Jyorta’s Lack of Anchors

Jyorta closed his eyes as the blue soul began to slowly structure the memories he had obtained from Henrik Bone. He couldn't remove the influence of Henrik's memories for the time being. After all, he had to remain in that influence to complete the treatment.

Otherwise, the effect wouldn't be potent enough. He then sighed, unleashing his Soul Cornea, turning it jet black as it pierced through Henrik's Soul Cocoon, siphoning more memory fragments from the vicinity of the Wisdom Parasite's Soul Core.

The souls of Henrik and his Wisdom Parasite had assimilated into one another. Only their Soul Cores retained their individuality. This was how a Soul Cocoon was created, a process that finished completing after one spent some time at Tier 3.

Once he siphoned another batch of memory fragments, Jyorta sighed, retracting his Soul Cornea as he began to experience them. He lived through Henrik's life, experienced his fears, worries, trauma, etc. Everything that the Wisdom Parasite used to weaken his mind, Jyorta experienced through them all, becoming more and more traumatised in the end.

Henrik suddenly shot his eyes open, looking at Jyorta with a frown, 'Just what is happening? Why is Jyorta Bone in such a state? It's like he's in hell.'

'Is this what he has to endure to treat me?' As he thought, Henrik was puzzled for a moment, 'Why…are my thoughts so clear?'

The constant ravings from his Wisdom Parasite had subsided to a certain extent, allowing him to think clearly. Rather, his thinking capacity exploded by a multitude as it was no longer restrained by the Wisdom Parasite's machinations. He was able to exert a part of the true strength of the mind as a Ground Controller.

'Whatever he seems to be doing, it's working.' Henrik closed his eyes, forcefully placing his body in a state of rest to not hinder the treatment.

Jyorta's Soul Cornea was currently flailing about within Henrik's soul, creating a structure around the Wisdom Parasite's Soul Core. He finally created a spherical caged structure using the memories he obtained from Henrik, sighing as he retracted his Soul Corneas, waking up Henrik as he said, "The first treatment process is done. It will take a day for the changes to sink in. So, we'll continue the rest tomorrow."

"Alright," Henrik nodded, "I'll return sharp at 10 AM tomorrow."

Saying his piece, Henrik vanished from the warehouse.

Jyorta slumped on the ground, hurriedly activating the goggles he wore, casting a beam of light on himself to light up a projection of his mind behind him.

Unranked Skill—Deific Inference!

His two Soul Corneas turned jet black as they corroded all the influences that Henrik's memory fragments had inflicted on him. When he noticed traces of Henrick's facial features on the projection of his mind, Jyorta became afraid, "This is too dangerous. I should prepare myself a lot, otherwise, I would slowly become Henrik."

He sighed, understanding the root cause of the issue, "It's because my anchors are too weak."

His first Anchor was Heima. But, the duration of this Anchor's establishment was less than two years. So, it wasn't sturdy enough to make him attached to his life, his self as Jyorta Bone. As for his Anchors from when he was Kaushik, only the memories existed.

None of those forming his past life's Anchors were alive now. So, there wasn't much preventing him from desiring to become someone else, to obtain greater familiar bonds, affection, and a sense of belonging.

He wasn't part of this world. And among his family, only his sister was alive, and that too after suffering numerous complications thanks to becoming the Subsoul of Gajara Rahi once.

So, unlike when he lived through the memory fragments of Frenzy Beasts, Henrik's memory proved troublesome. After all, the sense of attachment here was greater. Whether it was his past or his present life, Jyorta was a human in both.

So, his sense of desire towards the memory fragments of a human was greater than towards other memory fragments. And, despite the man's traumas, he had a wholesome life. He chased after the woman he had a crush on and ended up marrying her, leading a happy life where his wife and children were hale and hearty.

His wife had already consumed a Cleansement Fruit and now lived with peace of mind, possessing strength as a Ground Controller. Moreover, Henrik's siblings were all alive. And, they shared rather great relationships with him.

All things considered, Henrik's memory fragments were trap-worthy baits to the blue soul. Jyorta had only one Anchor, and that was Heima. He had dropped a second Anchor in Haesha, but it had yet to firm itself. The Anchors related to his friends too hadn't become firm enough to root himself to his self as Jyorta Bone.

His Soul Corneas quickly destroyed all of Henrik's influence. But, having lived through a part of Henrik's life, Jyorta had an urge. And, this urge not only prompted him to take action but also to become afraid that he would be too late if he remained passive any longer.

Once he healed both body and mind using Regen, Jyorta exited the warehouse, noticing Hruna Bone seated at the counter, "Can you inform anyone arriving to use the warehouse about what I have been using it for?"

"Sure, I'll inform them." Hruna Bone then said, "But, we would be refilling it with shipment after two days. So, if anything happens, I'll call you first."

"Thanks, that should suffice." Jyorta said, "And if it seems urgent, you can inform Henrik Bone first. I'm working with him on something in the warehouse."

"With…Henrik Bone?" Hruna Bone was surprised, wondering what Jyorta was doing with the strongest Esper of their family. "Alright, I'll inform him first."

"Thank you," Finishing his piece, Jyorta exited the research institution, boarded the metro train in the Lower Strata, and began to head back to his house.

"There's something different about him now. What happened to cause this change…?" Hruna Bone muttered once Jyorta left, sighing, "There are quite some questions surrounding Jyorta Bone. I wonder just what is happening here."

Seated within the train, Jyorta was deep in thought, gazing outside as he watched the dark tunnel span past, finally deciding on his course of action, 'I'll meet with Haesha first.'
