Chapter 29 Scarlet

Cleo can't take the tension in the room anymore and decided to buy food for Valerie and stock some as well for his upcoming journey with Leah.

"Young man! Quick! You need to get out of here!" says by the Innkeeper relieve that he saw Cleo first.

"What's wrong?" asked by Cleo in a worried tone.

"Lady Camilla wiped out almost the entire SwordSaints Guild and she is heading this way. Isn't your acquaintance from the same guild? I only receive this information from one of the patron and I don't think he's lying." explained by the innkeeper

Cleo's eyes widened by the grave news.

"Quickly! There is a back exit behind the last room at the right. I'm risking a lot here but my intuition is telling me I'm doing the right thing. Go now before I change my mind." followed by the innkeeper while giving Cleo the key to the room.

Cleo snapped out of his shocked state.

'Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! What is this situation we got ourselves involve into.' says by Cleo inwardly while grabbing the room key from the innkeeper and rushing back to their room.

"L-lady Camilla what are we doing here? Shouldn't we report to the King what happened to the SwordSaints Guild?" asked by a knight with a full silver plate with a worried tone.

"You're sounding more like that old goat just shut up! That Crusader girl, I change my mind, I want her to join my personal army with a little convincing she will." says by Camilla while dragging a half naked middle age man with a rope on its neck.

Camilla and her Knights reach the Inn where the previous Knights dropped her off.

"Search every room and detained any suspicious person. Bring the Crusader girl to me." ordered by Camilla while going in the direction of the innkeeper.

Almost an hour passed by the Knights return empty handed which irritate Camilla. While the Knights were searching she tried to probe information from the innkeeper but she failed.

"I kind a like this inn, old man. How about you tell me where is the Crusader girl my Knights dropped off yesterday here?" says by Camilla while brandishing a knife.

"L-lady Camilla as I've said earlier she left yesterday after a few hours sleeping here." answered by the innkeeper. Fear can be seen in his eye, huge droplets of sweat pouring on his forehead and his hands are shaking while serving Camilla an ale.

"This is the last time my mouth will do the negotiation old man. Where is the Crusader girl?" asked by Camilla while stabbing the counter with her knife.

The Knights that are with her turn around and escorted all the other patrons outside the establishment.

"P-please Lady Camilla I'm loyal to the Kingdom and I don't know where she went nor the two siblings." answered by the innkeeper with a desperate tone. The overwhelming fear made him slip and say more information than he needed to.

"Siblings? What color is their hair?" asked by Camilla while getting her knife and pointing it to the innkeeper's neck.
