Systematic Records | Bloodborne

“He who fights Monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a Monster. And if you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.” ~Friedrich Nietzsche However, what if the one fighting the Monsters is already one himself? ~~~~ Ethan is a seventeen year old teenager who is currently living at a church, seeing how he was abandoned at birth and found by one of the nuns who worshiped the Goddess of Light. The clergy often treated him differently than the other orphans because his appearance was unnatural. He knew nothing about who he truly was, however, what he did know is that he was not Human like the rest of the people in the church. For years he searched for the answer to find out what he was, but all the clues didn't go anywhere. Until the night where he had a dream, or one could say a vision, where he was walking past many books and stopping in front of one. Written on the cover was a single word "Bloodborne". Ethan was determined to find that book and read it, however, is obtaining knowledge always a good thing? He would discover more about himself than he wanted to after finding that book, and many hardships would follow. ~~~~ I do this as a hobby in my free time or when I feel inspired, it will likely not turn into anything serious in the future. So be ready for it not to update daily or for a few months. Since ten chapters have been released, I'm putting the Discord Link in here: https://discord.gg/gkbWjRVmEW

Confessions

Ethan didn't respond for several minutes, but finally, he knew that confessing everything that was happening to him would likely relieve the stress he had been keeping for the past month. He let out a little laugh because his first confession was with an assassin who was portraying a nun.

He looked up towards the ceiling and closed his eyes, then began to confess.

"Since you know what I am, you should also know that I have a thirst for blood. It started a week ago and before then I'd never felt it. The thirst was subtle at first and was nothing more than a slight irritation but it now feels like a small fire and it's getting larger.

My body's condition is strengthening while it's also physically changing. My strength, endurance, healing, everything is becoming more enhanced by the hour. This morning I even hurt Hazel's wrist by accident because of my increased strength, where I thought I was using the same amount I always have.

The first physical change I noticed with my body was the four small fangs I had since I was born had started to grow and become sharper, along with the tooth next to it going through the same process. Besides that, my muscles and bones are increasing in durability and strength.

The mindset I've had all my life from living with Humans is being overwritten, though it's happening slower than the changes in my body. I can feel parts of myself being lost and the way I think about situations is changing too.

I can even tell that I'm losing some of my emotions as well. This change in my mindset is also why I put off drinking blood. Because I know once I do the speed of everything will drastically increase.

There is also this feeling…."

Ethan placed his hand over his abdomen.

"There's been something forming and taking root in my stomach, I know it's been contributing to the change in my body as well. Since I know I'm a race that evolved from Vampires, I can only assume that this is or something like a blood core.

All these changes started about a month ago but took a drastic increase in speed in the past week. And having all these happen to me at the same time is causing my body to be in extreme pain at all times since then."

Ethan turned to Sasha and narrowed his eyes at her. "Since I confessed everything to you, why not tell me what you are now? I can tell by the scent of your blood that you're not Human."

Sasha parted her lips and then sighed. After a few moments, she removed her habit and blindfold, showing that she had golden hair and violet eyes like his own, though hers didn't show any light in them. However, the most shocking thing that happened is when she touched her ears.

Ethan could see them slowly shimmering until the illusion had disappeared, revealing that she had pointed ears.

'Is she an Elf? No, there is no Elf that would have violet eyes and golden hair, besides her ears are too short for her to be an Elf.' Ethan went through his thoughts on what she was until it hit him.

"You're a Half-Elf, aren't you?"

Sasha gave a gentle smile and nodded. "Indeed I am a Half-Elf, half Shadow Elf and half Human. As you can imagine, I don't fit into either of their societies and keep my appearance under an illusion to hide what I am.

Unlike a Shadow Elf, my skin took the appearance of my Human half which makes it easier to hide what I am, then the blindfold hides my eyes as well. Though I've never seen my appearance, it's been described to me and figured I should cover my eyes."

Sasha's ears began to change under the illusion, then she put her blindfold and habit back on. Once she was done they both remained silent for a few moments, however, Sasha began to talk again.

"Ethan, I told you I'd listen to what's going on with you and offer my advice to you afterwards. And here are my words of advice.

I'd recommend that you consume blood as soon as you can. Even if you aren't technically a Vampire, you're still Vampiric in nature. That means if you resist the urge to consume blood you'll turn into a mindless Monster that only wants to kill and consume blood.

I'd also recommend you to train your senses and Abilities, you only noticed me in the dining hall because I was directing pressure towards you. To be honest, I didn't expect you to try and punch me in the gut.

If you train your senses and Abilities you'll be an unstoppable being and you could protect those you currently and will hold close to you in the future. Because of what and who you are, many forces will come after you and you need to be prepared for that as well.

There's also a request I have for you, you need to tell Hazel what you are. She likely can tell that something is going on with you and wants you to tell her. If she finds out on her own she'd likely act differently than if you tell her yourself.

She's a kind girl and you've both been friends since you were six, there's no way that she'd abandon you, be completely afraid of you, or tell someone what you are. Sure at first she may fear you, however, with time that fear will disappear.

Once everything here is over, you'll no longer have a place to live as well. I believe that Hazel would be willing to take you in despite what you are. Her family is quite wealthy as you know, besides their home has spare rooms that you could stay in.

My last words are actually a warning. If you severely hurt Hazel or attack her, even if it's an accident and no matter how strong you are, I will make your life a living hell that you'll never escape. I have a few hundred years left in me, so you'll suffer until I die."
