We were at Axel, looking at the gate... It was not at all impressive. With a sigh, I walked into the town.
"What's up?"
Ethan questioned, not even glancing my way. I grunted, not really wanting to speak right now, slightly disturbed by how easily I killed people.
Though, was it really that surprising? I have seen people die before.
"You think there will be a quest to the Twilight forest?"
I shrugged.
"Bitch, talk to me before I slap yo ass."
I glanced at him, raising an eyebrow and he just rolled his eyes.
"I don't know, I'm not a prophet, but if there isn't it's only a week's travel from here, two days if you figure out how to fly."
His head snapped to me, eyebrows raised.
"You can fly?"
I gave him a look, wondering what possessed him to think that I would not know how to fly yet.
"I can fly with wind magic and Gravity magic, I can make an earth platform, make it lighter, and lift it up to transport me through the air, I can freeze the-"
"Okay I get it, I feel dumb right now."
With his interruption, I stopped listing off things I could use to fly, which I was getting to the end of.
"Well, we might as well see if there is a quest for the forest, might as well make money, right?"
He just shrugged and nodded. We walked through the city, not really impressed with anything, unsurprising when you look at where we were coming from.
Finally reaching the adventurer guild building, since you would be an idiot to not notice it, we entered without much drama.
The building was not empty, people were adventurers were eating, taking quests, and talking to the receptionists. Who were all female, good marketing tactic.
Walking up to one of the receptionists, the one who was free, I presented my adventurer card.
"Hello, I would like to register as an adventurer, I already have a card."
I took it and looked it over, pausing at some places.
"Is this some sort of joke?"
I raised an eyebrow at the brunette woman.
"What is?"
I questioned, not really understanding what she was on about. Sure my level might be a bit high, but that does not really matter, does it?
"You are eleven and a level thirty-eight with an advanced class, don't even get me started about the stats."
I blinked at her for a moment, not really feeling like arguing with her.
"I don't really care about what you think, that is an adventurer card, you can not lie, on an adventurer card."
She frowned and handed the card back to me.
"Get out of here kid, you either register and get a real card or you get arrested for forging an adventurer card."
My eyebrow twitched at the audacity of this bitch.
I sighed and took out a pouch of our last money. Placing four coins on the counter I put the rest of the Eris back inside my inventory.
"Get me and my brother another card, make it fucking quick if you want this building standing by the end of the day."
She gave me a skeptical look but took the money nonetheless. Ethan and I followed her to the device that would make a card and without any prompting, I placed a hand when a blank card was in place, not even waiting for her to get the required papers I had to fill in the information.
"Hey, you haven't filled in the information yet-"
I cut her off by grabbing the new card and shoving it in her face. She got silent and looked over what was written there before her eyes widened.
"I... I'm sorry sir, please, let me give you a refund for the card."
I rolled my eyes as she walked over to the register and came back with two thousand Eris, the cost of two new cards to be registered.
She changed her tune really quickly, didn't she? So uncivilized...
"Do you want me to dispose of the card, sir?"
I looked at the said item in my hand and put it in my inventory, making a ball of fire to make it look like the card was destroyed.
"No need. Can you get the two of us registered now?"
She nodded so fast I thought her head would come off, but nevertheless, she led us back to the register and started doing her work.
Since we already had cards, we did not have to fill in anything and the rest of the process went smoothly and I got a free card out of it, neat.
Without further ado, I walked over to the quest board and looked through it. Toads... Rookie killer... Goblins... Ooh, a Fire Drake, nice, would have to get that one too.
I looked for anything that would lead to the twilight forest and found nothing. Sighing, I took the Fire Drake quest and walked over to the counter, but only to a different receptionist this time.
Taking the quest, I walked over to the table where Ethan had ordered me something to drink while he ate a fried frog.
I grabbed the mig of Ale while sitting down, took a gulp, and almost vomited my guts out. Swallowing painfully and putting the mug down on the table calmly.
Ignoring the drink, I gave Ethan the paper and he looked it over, raising an eyebrow. I understood the unspoken question.
"There were no quests for Twilight Forest, But this gives Five million Eris. We can split off and one of us can go to the forest to search for what we need and the other could go get us some money."
He hummed and chewed for a few seconds before swallowing.
"So, who will go for the overgrown Lizard?"
He brought up a good question and I thought about it. Both fights would be great Depending on how large the horde of the drakes was.
I pursed my lips.
"I'll take the lizards, you take the overlord. Maybe I can have some fun."
He nods and continues eating. I followed suit by taking another place of homemade food.
