Awakening

The world started spinning all of a sudden for him and he fell to the floor.

"AHHH!" Sofina's high-pitched scream had alerted everyone from outside the classroom, but Mr. Zolial was one step ahead as he braced the fall with a single large bound.

THUMP!

He reached for the boy's neck and wrist as he checked his pulse among other simple checks.

"I've checked his pulse, he's just passed out for some reason, so there's no need to worry," he reassured everyone— primarily Sophina.

"What a relief. I don't know why I screamed like that, sorry." She tried her best to reply nonchalantly, but on the inside, she was all over the place.

'What the hell is wrong with this guy! He was the one who told me to come here, but now he goes and passes out and almost gives me a heart attack.'

'What a jerk,' she grumbled to herself.

Meanwhile in a pitch-black setting...

'Where am I? Why can't I see anything? Who the fu-,' before he could finish that thought, the environment around him started shifting around a cloaked figure until it formed into a dark and musty cave where it sat down and leaned its back against the cold stone wall.

'There's no way I just got kidnapped by some weird ass hobo wizard.'

With the situation unfolding, he had come to understand that shit just got fucked. And hard.

Before he could analyze the situation any further, the cloaked hobo god spoke in a husky voice, "Null is he..."

'No! Not this Null bullshit again! Wake up! Wake up!'

Whatever was happening, he wanted nothing to do with it.

He would want nothing less than to be getting an earful of Zoldial's 'wisdom' right about now.

Hell, what was an earthquake compared to this lucid nightmare.

However, the dry voice wheezed out the last half yet again, '... who defies the creator.'

That cursed line once more.

His head began pulsating heavily unlike before.

Only, this time the figure's left arm slowly rose revealing a bony twig of an arm and a hand full of...

'What the... Are those painted nails? Don't tell me this fabulous hobo is going to-'

The figures head suddenly shot up, "Can you piss off with the commentary and let me finish this already!"

The pale, bony face of an old man was now screaming his head off.

"You creep! Stop listening to my thoughts like some pervert," realizing the meaning behind his words, the boy clutched his chest and privates like some damsel in distress.

'There can't be many reasons why this grandpa trapped me here with him in a secluded cave. No doubt something bad.'

The gramps reached his hand out and one of his nails began glowing in a violent sheen. "I said piss off you insolent child!"

THUD!

All of the sudden, he felt a force weigh down on him, and down to the floor he went.

Again.

'Gimme a break, will you? That makes this the third time I fell on my ass.'

"Do not utter another thought lest the entire cosmos be fated for destruction."

Without a shred of context, the old man began explaining the reason for his sudden visit.

"Before I begin you must understand that none of this was your fault."

'My fault,' his stomach sank. What could that even mean?

"You will become something never foreseen throughout the entirety of the universe, becoming so powerful that They refused to allow you free reign any longer."

"As of right now, your subconscious has sensed this threat and is forcefully awakening a World Rebirth."

The vague words of the strange old man were easily convincing for some reason.

"Head to the north towards the forest and find the ship. You'll be safer with m-"

Before the old man could finish, his figure dissipated along with the cave, leaving the boy alone with the voice reverberating throughout his mind, layering in madness like a vengeful spirit.

He managed to piece together the message left behind by the voice, gradually allowing him to regain consciousness.

'All shall be encompassed by an endless Void. All that is real shall be replaced by the imaginary. Null shall be the one who defies the Creator.'

As he heard those words, something awoke inside of him, emitting a faint pulse accompanied by a glow.

'What the heck did he put inside of me! I don't want to be a dad!'

As he opened his eyes, the boy was greeted by the sight of Sofina and the rest.

'Thank god whatever that was is finally over,' he said to himself.

"You're finally awake you sleepyhead," Sofina felt no shame showing that she was relieved he was alright.

"And the earthquake seems to have stopped too, maybe we've made it out of this nightmare."

She began to feel a lot better now that things seemed to be going back to normal.

"Yeah."

'I'm glad she made it here safely,' he felt relieved by her hopeful attitude, but still wondered about the glamourous hillbilly and that freaky vision.

"For a second there I thought the apocalypse was gonna happen," he spoke to everyone's surprise.

'He actually spoke a full sentence!?'

It wasn't just them who felt so either, even the boy himself couldn't believe that those words had escaped his mouth.

It was like someone was speaking for him.

No that's not it, it was like he had become another person, uncaring of his previous demeanor.

"Call me Null from now on."

The instant she heard him finish, Sophina's jaw dropped, "All this time you refuse to say a word besides good and morning."

"For a second there I thought I would have to beat it out of you," she said balling her small hand into a fist and punching her hand like a bully.

"Yeah right," Null chuckled at her amusing appearance, not bothering himself to contain his emotions.

But before they could enjoy the moment, disaster struck again on a global scale.

They all flinched at the sudden crashing of the windows, peering outside at what could only be classified as an apocalyptic event.

Outside of the window, a tear began to rip in space until it widened to the size of the Earth itself!

I keep rereading this over and over and it's not the best, but I'm more focused on the concept pulling through. Enjoy!
