Chapter 38

Unlike the Hoshigaki camp located on a hill surrounded by large forests in the valley, this camp was located on a river. In the middle of the camp ran a large river which flowed throughout, with various tributaries 'likely created by the Hozuki shinobi' diverged passing near most tents and houses.

'I will need to be more cautious than I was with the Hoshigaki clansmen.' Thought Yuu as he observed the layout of the entire camp from a far-off hill. 'They have created tributaries connecting to the large river which, with their ability to turn to water, will allow them to quickly escape should they face any threat to their lives. A bit further down the stream, I can see another large camp which likely serves as reinforcements should the large camp of Hozuki face any danger. I should ensure that no one escapes from the Hozuki camp otherwise I may end up facing off against more than 1000 shinobi while exhausted and with little chakra.'

To ensure his safety, this time Yuu didn't approach the village but rather created 14 shadow clones where he was and sent them towards the Hozuki camp while he stayed far away in case he needed to make a quick gateway.

The 14 shadow clones advanced quickly soon reaching the edge of the camp. 4 of them immediately turned invisible and advanced forward, their senses and chakra spread out in search of any traps. After evading the numerous traps laid in their path, the other 10 shadow clones quickly arrived at the corners of the camp where they immediately cast the same two genjutsu 'Sound killing' and 'Instinct Override'. After ensuring everyone in the camp was affected, the 4 shadow clones ran at super speed through the camp, killing all the patrolmen they came across which was easy since their senses of danger were completely shut down. Five minutes later, all the patrolling shinobi were dead.

After the 4 shadow clones confirmed with each other that every shinobi patrolman was dead, they began their second task. Each of them entered the various tents, their visage and sound hidden, and quickly ended the lives of the sleeping shinobi with kunai.

There was a female shinobi at the far end of the camp, who woke up to use the rest room when she was shocked to see blood flowing in the nearby tributaries. She immediately entered her tent, waking everyone up before explaining to them what she had seen. Immediately the seven kunoichi beside her got serious, one of them even spreading her chakra zone covering a large part of the camp only to sense no nearby chakra signals. Her comrades seeing her panicked expression asked her what was wrong. Hearing her findings caused them all to be shocked.

"Something is seriously wrong" said one of them, a kunoichi with black hair.

"Yeah, question is how is it that we or anyone else didn't sense anything wrong?" asked another kunoichi with orange hair.

"I don't know must be some special jutsu or something and a powerful one at that if it's capable of keeping everyone else from noticing anything wrong. I too wouldn't have known had I not gone to the bathroom." Said a beautiful woman in her early 20s. She was the one who had noticed the blood and woken everyone up.

"Also have you noticed that whether its our voices or our footsteps, neither of them are producing much sound. In fact, if we weren't really close to each other and speaking loudly, we wouldn't be able to hear each other." Said another middle-aged woman with brown hair, her eyes constantly analysing their surroundings.

"Whatever Jutsu this is, it's powerful which means the caster must be powerful as well. We need to do something before that caster finds us."

"Okay. Iha, Morioka, you two head towards Yuki encampment through the river and call for reinforcements. The rest of us will try to alert everyone else of our attacker." Said Mana, the middle-aged woman and the leader of their little team.

Iha 'the girl who had woken them up' and Morioka both nodded before quickly turning into water and flowing into the nearest tributary heading to the main river.

The remaining five kunoichi under the leadership of Mana, stealthily rushed towards the nearby tents waking everyone as quietly as possible and explaining to them who was happening. They even created water clones to assist them. One of the clones was speaking to a group of four in the tent when it suddenly dispelled shocking the people present before they too collapsed on the floor missing their heads. Before their corpses, Yuu's shadow clone materialized.

'They know' thought the shadow clone. It quickly the left before weaving a few signs before pointing his right hand to the sky. Lightning quickly formed into a small ball of lightning which flew to the top of the sky where it created a large explosion of blinding light and booming sounds of thunder which due to the 'sound killing genjutsu' sounded like a low drum beat instead. Nevertheless, it got the message across. The remaining shadow clones seeing the signal immediately commenced Plan B.

The 4 shadow clones immediately rushed to the different ends of the camp re-joining the rest of the shadow clones. Immediately they began to weave signs.

'Fire style: Endless Purgatory' – A rank jutsu

'Wind style: Great wind Breakthrough' – C rank jutsu

'Genjutsu: Great concealment' – A rank jutsu

8 shadow clones cast the fire Jutsu, 4 cast the great breakthrough while the remaining 2 cast the genjutsu turning their attacks invisible. All shadow clones spent all of their chakra casting these Jutsus. The Fire jutsus combined with the empowered wind jutsus amplifying their power and speed. From above one could see five waves of fire heading towards the centre of the camp from different directions. At some point the fires met combining into an even larger wave of fire that raced even faster to the centre of the camp. Wherever the fires passed, the victims were turned to charred corpses in seconds curtesy of the powerful fire jutsus made from Yuu's dense chakra making the power of these Jutsus comparable to S-rank jutsus and higher.

The ninjas who had already woken up after being alerted by the kunoichi were shocked to see tents around them turn to ash with screams being heard all around. They weren't able to see what was causing such destruction but due to the 'Instinct Override' genjutsu no longer being cast, their instincts were warning them of impending death. Most of them immediately used their hydrification Jutsu turning into water only for them to suddenly cry out in pain before turning into vapor essentially killing them.
