Chapter 100 Illithids

The aroma of lavender and wild berries spreads throughout the room by seeping in through the crevices and the window of the room. Natural light that's coming from the sun rays illuminates it. The room has a fancy decorations and a huge round table at the middle.

"Seth didn't made it, we were too late. His apprentice manage to survive long enough to inform us about this black book." Siegfried said while taking out a black book from his spatial ring. "He told us Seth got it from someone at the black market. We tried investigating it after we've dealt with the Illitihid that got summoned but it didn't lead us anywhere." he added.

"So this creatures called Illithids, did it say something about their goals?" Delmira asked. "They look like intelligent creatures but their actions recently proves otherwise." she added. Pertaining to the invasion at her domain that happened earlier this day.

"These creatures are arrogant and proud, the one we manage to kill call itself D'ralbir." Siegfried said. "I don't know about their true goal but the one that sticks to me with all the talking it does is they're looking for brains that have higher quality however we don't know what they're doing with the brains they collected." he added.

Delmira looks outside the window, deep in her thoughts.

"What do you two think?" Delmira asked without turning around.

Cleo and Leah that are sitting at the opposite side of the table flinches when the protector suddenly ask them. In both of their minds they really don't know why are they even here at the first place. They are also not that close to the protector, this is only the second time they meet her after all, the first one was when she intervene at Alger and Camilla's fight.

The two red heads nods at each other.

"We do not know if this really happened in the past. Leah had a vision of some sort." Cleo said. Since they also want to know more about these creatures, just in case they encounter one in the future, they both decided to cooperate with the protector for now.

Leah proceed to narrate the vision she saw back at the abandoned cathedral to both the protector and Siegfried. The two listener have different reaction, while the protector looks calm and unfazed by the story, Siegfried on the other hand looks more shock.

Lance and Siegfried might not be that close to each other however they still come from the same training ground and are acquainted to each other. Even if they didn't goes at the same training ground, Lance Artin made a name for himself, enough for almost all aspiring Knights and Crusaders to know him.

"He's really dead..." Siegfried muttered to himself.

After listening to the story of Leah, Delmira brings out two necklace from her spatial ring. She then gives one of it to Siegfried while the other one to Leah.

"Keep this with you at all times, it has the skill Lesser Draconic Protection, it will protect you from certain mental attacks." Delmira said while winking at Cleo. She knew full well that Cleo copied her Draconic Protection so she didn't bother to give a weaker version of it to him anymore.

Leah notice the protector's sly wink and gives her a piercing stare. She already knew Cleo's replication skill so it make sense for the protector to not give Cleo one but she can't help but to react that way because of the protector's playfulness.

"This is just a theory on my part." Delmira said once things calm down a little. "This Illithids, they might be targeting God's Chosen. "Brusgror Bronzebeard was one as well and base on Leah's story and the information I gathered, he is the only one that got taken away while the other two got killed." she added.

Siegfried eye's widened in shock. This might be the only time he wishes he is not one himself.

"Don't worry, I will do everything I can to help stop them." Delmira assured them. "If it'll make you feel safe, you can stay at my domain until things gets resolves." she offered.

Siegfried wants to take the offer however he is in foreign land and he is not sure if he can fully trust Delmira, after all there's still a conflict between the two kingdom.

"Thank you for your offer Protector but I will feel more calmer if I am with my Guild Mates back at Lavierre Kingdom." Siegfried said.

The protector just nods at him, acknowledging his decision.

"How about you two?" Delmira then turn towards the two red heads.
