((Sorry For the Late Update))
Brontes had just finished reassuring the king and now he was escorting the captured members of the Big Mom Pirates down to the seaside.
He didn't throw them into the ship's hold right away. Instead, he left them on the shore, waiting quietly. He knew that if Big Mom saw her children in this helpless state, she would be pissed off.
Brontes had a preference for sea battles rather than fighting on land. He believed that warships could show their true power on the open sea.
This time, though, he only brought three warships with him. He wasn't planning to confront the Big Mom Pirates' entire fleet head-on. So, he decided to wait in Totto Land.
The Marines had cleared the area of civilians and decided to stay and protect it. If they left, Big Mom could destroy Totto Land.
Brontes wasn't as heartless as Sakazuki; he wouldn't ignore the safety of civilians or his own soldiers just to achieve his goals. He had his own strategy and he didn't want to damage the Marines' reputation for a short-term victory or peace.
Meanwhile, at the dock, Perospero and the other captured pirates were coming to.
They were handcuffed with seastone, which left them completely powerless and forced them to just lie there on the ground.
"They're here..." Brontes muttered quietly, looking in a certain direction.
"Sir, what should we do next?" Kaise asked from behind him.
"Big Mom will be here very soon. It looks like she's brought a lot of pirates with her. Has she called in her entire crew? Well, I'll just have to deal with a few of the smaller threats first." Brontes said with a light laugh, pointing his finger up at the sky.
"What's he planning to do?" Cracker and the others wondered as they watched Brontes suddenly lift his right hand, pointing at the sky.
"Your mother is coming to save you, but she's brought too many pirates. I need to give her a special welcome." Brontes said, almost as if he could read their minds.
"What?" Perospero and the others were shocked by his words.
Then they remembered the lightning monster that had struck them from the sky earlier.
They were nervous. Brontes's ability to launch large-scale attacks was terrifying.
They knew a bit about Observation Haki, but they couldn't sense their mother's presence. Yet, Brontes could.
They were amazed by his Observation Haki. It was almost like a radar, thanks to his Rumble-Rumble Fruit abilities.
He could pinpoint the enemy's location without even seeing them. It was hard to guess where he would strike next.
"ZliZli!"
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning formed at Brontes's fingertip and shot up into the sky.
The clouds, which had been altered by Brontes's warship, were still filled with thunderclouds that hadn't dispersed.
Brontes had planned this. He quickly used the thunderclouds to generate a massive amount of lightning. These bolts of lightning were like a charged battery in the sky, storing up power for him to use.
...
Big Mom was a good distance away from Totto Land, sitting on her ship, eating non-stop. Her stomach was slightly swollen, but it wasn't from the food; she was expecting another child.
For the past twenty years, she had been in a constant cycle of pregnancy and childbirth. Big Mom's ability to keep having children was astonishing. Even in her sixties, she was still capable of bearing children.
When people first learned that Big Mom had over a hundred children, they were shocked.
But looking closer, it was clear that many of her children were part of multiple births, like the Katakuri triplets, the Opera quintuplets, the Smoothie sisters, and the Lola twins.
Almost all of her children, except for Perospero, the eldest, were multiples.
This was how Big Mom managed to have so many children, and her abilities seemed to grow more and more unusual.
Among her children, Katakuri was one of the strongest and the one she was most proud of.
"Have we gotten any updates from Perospero and the others?" Big Mom asked Owen, who was next to her.
"No, should I check in with them?" Owen replied.
"There's no need. They're no match for him. They've probably been caught or worse. If they've been caught, I might forgive that lightning bastard. But if he's killed any of my kids... I'll make him pay!" Big Mom was shaking with rage.
"They'll be okay, don't worry, Mom." Owen said quickly, trying to calm her down. He was worried she might take her anger out on their own ship.
"Mommy, look at all the yummy things in the sky." A cloud that looked like cotton candy said as it floated by.
"Rumble!" Big Mom looked up to see the sky filled with flashes of lightning.
"You can't eat that." She said, her angry face turning serious.
"Really? But it looks so tasty..." Zeus, the cloud, mumbled.
