Entering the Production Team

Three days after the official announcement, Liao Qing's call came. She arranged for a car to pick Bai Yun up and send her to the production team for the stills photoshoot. Moreover, because progress had been held up due to the fourth female lead's scandal, filming was to start immediately in hopes of completing everything within half a month.

Bai Yun readily agreed, as she had not received a good script or variety show invitation, and the advertisement offers were only some marginalized products with low commercial value. After packing her luggage, Bai Yun left for the filming location with Du Qing.

This time, some major scenes would be shot in the Forbidden City in the capital. After numerous discussions between the director and the National Propaganda Department, filming was allowed here for the first time since 'The Last Emperor' in the 90s. This was also one of the gimmicks of this drama.

The remaining scenes were mostly completed in the film studio outside the capital.

At the end of November, it snowed heavily in the capital. Du Qing, who lived in the south all year round, excitedly took photos of the heavy snow to send to her boyfriend and post on her WeChat Moments.

Seeing Du Qing lean against the window and blow hot air at it, Bai Yun wondered if this silly child would obediently lick the railing if she was asked to do so.

The sparkly-eyed Du Qing looked back at Bai Yun and asked in surprise, "Sister Yun, haven't you always been in the south? Why aren't you interested in the snow?"

"Because I don't like snow," she explained. Though, she didn't really dislike it. It was just that every year when she had to act in the snow, it was more strenuous.

The snow was deep. Within moments, the windows were coated with frost, and Bai Yun started feeling drowsy in the heated car.
