Chapter Eleven: Back on Track

~Naruto POV~

Sitting in the academy classroom only one thought came to mind, if only boredom could kill. These days going to the academy just like the rest of the kids my age. I only had the goal to dominate my generation, but little did I know that I was too prepared. The only challenge I ever faced was ninja history and theory which only lasted for a short while since I had a century old tailed beast inside myself that experienced that same history who could tell me the answers. In the other classes I always came first and didn't get fired up by any other student or teacher as I continued to learn absolutely nothing. The only interesting details in my academy life was the hateful gazes of the civilian students and teachers who keep trying to sabotage my grades with faulty equipment and forged test results, especially Miuzki-Sensei. It doesn't matter since I will get some payback but since master wanted me to not act out I can only wait for now. Other things that happened during this time was my meeting with the arrogant star student, Sasuke Uchiha. I never know what he's thinking most of the time, acting like he is above everyone when he is only second best compared to me. Sasuke always tries to challenge me and follow me after school to figure out how I became so strong and instigates a new competition with me on anything he could think of. At one point he challenged me to see who could eat ramen faster, that was the only time since entering the academy I got serious. Lost in thought, I heard a voice thus directing my attention back onto the classroom.

Iruka: "Naruto! Stop spacing out and pay attention to the class!"

"Iruka-sensei, just continue the class and I will just do my own thing. I will get the best marks even if I don't pay attention."

Iruka's face proved that I was right and he couldn't argue against my comment. The rest of the class had hateful looks in their eyes, especially Sasuke who also couldn't refute this well known fact.

Iruka: "Please at least try to care."

"Whatever will get this conversation to end."

After a long while the day ended, I was walking home when I saw Sasuke brooding more than usual.

"What's up Sasuke-teme?"

"Nothing dobe"

I took a quick look past him to see a very desolate Uchiha district to finally understand Sasuke's situation.

'I guess masters plan occurred recently, well time to nurture a rival.'

"I think I can understand why you're acting this way and I'm sorry for what happened to your clan."

Sasuke looked at me with sadness in his eyes as I'm pretty sure he has acknowledged me both in strength and as a friend in his own way. Tears began to fall on the ground as the arrogant Uchiha unlocked his hidden pain and sorrow.

Sasuke: "Itachi...killed...everyone and left, forcing me to hate my brother and average the clan."

"How about you get strong enough to defeat me before you go after your brother," 'and maybe find out the real reason he did this later.'

Sasuke: "Don't worry about it, I know I'm not as strong as you let alone Itachi. I'll grow stronger and defeat you, then go after my brother."

"At least you have some goals, but even so I won't stop training and wait for you to catch up."

Sasuke: "Naruto, I acknowledge you as my rival and friend, please train me to get stronger."

'Mission accomplished! This is going to be fun.'

"Sure, let's head to the training grounds to build your foundation."

Sasuke: "Why do I feel some danger for my life."

"I guess Uchiha can predict incoming threats."

Sasuke: "What does that mean?"

"I acknowledge you as one of the few geniuses I know due to your foresight on the type of training we will do."

Sasuke stayed silent while I realised the potential he had as not many people can sense the danger of hellish training.

~Last night, Obito POV~

I warped outside of Konoha at the dead of night awaiting my partner in crime.

"Today is the day Itachi Uchiha is recruited into the akatsuki."

Itachi: "Only if you keep your end of the deal and remember to leave my brother otherwise the higher ups of Konoha will know your recent activities."

"Don't worry, I'll keep my word."

Itachi: "Let's begin."

"Sure."

Immediately I warped to the Konoha police department and began my slaughter. The department was discussing their idiotic rebellion plan so they were preoccupied and didn't guard a single entrance. I opened the door and rushed in, the shocked expressions of the Uchiha members gave me a few quick kills before they realised their situation. The attacks began with some taijutsu. I activated my Kamui ability to phase through all of the attacks while I kept attacking. Some tried to escape but thanks to my sharingan no one would be able to get out of this alive. Finishing off my easy part of the massacre I headed to the meeting point outside of the village.

~Meanwhile, Itachi POV~

If only it hadn't come to this, but a civil war will lead to the end of Konoha so this is the only way. I made this choice and I will keep to it. This may only be a small scale battle as this world will have to prepare for whatever Madara has planned and I will protect it from the shadows even if I'm hated by everyone, including Sasuke.

'Self-sacrifice.'

I snuck into each house in the Uchiha district killing every man, women and child I could see. Steeling my heart I continued with the massacre of my clan and finally it was time to kill my parents. I was heading over when I saw my father in the middle of the street and then he body flickered into our house.

Fugaku: "I will not fight my own son, just continue on this path you have chosen and know that we are proud of you."

Mikoto: "Please take care of Sasuke!"

"I will."

Tears ran down my face as I was heading over to kill my own parents only to watch them commit suicide. I don't think I could have done the deed so they made the decision for me.

"Time to deal with Sasuke." muttering to myself, I went outside the house to find Sasuke return from his personal training.

Sasuke: "Nii-san, everyone is dead!"

"I know, I was the one who killed them to test my powers..."

The conversation continued with me putting him in my tsukuyomi showing him the deaths of our clan members repeatedly. Leaving him unconscious on the street I headed towards Madara outside of the village.

Madara (Obito): "You are no longer a leaf shinobi and are now a member of the akatsuki. You will be admitted as a regular member and will get a teammate at a later date."

Itachi: "Understood."

~Kosuke POV~

Sitting on my throne with Night Zetsu beside me, Shisui appeared before me and kneeled.

Shisui: "Master, Obito has helped Itachi massacre the Uchiha clan and is heading towards Amegakure. The rest of the members are waiting for their and my arrival"

"That's good, in the akatsuki you will be known as Pain as Obito will be called Tobi. Head over there to meet them and start gathering funds for future plans. Make sure to keep Itachi from learning any secrets as he will act as a spy for the leaf."

Shisui: "Understood!"

'Itachi will be used until his last moment, the plans I have set will make this world different from the original. Sasuke will be a time bomb that will grow to hate the leaf village over time as he spends time with his rival Naruto who he will never be able to surpass leading up to Itachi getting killed. I had a theory that every Indra reincarnation had a brother who would give his sharingan to the reincarnate to prevent the 'curse of hatred' blindness. Madara got his younger brother Izuna's eyes to prevent blindness and since Madara prolonged his life Itachi was born before Sasuke. That would also be the reason for Itachi's brother-complex, thus I can't fully trust this genius enough to control him as a subordinate so I will only manipulate him and toss him aside once he has served his purpose.'

"Night Zetsu, I believe its time to collect the second tailed beast. Tell Obito to follow the plan and head over to Kirigakure once he collects her."

Night Zetsu: "I will get it done master."

'This sacrificial lamb I have nurtured is finally going to be useful. That's the only reason she survived until now, I can't wait. This will also test Obito's loyalties and I hope that he won't disappoint.'
