Fuyumi sat alone in her room, her thoughts swirling with the memories of her meeting with Izuku. She couldn't shake the feeling of sadness and longing that lingered within her.
Meeting Izuku after so long had stirred up a whirlwind of emotions within her. She had missed him terribly during his absence, and seeing him again had brought both joy and sorrow. Joy, because he was safe and sound, and sorrow because she couldn't deny the pain she felt knowing he had been through so much.
As she thought back on their conversation, Fuyumi couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy at the thought of Izuku being so close to those other girls. She knew they had been through hardships together, but a part of her couldn't help but wish she could have been there for him instead.
But amidst the jealousy, there was also a deep sense of admiration for Izuku. Despite all his challenges, he remained strong and determined to protect those he cared about. His selflessness touched her heart, and she couldn't help but feel grateful to have him in her life.
As she contemplated her feelings, Fuyumi realized that she needed to make a decision. She couldn't continue to pine after Izuku while he devoted himself to others. But as she acknowledged her jealousy, another emotion began to bubble up within her—a feeling she hadn't fully recognized until now.
She couldn't pinpoint what exactly was she feeling so she decided to discuss it with her mother, Rei Todoroki
Fuyumi sat across from her mother, Rei Todoroki, in their cozy living room. The soft glow of the evening sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm light over their conversation.
Currently, they were the only ones in the whole house, Endeavour was out for Hero duty, Shoto was training in UA gym, and Natsuo was out to meet friends, and none of them were gonna come any time soon so that Fuyumi could discuss things with her mother without any worry, or anyone listening in on them.
"Mom, I need to talk to you about something," Fuyumi began, her voice hesitant but determined.
Rei looked up from the book she had been reading, concern flickering in her eyes. "Of course, dear. What's on your mind?"
Taking a deep breath, Fuyumi hesitated for a moment before speaking. "It's about Izuku."
Rei's brows furrowed slightly in surprise. "Izuku? Is everything alright?" Rei knew the state her daughter had been in for the past year had been because of Izuku, and even she felt guilty on learning that one more kid lost his life for the stupid dream of becoming a hero.
For others, it might not be a stupid dream, but for a mother who lost her eldest son over the dream of becoming a hero, she considered it to be a foolish dream.
Fuyumi nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Yes, everything's fine. It's just... I saw him today, Mom. After so long, I talked to him."
Rei's eyes widened in surprise and then softened with understanding. "Ah, I see. How was he? Is he doing well? Thank God he's alive!"
Fuyumi nodded again, her smile widening. "I'm really glad he's alive, infact he's doing better than ever. But... seeing him, it feels like he's changed a lot, seeing him with those other girls, Mom, it made me feel... jealous."
Rei asked out of confusion, "Which girls?"
Fuyumi narrated the whole thing, how he identified who Izuku was, and confronted him, he told everything about the last whole year, and what Izuku's been doing, excluding all the killing parts.
Rei's expression softened even further on listening to the whole story, and she reached out to gently pat Fuyumi's hand. "Oh, sweetheart. It's perfectly normal to feel that way, especially when you care for someone as deeply as you do for Izuku.
You made the whole world your enemy, just to find Izuku, that's not just care dear, that's love, you love him!" Said Rei.
"Love? What I feel for Izuku, is it love, mother?" Asked Fuyumi, unable to understand her own emotions.
"Of course darling, the way you have searched for Izuku, the way you have been, hellbent on just finding Izuku, not caring about anything else, that's love, you are also feeling jealousy, seeing him with some other girl.
I saw your expressions, these emotions are when a person is jealous seeing their partner being with someone else.
Although I might not have had the privilege of falling in love with someone or marrying the person I love, due to my family's financial condition, still, I still have enough experience to know what you are feeling is jealousy.
As far as him being in love with those girls, well Izuku saved their lives, he protected them when they needed it, and it was obvious they were gonna fall in love, given the number of losses each of them had gone through, it was bound to happen, and it shouldn't matter much to you love, if you love him, and he loves you, nothing matters, talk with him," explained Rei, happy that Fuyumi found someone she loved and that Izuku was alive and well.
Fuyumi sighed, relief flooding through her at her mother's understanding. "I know, but... I didn't realize until today just how much I care for him. Seeing him happy with others, made me realize that I want to be the one by his side."
Rei smiled gently, her eyes filled with maternal warmth. "That sounds like the jealousy of a lover, my dear. It's a powerful emotion, but it can also be a catalyst for change. If you truly care for Izuku, then don't be afraid to show him how you feel."
Fuyumi nodded, her determination renewed. "I won't, Mom. I'll do whatever it takes to win his heart."
Rei squeezed Fuyumi's hand reassuringly. "I know you will, sweetheart. Just remember to take care of yourself in the process. Your happiness is important too."
With her mother's support bolstering her resolve, Fuyumi felt a sense of optimism wash over her. She may have just realized her feelings for Izuku, but she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. And with her mother by her side, she knew she could overcome anything.
"There's something I didn't say, Mom," Fuyumi said.
"What?" asked Rei.
"About what Izuku did for the past year," said Fuyumi as she told everything Izuku did up till now.
Rei had a solemn expression as she listened to everything.
Once Fuyumi finished, Rei said, "That's a really serious matter, Fuyumi. You need to make sure that Izuku doesn't have any ulterior motives, and if killing is the only option or if is there any alternative. After all, he is the most wanted man in Japan currently, and he would never betray you. As for me, your safety and well-being are my utmost priority."
Rei didn't say anything about staying away from Izuku as orthodox parents do. She knew if she said that, the chances of Fuyumi rebelling were very high, and she might just leave everything and go to Izuku. After all, she was sure Fuyumi was deeply in love with him.
And the things she has heard about Izuku up till now, Izuku seems like a good guy. Well, he is going around killing people, but the thing common between all the killings is they were criminals, and Izuku has never harmed any innocent.
And with all the abuse he has gone through, Rei was confident that Izuku was someone who had his heart in the right place. So all she wanted was to make sure Izuku wasn't using her and not doing anything that could break her heart. After all, Endeavour is far from an ideal husband, who has indulged in domestic violence, so she cannot comment about Izuku being a criminal, all she hopes is Izuku won't hurt her daughter.
"Just make sure you are happy with him, and call him, I want to meet him in person," said Rei as she wanted to see who was this Izuku whom she had heard a lot about and who had made his daughter fall head over heels in love with.
With a newfound determination, Fuyumi said, "Sure, I'll let him know," Fuyumi stood up with a happy smile on her face as she went to her room.
Rei felt happy seeing her daughter finally smile like before, but she had made a silent vow to herself. She would make sure Izuku is right for her daughter and will protect her from every problem the world throws at her, and not break her heart, that was the hidden motive with which she had in meeting Izuku.
Afterall she's a mother, she'll always care for her daughter's well-being and safety.
Fuyumi, happy to get her mother's acceptance, decided to do whatever it took to win Izuku's heart, to show him that she was the one meant to be by his side. She would make efforts to spend more time with him, to show him just how much she cared.
As she made her decision, a sense of hope blossomed within Fuyumi's heart. She may have been late to realize her feelings, but she was determined to make up for lost time. And with Izuku by her side, she knew that anything was possible.
