Chapter 9: Ashina's wish

RAIN'S POV

     I get that I am coming back to consciousness as I could feel my surrounding. The wind is warm, and the shape smell seems familiar but this time ten times harder. It smells like written fruits, old wounds, wet clothes, and something new.

     It smells fresh, like fresh kiwi, fresh woods, and coffee. The smell feels so comforting that I inhaled deeply and smiled. Opening my eyes to see a faint figure standing in front of me where I laid down, I panicked.

    Staring at the figure in front of me, I can recognize that as no one but Alpha Rex's beta. The room looks familiar but light, you know, the room that I am familiar with isn't too bright as this and it made me want to imagine that I am with the moon goddess.

     Slowly, memories of what happened yesterday began to evolve itself. How I shifted! It was excruciating and I don't think I can do that again.

   Wait a minute! Did I survive it? Is that why this place is so bright and cold? Is this why I feel somehow exposed and empty? Is this what the afterlife feels like?

     I first coiled myself more into a ball but I could not take it, not when I can hear his heartbeat faintly. Stretching a bit, I felt a cold wind from under my leg to the back of my neck. It felt like a stranger tracing his fingers along with the chill and I freaked out.

    Feeling so disorientated I closed my eyes tight, filled my mouth with air, and let it out slowly. The hairs at the back of my neck raised as I felt my body ache, it felt like it was happening again, that pain, that agony I passed through while shifting.

      'This can't happen' I heard a voice in my head 'Relax Rain, Breath'.

      I sprang off my sleeping position only to realize that I have been sleeping on my bed. The fact that it seems a lot more comforting and less warm is amazing and yet creepy.

     This voice can't be in my head. It's like it's part of me but the voice is different. Not like the one I heard in my dream, not like the voice I heard in my head earlier.

      'Oh! am sorry, I have never introduced myself ' the voice said in a sassy kind of manner.

    Now that's it!

I am doomed! I am done forever.

    Getting the complete clear figure of the man in front of me, I can say he looks more like a villain. His left hand seems covered in tattoos, his hair long, long enough to be parked in a ponytail, and rolled in a messy bun.

      His gaze didn't look anything like his back view but I am wise enough to know he is no good. His brown matching outfit hugged his body tight so that I can guarantee that he should be having difficulty in breathing as he is staring at me in total shock.

     "You might need to lay back and..." He cleared his throat and pointed around my body "You are...".

    Holy shit!

   I am naked! I am naked!!

   'Of course, you are naked, I am naked too but inside of you' the voice in my head said 'I warned you to relax but you refused'.

    This part of being me should be a prank, right?

    They can't be someone messing with my head and I am not going crazy.

     "Rain? You are naked" The man in the room reminded me.

      This is too much to handle. Not the voice in my head from nowhere. Not me standing naked in front of this man in my room and I have no idea of what to do at this point.

     What my sluggish brain could do was only stare, stare, and stare until the door opened.

      'There he is?' The voice in my head scoffed.

    What a grand entry. Standing and glaring at me is Alpha Rex.

     Just as I last saw him, he wasn't smiling. No sign of happiness on his face and he looks more like he would kill someone maybe not me first as he wasn't glaring at me yet. His attention was fixed on the man standing in front of me.

     Seconds ago, I thought the man in front of me look intimidating only for me to see the Alpha.

     I can literally see his claws extend and black furs began to grow off his skin. Before I know what was happening both of his hands were covered in furs, at least where I could see which is his wrist and back of his hand.

      One thing I learned in my omega life is to apologize even if you have no idea of what you are doing and I did apologize anyway. I placed my palms together, fell on my knees, and began to shade tears.

      "It's all my fault" my lips quivered "Please I am so sorry, it won't happen again, please forgive me".

    Alpha Rex didn't say a word.

  His cold gaze just left the man in front of me as he growled. I can't tell what they were saying because I am sure they just mind-linked each other.

      This can't be about something that happens now, right? Not when the other man just nodded once and began to walk towards the door. At that moment, I know it would happen, but before I die, I sat on the floor.

     My face was buried in my knees as I crossed my ankles to cover my exposed private area.

      "I didn't mean to shift, Alpha Rex" I cried "If I can change it I would but I can't so I am sorry".

     He didn't answer but I know he was coming close because I could feel him, feel his footsteps, and can hear his heartbeat. The familiar smell of Kiwi, fresh wood, and Saw dust filled my nostrils. In great tremor, I looked to you see him now squatting in front of me.

       "Please don't hurt me" I shivered.

     Although that wasn't what I wanted to say, not when more than half percent of me wants him close. I have heard a lot about him, and how ruthless he is and I know I might end up in his dungeon.

    I close my eyes tight as I expect the worst but it didn't come. Instead, I felt his warm fingers caress my face same as his warm breath.

      'Is he sniffing us?' The voice inside of me asked.

    Before I could yell back at whosoever the person is to stay the hell out of my head, I hear the voice again but this time different.

     'I don't like people seeing what belongs to me" I heard him "Just a quick reminder, it is me, Alpha Rex and I want you to get prepared. You are going with me after the ball'.

Now wearing a worn-out sweatpant and oversize tee short that once belonged to Alpha Brook, I sat on the bed and stared at the door. The man from Alpha Rex has left since he saw me naked and his Alpha came in. I just hope I didn't get the man in trouble cause the Alpha looks extremely pissed.

    Even if, I can't stand it.

   I know I had always wished for a mate but not him, not the Mate that is ruthless and would probably kill me soon. Not the mate that didn't look happy to see me and even wants to deal with me for stealing a ring I have not seen In my entire life

    I get it, he didn't tell me that he is my mate but called me his, what does that mean?

     This Alpha personalized me!

      He said I belong to him, what else does that mean? How come is he even talking in my head, is that how the first person you shift near would be able to talk in your head? Or it's just a mate kinda connection?

    My eyes caught glimpse of his cloak and I picked it up. For a reason still yet known to me I find the smell so relaxing. It feels like a part of me loves it, loves how it makes part of me feel like I am finally fulfilled.

      'Thank goodness you're finally getting it together'.

   I flinched.

  Looking around as if trying to make sure I was the only one in my room, I cleared my throat. I tip-toed to the door, placed my ear on it, and waited for any reaction but none. could be the man with Alpha Rex got tired of me after all.

     'I don't know how to do this but I hope you understand' the voice inside of me said 'Hi Rain, my name is Ashina and....'.

     "Ashina?" I interrupted with a scoff "That sounds horrible.
