Before making my way to the Common Rooms, I met up with Blaise. At first, he was a bit hesitant to be seen with me, which I understood as we only known each other for 2 days and I've gone and made myself the pariah of Slytherin, but then I told him of my plan to turn this into a play for power. He agreed when he realized how easily I could turn this into my favor. I told him the next people I would be visiting and how our group would be the only solid group in the first-year Slytherins. Everyone else is just following a crowd and if you take out the heads of a crowd the others will hesitate on who to follow like the sheep they are.
We approached both Daphne and Tracey, both of whom were very hostile at first, but soon even they followed suit when I asked them if they would rather be followers of Draco for the entire year, or would they rather be my friend and help me like a council.
The last person would be our physical muscle that would scare most. Millicent Bulstrode was a large, black-haired girl she had a square build that she uses to intimidate people. Since she was a half-blood recruiting her was simple. Draco despises all things non-pureblood and has made it known repeatedly since he's been here. Offer her a seat on my council and tell her I don't really care to much about blood, only power. She was putty in my hand and now with all of my group filled out we marched towards the Common Rooms.
When we entered the whole first-year and some second-years we're waiting for us, the upper-years had decided to watch us and laugh at us like we were a show to them. All in all, about 10 people were standing ready to fight my group of 5. I saw Draco staring daggers at me as he lead the crowd against us, Goyle and Crabbe were behind him and Pansy Parkinson also followed him. I guess that doesn't surprise me since they'd had a betrothal contract since they were children. The only reason Father hasn't signed me up for one is because all the good pureblood families currently in our network are Matriarchal and if we were to marry I would have to marry in and take on someone's last name. That is unacceptable for an heir, but a spare, not so much. Plus, Pansy's family is ridiculously rich and are giving Father many political favors from what I hear. The chance that a Malfoy could snag away some of that gold was too much for Father or ignore. Theodore Nott was another one of the leaders, his father raised him to be just as bigoted as he is. So far I've seen him mocking some of the other first-years in the other houses and calling them 'Mudbloods'. I hate that foul name that I've had to hear all my life.
"So, little Drake what have you brought so many people here for? Are we going to have a party?" I drawled with my pureblood voice I used to piss people off. It annoyed me that the second years decided to back Draco. It wasn't something I couldn't handle, but it brings a bit of danger to my companions.
Draco visibly reddened and scowled at the nickname, "How dare you call me that name! My name is Draconis Lucius Malfoy and I will not be talked down to by some filthy blood-traitor!"
"Blood-traitor? How does striking a friendship with the heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Longbottom seen as being a blood-traitor?" I asked like he was stupid for even asking that question.
"Longbottom the squib? You know as well as I do that his family has been enemy's to ours for years! And he's a Gryffindor as well." He said with a look of disgust that perfectly mirrored our father. He then looked at my group and knew that we had struck an alliance and said, "Zabini, Greengrass, I thought you would have enough since to not back a losing horse. The other two make since with their breeding, they can't help but make such moronic decisions". He finished with a mocking tone. His group laughed in derision at us.
I glanced at Millicent, she was fuming but Tracey was able to keep her from ruining the plan. Draco frowned when she didn't rise to the bait, and I took that chance to say, "You know, Fathers not here to tattle to anymore Draco, if you start this the prefects won't bother until someone's seriously injured, look at them they're ready for a good show!"
The prefects jeered and mocked me, saying how I was scared. They weren't even close to the truth, as soon as Draco and his group looked over to them, my wand shot into my hand, "Bombarda!"
My spell hit the ground before their feet kicking up dirt and shrapnel. Draco and his group fell to the ground screaming Blaise, Daphne, and Tracey took advantage of this and fired Stupefy's at Pansy, Goyle, and Crabbe knocking them out for the fight. Theodore Nott got his wand out and spat out, "Serpensor-" but never finished as a huge fist crashed in his face from Millicent knocking him down and his wand away from him. The crowd was silent as the dust cleared and showed the leaders of the crowd on the ground and 4 wands pointing at the other 5 second-years.
Whispers broke out among the upper-years over me using such a destructive spell while being so young. I loudly laughed at the remaining second-years shaking from the loud explosion. "You know, I'm not the only one who knows that spell. Looks like you've got 4 wands pointed at you. One explosion was enough to take down 4 of you. Imagine that times 4!" I said cheerfully, it was a bluff. After all, no one else from first year had been here long enough to cast such a destructive spell, but it did it's job they paled white as a sheet and the second-years booked it away from us screaming that we were crazy. One of the prefects had finally decided that that was enough and stepped up, "Alright lower your wands, we don't want to be scooping up bits of ickle firstie's of the ground."
I turned back to Draco who's pants had a suspicious stain on the front. I feel bad for scaring him so bad and embarrassing him like I did, but it needs to be done. He has to be humbled and eventually when I got powerful enough, I'll show him how weak father is to be someone's servant. If there's one thing Malfoy's respect, it's power. "Well, little Drake, did you enjoy this party you threw. I certainly had a blast!"
Chuckles ran out among the upper-years at my joke. Draco ran away crying to his dorm screaming that, "Father would hear of this!" I shook my head, as Blaise and I retired to our dorm. When the door shut, I sagged down the door. That had been incredibly risky. Once the second-years calm down enough they'll see that what I did was possibly a bluff. Then some will get brave and challenge me and I need to be ready to respond. Blaise was laughing his head of on how he couldn't believe that worked.
I got into bed and thought about my need to get stronger. A memory came to me from my past life as the perfect place to train popped into my mind. Ravenclaws room will make a great training center, I'll have Blaise and the girls meet me on the 7th floor and train with them in a couple of days. If the changes I want to implement plan to go through in the next couple of years, I need strength enough to destroy any who stand in my way, and anyone who stands with me needs to be able to take care of themselves.
