Chapter 63: Wolf

After going up the first row of stairs they found the first bifurcation.

"I need to find a kitchen to restock my cola!." Said Frany.

Vivi used her observation Haki to feel any hostile presence in the surroundings. Her reach was still very lacking and only picked one signal.

'The closest one should be the kabuki guy. I think he was near the kitchen.'

"I'll take this path." Vivi pointed the other way.

"You three can take that path. Stick together and you should be fine."

"Well I'm not afraid of going alone, you know?." Usopp said, defiantly.

"Do you want to take the solo path then?" Teased Vivi.

Usopp started to sweat. "What?... I mean, I would but someone needs to protect those two!." He pointed at Nami and Franky.

"So…leave it to me!"

"Okay then, I'll leave it to you. Keep them safe." Vivi smiled.

After walking for a bit, she reached an area that was filled with doors. Vivi started opening one after the other one. They were all empty bedrooms and very plain ones at that.

She finally found a room where she could feel a presence inside. The room looked like a garden, with grass, trees, and even a rock fountain.

At the end of the room was a man sleeping peacefully. A key lay in front of him.

'Can he be more obvious?' Vivi wondered.

She sent a blast of water in his direction. Jabra opened his eyes and moved out of the way.

"Tsk!, you knew I was awake, didn't you?" He demanded.

Vivi made an innocent face.

"No, I seriously thought that an elite, government-trained assassin was actually taking a nap minutes before an enemy attack."

Jabra gave her an angry face.

"I don't like the sarcastic ones…I was hoping you would get close so I could finish this quickly. So be it! If you want to drag your suffering, be my guest."

'He knows about my abilities, and still seemed confident about killing me quickly if I go close…I wonder what kind of sea-stone weapon he has.'

He took something from his jacket. "I like playing around with my prey, but Lucci gave us the order to go all out if we happened to encounter you."

He started to grow in size. His features started to change until He looked like a ferocious werewolf.

It was then that He revealed his secret weapon. A set of metal claws that attached to his own, the tip of the claws had a slightest different color compared to the rest.

With no more talk, Jabra jumped to action.

"Soru"

He appeared next to Vivi and aimed his claw at her neck, trying to end the fight quickly.

Vivi knew the attack was coming, but it was impossible to dodge when the attacker is much faster than you. She did avoid a lethal blow by twisting her body so He would only cut her shoulder.

As the claws connected, a splash of blood came from the wound.

Vivi felt the pain from being cut but managed to keep her reaction in check.

"Blast!" She counterattacked with her signature attack but the wolf was ready.

"Tekkai." He took the blast to his chest and was pushed back but didn't seem to take any damage.

'Okay, how do I do this? I can't choke him as long as he has those claws. My other attacks can be blocked with tekkai and I can't dodge him completely since He is faster than me. My best chance is hitting him with the Reject dial but I can't use that until I can make sure He will not dodge it. It seems like I'm in a very bad position…yet…I am excited.'

"Let's try this then." Vivi aimed her finger at Jabra. "Bullet"

She took inspiration from the shigan to create this move. Instead of firing high-pressure air, she shoots a small amount of water.

Jabra was almost hit in the face but managed to move in time, getting only a small cut on his cheek.

He seemed a bit surprised that she could do that but didn't comment on it.

She then extended both her hands toward him. "Gatling"

Vivi fired a barrage of bullets from all her fingers.

"Tekkai kempo" Jabra ignored her attacks while running at her. One He got close, He slashed at her, cutting her belly open and pushing her back.

Jabra chuckled. "I am one of the greatest experts in the tekkai technique, I can even sing while I move and attack. Your attacks have no chance of hurting before I get to you! You have no chance to win!"

Vivi held one hand on her stomach to cover the wound as it was closing.

'He is right, I won't win like this.'

"Then…let me try something different…soru!" Vivi disappeared from her position.

"What?!" Jabra was shocked as Vivi appeared in front of him. She then aimed her hands at his face and fired the strongest water blast she could muster.

"Argg!" Jabra fell back and covered his face, blood dripping through his fingers. Even his tekkai was not enough to protect himself if He is hit straight in the face.

"Well? what did you think of that?" Asked Vivi with a smug smile.

"You dammed pirate! You have the gall to steal a technique from the marines?!" An enraged Jabra yelled at her before attacking again.

She tried to incorporate her new technique into her dodging routine but she was still a novice with it, having learned it only moments ago, so she was still receiving cuts one after another.

After a few minutes, her body was covered in wounds and blood. Her clothes were also an absolute mess. But she was still standing and the confidence in her eyes did not diminish.

Jabra looked at her like she had grown a second head.

"What kind of monster are you? how are you still alive?!"
