Chapter 36

During his metamorphosis, Yuu felt the barrier towards Kage level chakra shatter. His body drowned in euphoria as he felt his chakra grow to quantities he had never thought possible. His very chakra veins bulged and expanded in order to accommodate the sudden increase in chakra.

As he felt the rivers of bountiful chakra coursing through his body, Yuu felt like he could do anything. He however quickly regained his rationality lest he did something stupid. Yuu knew that what he was experiencing was merely a rush of euphoria due to his body surpassing a boundary rarely crossed by the human race of the shinobi world.

After getting a grasp of his new capabilities, Yuu decided to rest. He did not rest in this same house but rather chose another hideout far from here. This was because when he had broken through to Kage level, his chakra had leaked though his chakra concealing seal. Although done momentarily, Yuu didn't take any chances.

'Best to stay under the radar'

And he was right as a few moments after he had left, he sensed multiple chakra signatures arriving at his previous location. Employing his genjutsu, he approached them invisibly and listened in on their conversation.

"....I'm sure the chakra pulse originated from here. We all sensed it." Said a man in a grey combat uniform. Judging by his chakra levels, he was an elite jonin.

Another man came and placed his hand on the Jonin's shoulder.

"No one is doubting you Yashiro, I too sensed that the chakra originated from here." Said a young boy around Yuu's age with a scar running down his left eye.

The sight of the young boy shocked Yuu however what shocked him ever more were the two types of chakra he sensed within the boy. One was pure and powerful at elite jonin level based on its quantity. The other however was deep, dark and gave of a feeling of vastness like an ocean. Its sheer quantity made Yuu's new Kage chakra levels look like a joke.

The boy turned towards the three other shinobi accompanying him.

"Spread out and find whoever set off this chakra but do not engage him. Judging by the levels and purity, we might be dealing with a Kage level shinobi. Upon contact, send a signal flare and await my arrival."

"Yes Mizukage" said the four shinobi in unison before quickly departing in search of Yuu using the high-speed body flicker technique.

Yuu, who had distanced himself after sensing the vast chakra with the little boy, was shocked by what he heard.

'To think the Mizukage would come personally to search for me. This must be Obito's handiwork. Nevertheless, my plan doesn't change.'

Traveling even further, covered by his invisibility, Yuu arrived at another abandoned house near the very edge of Kirigakure. Creating a hole 30 meters underground in the house's basement with filtration holes leading to the surface, Yuu finally settled down ready to rest for the night.

Meanwhile Yagura Karatachi and the elite jonin searched the area for most of the night but unfortunately, they could only return to their camp empty handed with no results.

The next day Yuu disguised himself and left the village heading far towards the end of the Land of Water. After an entire day's journey, he managed to arrive in a secluded hilltop area devoid of people while being next to a beach connecting to the vast oceans which served his purpose.

Yuu spent the next few days carving out a large chamber underneath the hill with multiple passageways and exits which he laid traps in just in case he was discovered and needed to make a quick gateway.

After that Yuu finally got to the reason why he had come to this place. He began his training. Over the course of the last few couple of weeks he had killed a large number of shinobi and assimilated their vast knowledges and experiences which he now planned to properly assimilate. While his powers acclimated their achievements, skills and experiences into his body, soul and brain, he still needed to practise a bit in order to fully understand and get used to his new capabilities.

********Two and a half months later *******

Yuu could be seen standing on top of a tree holding a kunai. Beneath him was an Elite Jonin who was standing guard awaiting the arrival of supplies from a supply team. Judging by the water drop clan symbol on his back, he belonged to the Hozuki clan.

Yuu glanced at the shinobi, calculating his attack. When ready he threw a kunai at an average speed which shockingly pierced through the elite Jonin's head causing him to fall on the ground dead. This was shocking because the jonin should have been able to sense a kunai thrown at such a horrible speed and dodged it and yet he hadn't. This was shocking because even a Genin would have been able to dodge such a strike let alone an Elite Jonin. So why couldn't he?

'Yes! I've finally mastered my new technique' thought Yuu in joy as he landed next to the dead shinobi. Yuu managed to master all the fighting techniques and Justus he had assimilated in the first month. The remaining one month and a half was spent on perfecting his current main form of combat, the Kurama clan bloodline techniques.

In mastering these techniques, he had also fixed a certain aspect in his techniques which he had found lacking. You see most of the times a shinobi is affected with genjutsu, they immediately sense it and disrupt their chakra releasing them from its hold. But how is it possible for a shinobi to tell whether they are under a genjutsu other than of course the obvious factors in some of them like the Hell viewing genjutsu which makes their enemies see their surroundings as he'll itself.

The answer is instinct.

You see most if not all genjutsu are meant to deceive the five senses: sight, taste, touch, smell, hear. This however leaves a fatal flaw which enables most shinobi to break out of most genjutsu. Instinct. That feeling in your very being that warns you of imminent danger, that tells you that what you are seeing, or feeling might not be real. The more powerful your instincts, the easier it is to be aware of your reality and hence break out of the cast illusions. This is why most shinobi look down on genjutsu users as most shinobi, having experienced life and death situations countless times possess extremely powerful instincts and the more powerful the shinobi, the greater their instincts and hence the easier it is for them to detect and disperse genjutsu illusions.
