord Rimuru, lord Rimuru" I turned around to see Haruna running towards me scared out of her mind.

"Calm down and tell me what happened"

Haruna breathed in and out as she tried to calm herself down, once she had she started to talk.

"Okay I was going to check on the girl and when I got there I was happy to see that she had woken up but then..."

"Then what?" Rigurd asked

"I saw her eyes they were black with white pupils, when I looked at them it... it felt like I was going to die I couldn't breathe i couldn't think it was like looking at death it's self"

"Is it some kind of skill?" I asked.

[That is very possible] great sage confirmed.

"I will go check on her Rigurd take Haruna and help her calm down"

"Yes lord" Rigurd said as he took Haruna away.

I quickly made my way back to the hut we had put her in. As I entered i see her sitting on the bed looking at me... and I had to say Haruna was right.

(It feels like she's looking into my soul. However I feel like it should be a lot worse than this)

[It is probably because you have already experienced death]

(Guess that make sense. Well anyway here goes nothing)

"Hi I'm Rimuru tempest and I'm not a bad slime slurp. What's your name?"

"....."

"Don't have one" she says with out any emotion in her voice.

"...."

(Errrrr this is so awkward I mean most monsters don't have names but still why does she sound so emotionless)

"Errmmm well may I ask you to please turn off that skill of yours it's getting annoying"

=========mc pov========

(What does he mean by skill... maybe it's to do with why the green lady ran away)

"What do you mean?" I said while tilting my head to the side.

He looked at me for a moment before saying.

"Your eyes.... your using a skill right?"

(My eyes.... hmmm maybe if I)

I closed my eyes and began to focus on them, suddenly my eyes felt different like.... like they were less tense. I then re-opened my eyes and looked up at him, he seemed to be more relax now.

"Thanks" he said while smiling at me.

"Can I ask a question?"

"Go ahead"

"Where exactly am I?" I was pretty curious about this place.

"Oh your in my village i found you in the woods passed out. If I may ask what exactly was a Phoenix doing in the middle of the forest?"

"Phoenix? Is that what I am now?"

(Was I reincarnated or something, I do remember making a joke about being reincarnated as a Phoenix. That would explain the wings and why I look so different)

"Wait you don't know what you are?" I shook my head, for some reason i feel like i can trust him.

"Do you have memory loss or something?" he asked.

(Hahaha I wish, I would love to forget my past)

"No i didn't always have wings and I have no idea how I ended up in a forest"

(Why am I telling him all this I just met him, and yet for some reason I feel like I can trust him but why. I know what happens when I get close to people I just end up getting hurt)

"Wait what do you mean?" At this point he had walked over to me and sat down.

"Will as I remember I was human not a Phoenix"

"Wait you were reincarnated?" He looked at me with wide eyes.

"Well I did die so it's the only explanation"

He looked at me for a long moment with sympathy in his eyes, before turning his head to look forward.

"I'm not going to ask how you died, I can tell that you wouldn't want to talk about it but just know your not the only one" as he finished he look back at me with a gentle smile.

"You too?" It was my turn to look surprised.

"Yeah I was reincarnated as a slime!" I looked at him like he was stupid.

That was until Rimuru began to melt in to a ball of blue goo, that then looked up at me and my only thought was. (Cute).

i slowly picked him up and looked at him, trying my best not to squeak at how adorable he looks.

"Can I ask what your name is? I mean the one you had in your old world"

I put him down as a shadow covered my face. Rimuru had the feeling he shouldn't have asked that.

"I already told you I don't have one.... my parents never gave me one"

"Oh sorr-" Rimuru tried to apologise but got cut off.

"DON'T!" I said with a hint of anger.

"Huh?"

"Don't say sorry. I hate it when people do that, it's not like you were there. You couldn't have done anything about it so just..... don't" I said while looking away from him.

The room was silent for a while after that, until he let out a long sigh.

"Would you like a name?" This took me off guard and I looked back at him.

"What?"

"Would you like a name?" He repeated as he turn back in to his human form.

"..."

"If you say yes you can join my family if you want I mean. I don't know what you have been through and I don't expect you to tell me anytime soon. However even if you say no to the name thing you are welcome to stay here with us"

I looked into his eyes and I saw no lies in them, I hesitated for a second before a thought entered my mind.

(Maybe I can try and put my trust in someone just one more time. And honestly what else am I going to do I have literally no where else to go)

"O-okay" he smiled at me

"How about Suu, Suu tempest" as he finished talking a bright white light came off of me before fading.

"What happened?" I asked confused .

"Oh that.... was.... wha-" suddenly he began to melt in to a puddle

"Hey are you okay!"

"Rimuru"
