Chapter 37

Of course, there are anomalies to this theory like the Uchiha clan's sharingan capable of placing their opponents n terrible illusions regardless of their instincts. Of course this doesn't work on Kage level individuals but still.....truly a cheat power.

Anyway, enough about the Uchiha.

Yuu spent the last month and half experimenting on various people, shinobi and animals, testing and modifying his jutsus in order to deceive a creature's very instincts and a few weeks ago, his experiments had been a success. Yuu discovered that a creature's instinct was born of their body not of their mind and affected various factors like reflexes, reaction speed e.t.c.

Once he discovered that he focused on developing genjutsu that tricked both the mind and body essentially their instincts. Eventually he managed to succeed and after successful tests with weaker shinobi like Genin and Chunin, he had finally conducted today's test and lo and behold the elite Jonin's instinct failed to perceive the incoming kunai resulting in his death.

'Though I am unsure about whether the technique will have an effect on Kage level shinobi at least I know it works on elite level jonin and below. This coupled with my invisibility makes me the most dangerous person to the shinobi villages and their Daimyos.

After all most villages' Kage level shinobi could be counted on one's hand. That's how rare they are. The rest are mostly jonin level shinobi and below. Elite Jonin level shinobi are also quite few in a village as they represent the truly powerful shinobi just short of reaching Kage level.' Thought Yuu as he poured corpse dissolving water on the dead shinobi and left the area.

That night, Yuu stood a few dozen meters outside the area of a camp composed of the Hoshigaki clansmen. The Hoshigaki clan were a clan whose members were known to possess large quantities of chakra rivalling even those of the Senju. Their latest prodigy, a rogue shinobi known by the name of Hoshigaki Kisame, was said to possess Chakra rivalling that of a tailed beast earning him the nickname 'The tailless tailed beast' in the Bingo books 'a book that listed the most wanted rogue shinobi and criminals'. Their large chakra reserves was why Yuu chose to attack this camp first of all bloodline camps. That night at around 1 am while most of the shinobi in the camp were asleep, Yuu finally advanced towards the camp.

Using his sensory skills and a few sensory earth style techniques, Yuu avoided numerous traps laid out to kill intruders like himself. He even passed an area where had he stepped through there, a variety of strong thin wires would have tied him up before the thin wires tightened and sliced him into thin cubed of bloody meat.

Once he had bypassed the traps around the encampment, Yuu cast the shadow clone technique creating 7 shadow clones which quickly departed, each heading towards the various teams of shinobi patrolling the entire camp. With their new genjutsu capable of not only invisibility but also deception of instincts, Yuu's shadow clones made quick work of the patrolling shinobi. After every patrolman had been killed, Yuu's shadow clones burst into quiet clouds of smoke transferring their remaining chakra and memories back to Yuu.

Yuu formed a few more hand seals this time creating 14 shadow clones. Ten of these shadow clones dispersed with quick body flicker techniques arriving at various corners of the camp.

There, they immediately cast two genjutsu techniques, their chakras draining at a rapid rate as the genjutsu spread throughout the camp, eventually encompassing everyone. Meanwhile the remaining four shadow clones advanced in the darkness of the night, entering each tent or house one by one, killing everyone while they slept completely unaware of their impending deaths.

Before Yuu wouldn't have been able to pull off such an act but now due to his large Kage chakra reserves, his genjutsu could now be cast to influence a large number of shinobi at the same time. While it cost a large amount of chakra to do so, it was something manageable by the current Yuu. The two genjutsu he had were the 'Sound killing genjutsu' which made all sound cease to exist as if mere illusions and the genjutsu which affected instincts which he had named 'Instinct override jutsu'. Yuu didn't know whether his jutsu naming was good but he couldn't care less as long as the jutsu worked.

After an hour, the four clones focused on assassination dispelled themselves sending back all of their memories. Yuu, after going through the memories once more, confirmed that there were no more breathing shinobi using various detection jutsus. Seeing no issues, he issues a command dispelling the remaining 10 shadow clones he had created. Soon all that was left was an eerie silence and the pools of blood flowing through the encampment heading slowly downhill where it would soon join the river far below.

Just like that, 5100 shinobi of the Hoshigaki clan had perished in an hour maybe less. From his power and shadow clones' memories he could feel that in this large camp, he had killed 8 elite jonin, 592 jonin, 1500 chunin, 3000 genin totalling 5100 shinobi. The average clan possessed around 5000 shinobi with the large powerful ones possessing 8000 – 10000 shinobi. The Hoshigaki clan was a large powerful clan that possessed around 9000 shinobi 'this includes the old and weak shinobi' and yet tonight, Yuu had killed 5100 members of their clan, essentially slaughtering half their force. He would have killed more if not for the fact that some of the clansmen were out doing missions while the rest were either in Kirigakure village or merged and working in other camps.

With his mission a success, Yuu left the area, not returning to his hideout but rather, heading towards another encampment. Yuu felt that he had enough chakra to wipe out one more camp. He also knew that soon other shinobi would discover the corpses of the Hoshigaki shinobi and word would spread, raising the alert of the other camps after tonight which was why he had to ensure he killed enough to last a while. This time he headed to the location of another camp.

This one was occupied by another clan entirely known for their bloodline technique of instantly turning into or manifesting the properties of water allowing them to become impervious to physical attacks. This was the Hozuki clan.