For Zeus, a cloud made of thunder, this stormy weather was probably delightful, but even he couldn't handle consuming such a massive amount of lightning.
Zeus was essentially a living thundercloud, and he had his limits. Watching Nami feed him the Weather Egg showed that while he could handle some lightning, he couldn't compare to the raw power of a natural disaster.
"If you want some, go ahead, but just a little. We've still got some time before we get to Totto Land." Big Mom said. She loved to eat, and since Zeus was a part of her soul, she understood his cravings.
"Thanks, Mama." Zeus said with a grin, floating up into the sky.
"Mom, the weather feels strange." Prometheus, another one of Big Mom's living soul creations, said from behind her.
"You feel it too?" Big Mom's face grew serious.
The skull on her hat suddenly opened its eyes and looked off into the distance: "Someone is watching us."
"That's right. This Observation Haki is so strong, I can feel the gaze of its owner without even seeing him." Prometheus added.
"It looks like you both noticed. Well, you're parts of my soul, so if I can sense someone spying, it makes sense you can too." Big Mom said, her voice was serious.
As a Overlord in the New World, few could match Big Mom's mastery of Haki. And beyond her strength, she had another crucial ability: intuition.
Intuition is often thought of as a special kind of skill, much like the Observation Haki in the world of One Piece. This includes the five basic senses and, importantly, the so-called sixth sense. Some people are really good at using this intuition, and they can even predict things that are about to happen, though only for a very short time. Katakuri is one of these people; he got his strong Observation Haki from his mother and made it even better than hers.
Big Mom, who had been in the New World for over forty years, meeting all kinds of unique people and seeing all sorts of strange things, definitely believed in the power of intuition. She couldn't quite explain it, but she had this nagging feeling that someone was watching her and her crew from a distance.
.....
Back in Totto Land, Brontes overheard Big Mom talking to Prometheus and couldn't help but laugh.
He had a special kind of Observation Haki that worked really well, especially in such stormy weather.
Brontes used his power to keep an eye on the entire sea area. He would immediately know as soon as Big Mom entered this territory, and he would be able to track her every move.
Big Mom was really upset about Brontes watching her so openly, but she felt helpless because they had no idea from where he was watching them.
.....
"It's about time." Brontes whispered to himself, pulling back some of his electric power but still keeping a small connection to the clouds in the sky.
He looked up at the clouds, which were now full of electrical energy, ready to burst.
"Lightning Welcome!"
Brontes called out, and with a gesture, he made the lightning change shape according to his command.
Perospero and the others from Big Mom's crew watched Brontes, not really understanding what he was up to.
But they knew Big Mom was on her way, and it seemed like Brontes was getting ready to attack her.
"Rumble!! ZliZli!!"
Suddenly, there was a loud thunderclap from the clear sky, and a black sphere appeared among the clouds, crackling with lightning. It started to fall like a meteor.
"What is that?" The Big Mom Pirates were stunned, feeling a dangerous threat even though it was still far away. They sensed an approaching crisis.
Big Mom looked up and saw the sphere. She didn't know what it was, but she could feel the scary amount of energy it had.
"Mama, it's too much, I can't take it. It's pure lightning, and it's going to be really dangerous if it hits!" Zeus said, flying back and burping.
"Is this all you've got?! You lightning bastard, you've been spying on me, haven't you? You can hear me, right?!" Big Mom stood up and yelled furiously.
Unfortunately, Brontes couldn't talk back to her at that moment; he could only listen in silence.
The atmosphere grew tense as the Lightning Welcome was about to hit. The Big Mom Pirates' ships quickly moved apart. This time, Big Mom had brought thousands of her crew with her.
"Napoleon!" Big Mom called out.
Whoosh!
The hat on her head floated down, turning into a sword hilt and blade, which she grabbed.
"Zeus!" She called again.
Big Mom jumped up, and Zeus changed from a white cloud to a black one, with purple lightning flashing around it non-stop.
"Let's go up, I'll meet that lightning bastard!" Big Mom shouted, riding the thundercloud straight towards the Lightning Welcome in the sky.
