Chapter 7 Small Time Skip

The next 2 weeks flew by quickly as I got accustomed to the school and was currently on my way to Peter's house to hang out with him and Ned.

Well hang out is a tough description it is more like a tutoring lesson I guess. My grades were still declining which was to be expected.

It had been quite a while since I had last taken high school courses but I wasn't too bothered by my dropping grade. This sentiment however wasn't shared with Gwen who began harassing me to study and treat school seriously.

Heck even Peter and Ned began to offer me tutoring. Which has led me to my current predicament.

I am grateful that they want to help me improve my grades but what use was a high school diploma for me?

With just some points I could download the knowledge of science beyond that of even the best institutions. Meaning points were the most important thing and not studying.

This is exactly what I focused on for the last 2 weeks. I walked around campus trying to see if there was anyone I would recognize who could potentially give me more points. Which wasn't simple with hundreds of kids on campus.

I was aware of some students like Jean, Scott, Kitty, and Kurt but it was tough to go near them. For one they had special circumstances that allowed them to come only twice a week as a collaboration between Xavier's school for gifted youngsters and Midtown High already limiting my chances.

Then the the most important reason was quite obvious, Jean Grey one of the greatest telepaths alive. I did not want to risk exposing my mind to her. The system told me that it could cloud my thoughts to a certain point to protect itself but that didn't really give me confidence.

So just like that I avoided the future X-men like the plague at least until I found a way or method to hide my mind.

Despite those limitations, I was still able to gather some points from meeting Flash, Harry, and Mary Jane. However, I did experience some more insults in the process.

I couldn't help but shake my head as I thought about that encounter and really wondered why some people even liked Mary Jane as a character. Yeah, she was pretty but her kindness was like a facade.

She never once tried to defend Peter despite knowing that Flash bullied her childhood friend.

The movie even showed how much she hurt Peter time and time again. Yet even after all that he was always there for her and would always try to do better.

I'm definitely making sure this Peter doesn't end up with Mary Jane and who knows maybe in the process of being a good friend I'll gain some points making this a win-win.

Thinking of points I noted how I already had 70 and would probably gain 20 more after meeting Uncle Ben and Aunt May. At this point, all I had been doing was amassing points like a hoarder but I didn't have anything in mind of what I wanted to buy.

"What should I buy first?"

This question had been bothering me since I arrived in this new world.

Weapons were off the table at least for now. I'm pretty sure it isn't legal for a teenager to make guns and I'm pretty sure I'd end up getting taken by a group like Hydra. This also took armors off my list for similar reasons.

There was also the problem of money. Whatever I purchased first had to be something that was easy to produce and easily profitable to help with some of my plans like building a company. That I could use as a front for the technology I would create.

Then there was the problem of my own safety. At the moment I'm still just a regular human. Leaving me susceptible to even street thugs.

"System show me some items that are easy to make under the 70-point mark. Also, they must be easy to produce and nothing of military origin."

{A/N the programs do help him in knowing how to code using those specific techniques and advancements. They are not specific like how to make Cortona since I'm going to have AI's as their own seepage section in the shop. That doesn't stop him from building his own AI however}

[There were more options but these were the ones the system felt that the Host would have the easiest time Creating under his current circumstances]

"Hm, is that so thank you system"

[With Pleasure]

Looking back at the list my eyes couldn't help but drift to the NZT from one of my favorite movies and shows Limitless.

This drug had always intrigued me with its ability to release 100% of the Brain's potential granting a multitude of abilities.

Hypermind, Perfect recall, Instant learning, Instant analysis, Omniliguism, Charisma, Dexterity, Multitasking, Superhuman sensory/instincts, Hyper competence, and even enhanced synthesia.

However, like all drugs, the NZT also has its faults with memory loss and rapid aging just being two of many. Despite knowing this my mind couldn't look away.

The effects shouldn't be too bad if I just use it once… No, I better stop right there at least not till I purchase the cure from the system. Speaking of cure why didn't the System include it? Upon hearing this question the system quickly responded.

[Sorry Host but that would be because it is not currently feasible for you at the moment]

[The cure for the drawbacks requires rare ingredients that are simply out of the host's reach at the moment]

"Is this the case for the temporary cure as well?" I asked as I recalled how Eddie Morra developed a temporary way of removing the effects.

[Yes Host]

Hmm, well that's too bad but it's not like I'm out of options.

The rest of my walk carried on in this manner as I inspected each of the shop's options. Each one gave me various possibilities on how I would further progress in this world. With some even being a bit unsavory like the various drugs in the Fallout verse.

If I went that route I would easily rake in cash, especially by selling it in a place like hell's kitchen but let's be honest, It's way more trouble than what it's worth.

Well, I think I already know what I want to purchase I just hope it's a good first move. I can't waste my first purchase discount afterall.

[Host do you confirm your first purchase?]

[Yes/No]
