Chapter 101 Black Book
The sun is starting to set, the natural light that's illuminating the room before is now being lit by a fancy hanging candelabras.
"How about you two? Would you like to stay here for now?" Delmira asked the two red heads.
While waiting for their answer, Siegfried bids his farewell and left the black book in the possession of the protector. He thought that the protector has more resources than him so maybe she can find more about the origin of the black book that they got from Seth.
Once Siegfried left the premise, the protector asks the two red head once again. She really want them to stay here, in her mind they are both too young to have complete mastery of their skills and too young to die at the hands of the Illithids.
After pondering for several minutes Cleo and Leah decided that it's best for the both of them to stay at the protector's domain. They sensed that the protector doesn't have any malice with her intentions.
Cleo put his full trust at Leah's intuition, base from their previous experience even back at their previous world, she's usually right when it comes to sensing people.
"I'm glad you both decided to stay here, we will prepare a room for you two. In the meantime feel free to go outside and check the beautiful greeneries. I am quite proud of my gardens." Delmira said while puffing her chest out.
To avoid unnecessary tension, Cleo quickly accept the offer of the protector and turn his head around from the tempting mountains and take Leah's hand so they can get out of the room.
The protector just smiles at the two red heads before ordering one of her maid to prepare a room for the two.
Once the maid leaves the room, Delmira sits at one of the chair and her left eye starts glowing with a gold hue.
"Serra, God's Gift: Temperance, Ezekiel, God's Gift: The Hanged Man, Arthur, God's Gifts: The Chariot, Clyde, God's Gifts: The Magician." she muttered. "I didn't have the chance to meet with The Magician in person, I hope it's not too late." she added.
She already met Serra and Ezekiel with Siegfried back when the treaty between the two kingdoms is being negotiated. As for Arthur she met him on the way to the cave where Camilla and Alger fought, though they didn't have a proper conversation at that time due to urgency, she manage to confirm that he is indeed The Chariot.
As for Clyde she didn't met him even once since if not for Camilla attacking him at his own home, Clyde always stays in the shadow.
Delmira waves her hand, after a few minutes, the orc that escorted Siegfried and the two red heads earlier appear in front of her and bows before her.
"Go investigate anyone who have the name Clyde in Zirracania. Do not engage and especially don't get find out." she ordered.
"As you wish protector." The orc answered.
Once the orc leaves the room, Delmira then turn her attention at the black book Siegfried gave her.
She tried reading it but aside from the Abyssal Magic that was used by Seth to summoned an Illithid, the rest of the book doesn't make sense to her.
She recognizes the runes but the way it was arranged is the one that's throwing her off.
"This is weird, even if I interchange the position of some of the runes it still doesn't make sense but why is this single spell completely understandable." she muttered while tapping her slender fingers at the black book.
Delmira let out a loud sigh of exasperation and store the black book in her spatial ring. She plans to copy the book and give it to some of the people she knows personally if they can figure out something about the black book.
One upside of being the protector of a huge alliance is having multiple connections around the kingdom so finding at least one person who can decipher this book is not impossible, at least that's what running in her mind.
