The moonlight bathed the Zenin estate in a cold, eerie glow as Maki and Izuku approached.
The hour of doom was upon them, as both Izuku and Maki moved forward, their breaths steady despite the tension in the air. Memories of past torment and mistreatment fueled Maki's every step, her grip tightening on the naginata Izuku had given her. Tonight, she would claim her revenge and settle the score once and for all.
They slipped through the gate, Maki's cursed eye quirk activated, ready to give anyone that crosses her path a nightmare of their life. Her vision sharpened, taking in every detail with painful clarity. This whole compound was filled with Maki's screams, there wasn't a single area left where Maki wasn't baaten or treated like a punching bag.
Her eyes met Izuku's; his supportive nod was all the reassurance she needed. They moved through the alleyways leading to the main hall, their presence like shadows in the night.
As they approached the grand entrance, Maki's heart pounded with anticipation and rage. The familiar surroundings were a stark reminder of the cold nights and harsh treatment she had endured. She glanced at Izuku one last time before they burst through the door of the main hall with explosive force.
The sound of the door crashing open echoed through the hall, drawing the attention of the Zenin clan members. Weapons were quickly drawn as shock and confusion spread across their faces. Maki's father, the head of the clan, stepped forward, anger and confusion contorting his features.
"Maki, what is the meaning of this?" he barked, his voice echoing in the cavernous hall.
Maki's eyes blazed with fury. "This is for every beating, every insult, every night I was left to freeze outside like I was nothing!"
Without warning, Maki lunged forward, her first target a sneering cousin who had often mocked her. He barely had time to react before Maki's fist connected with his jaw, the sickening crunch of bone echoing in the room. Blood sprayed from his mouth as he crumpled, lifeless.
A guard lunged at her from the side, but Maki spun with lethal grace, her naginata flashing. The blade sliced clean through his midsection, blood and viscera spilling onto the floor. The room filled with the metallic scent of blood and the panicked shouts of her so-called clan members.
Izuku moved with precision, deflecting attacks aimed at Maki but letting her take the lead. She was a whirlwind of rage and skill, each move calculated and devastating. Her strikes were precise, her movements fluid and unrelenting. Every swing of her naginata was a blur, every strike lethal.
Alarms blared throughout the estate, summoning more guards and clan members. Maki's mother, standing near the back, tried to intervene, tears streaming down her face. "Maki, please, we're still your family!"
Maki's voice was a growl, dripping with venom. "Family? You abandoned me when I needed you most!" She lashed out, her naginata cleaving through another attacker's neck, blood arcing through the air as the head hit the ground with a dull thud.
"You only care now because I'm strong!" Maki shouted, driving her naginata into another clan member's chest, the blade piercing through with a wet crunch. She yanked it free, the body slumping lifelessly to the floor.

Timeline:- When Maki and Momo came to meet Eri.
Maki sat on the edge of her bed, staring at the hero license in her hand. It felt surreal. She had earned it without even taking the exams, thanks to her performance in the sports festival which was a really good and believable explanation for Izuku's actions.
Her phone buzzed, jolting her from her thoughts. She glanced at the screen. It was an unknown number. Hesitating for a moment, she picked it up and answered.
"Maki? Maki, is that you?" came the familiar voice of her mother.
A chill ran down Maki's spine. She hadn't heard from her parents in years. They had abandoned her, left her to fend for herself when she needed them the most. Now, out of the blue, they were calling her?
"It's me," Maki replied, her voice cold and guarded.
"Oh, Maki, we've missed you so much," her mother continued, her voice dripping with sweetness. "We saw your performance in the sports festival. We're so proud of you!"
Maki's grip tightened on the phone. 'Pride? You had abandoned me. How are you suddenly proud of me, rather why are you so proud of me? It should be Izuku who's proud of me, and the girls, and they are.' Maki thought with anger.
"Why are you calling?" Maki asked, her tone sharp.
"Maki, sweetheart, we realized our mistakes," her father chimed in. "We were wrong to abandon you. We shouldn't have been that harsh to you. We were under so much pressure, but now we understand. Please, forgive us. We want to be a family again."
Maki could hear the fake sincerity in their voices. It made her stomach turn. "You left me," she said, her voice trembling with barely suppressed rage. "You abandoned me when I needed you the most."
There was a brief silence on the other end before her mother spoke again, this time with a hint of desperation. "Maki, we were scared. We didn't know what to do. But we never stopped loving you."
"Love?" Maki spat out the word. "You call that love? You left me to fend for myself that too in a freezing cold night. Do you have any idea what that did to me? How did I survive it? Or where I was?"
Her father sighed. "We made mistakes, Maki. But we've changed. We want to make it right. We want you back in our lives. Please, come home."
Maki felt an unprecedented rage bubbling up inside her. The nerve of them, to think they could waltz back into her life with sweet words and empty promises. "You think you can just come back and everything will be fine?" she demanded. "You think you can erase the years of pain and abandonment with a few kind words?"
"Maki, please," her mother pleaded. "We love you. We want to support you now. We want to be there for you."
"Support me?" Maki laughed bitterly. "You want to support me now that I'm successful? Now that I'm famous? This isn't about love. It's about your greed. You see me as a trophy, a way to boost your own image."
Her parents' silence was deafening. Maki knew she had hit the mark.
"We just want our family back," her father said finally, his voice softer now, almost pitiful.
"No," Maki said firmly. "You want the benefits that come with having a hero for a daughter. You don't care about me. You never did."
"Maki, that's not true!" her mother protested. "We care about you. We want to be a part of your life."
"You had your chance," Maki replied, her voice steely. "And you blew it. Don't think you can manipulate me with your fake care and emotional blackmail. I see right through you."
"Okay, atleast meet her once, if you still don't like it, we won't contact you," asked her father as a last ditch effort.
"Fine, send the date I'll come," Said Maki, and with that, she hung up the phone, her hands shaking with anger. She sat there for a long time, breathing heavily, trying to calm the storm of emotions inside her. She had expected this day to come, but it didn't make it any easier.
Maki looked at her hero license again. She had earned this on her own, without their help. She didn't need them. She was strong. She was a hero. And no one could take that away from her.
"Why don't you meet them, you know to repay for all the good things they did to you," Izuku's voice came from behind Maki as he sat besides Maki, his voice was filled with sarcasm as Maki understood what Izuku meant.
"Yeah, I'll pay them a last visit, but I want you to come with me, like you went with Kaina nee san," demanded Maki as she sat on Izuku's lap.
"Of course, that goes without saying love," said Izuku stroking Maki's hair.
