Chapter 58

Narrator Pov:

 Emma and Hannah got back soon after with the jeep and truck. They went in the Jeep with Hunter to go and get their vehicles. At the same time everyone else got into the truck and headed off. "Erin, get me directions to the police station," Jake says to the truck.

 "Of course," It responds, in a feminine voice, surprising everyone, but the soldiers who thought it was normal.

 "What the hell was that?!," They all say. The soldiers just look surprised but shrug it off, not getting involved.

 "I made some modifications, plus I can't remember where everything is in this city. If the police arrested Astrid she should be at the station, they can't have moved her away from there already. They would need to have a court session first," Jake replies.

 After following the directions for a while they arrive at the station. Jake gets out with Mia and Nikolia in tow, gun in hand. They walk in and immediately have 5 policemen with guns trained on them. "Freeze, put the gun down and your hands in the air," They say.

 "Nikolia of Viking Command. They're with me," Nikolia informs them. The police lower their guns, seeing the badge.

 "What can we do for you?," They ask.

 "We are here to see one Freya Fearless who was taken into custody around half an hour ago before the explosion went off," Nikolia informs them.

 "I'm sorry, but to my knowledge there have been no arrests for a person by that name," The one responds.

 "How about one Astrid Hofferson?," Jake asks.

 "Sorry, none for that person either," They respond again.

 "How about someone with braided blonde hair to the mid back and blue eyes?," Mia asks.

 "There was one for that person," They respond.

 "Name?," Nikolia asks.

 "Jane Doe," They respond.

 "Why were they arrested?," Nikolia asked.

 "For interfering with an investigation," They replied.

 "Let me get this straight, they were arrested for walking near a crime scene?," Jake asks.

 "No, they entered one," The police reply.

 "No, camera footage show that they were arrested for just getting close. Where are they?," Jake asks.

 "They are being transported to freezing to death," They reply.

 "Why?! They have not had a trial!," Nikolia says, losing it.

 "No, they did, they were put on trial when they got back, found guilty, and sent off," The police reply.

 "Was it public?," Mia asks.

 "Yes," They reply.

 "Then why was no one informed? Why were none of their family present? What earned them to be sent to freezing to death?," Nikolia asks.

 "No, everyone was informed. They have no next of kin. Plus they refused to have an attorney presented for them and even threatened the officers with death, and the destruction of this island," They answer.

 "That is a lie, we are the closest friends they have, they are engaged yet they weren't there, they would most definitely ask for an attorney, sure they have anger management issues but not to that degree, and they grew up on this island and love it very much so they would not threaten to destory it. But I assume you all heard this from the person in question?," Jake asks them.

 "Yes, why?," They ask.

 "Then you are working for Eugene, aren't you," Jake says, reaching a hand behind her back. Just then all officers raise their guns to shoot Jake dead. Jake responds by taking the katana and throwing it at them before taking a gun and shooting the rest down, not killing them before Nikolia can move, and the cops can fire.

 "You mind explaining what is going on?," Nikolia asks.

 "It was a set up, the court was played into making that decision. Every thing they attributed to as a crime to Astrid is a lie. Plus that last bit should have just made them tilt their heads. Instead they went for the kill, on me and you. The person in question tried to kill me and 9 others over 3 years ago. The only reason they sent Astrid to freezing to death is because that place is not kind to prisoners, much less women. That and I have an enemy there," Jake replies as they leave.

 "What do you mean by Enemy?," Nikolia asks.

 "I wouldn't ask her about that. I can tell you but it is a sore subject for Jake. Basically Jake was shot in the back at point blank range and left to die. The person responsible is in Freezing to Death," Mia answers.

 "I see," Nikolia says. With that they get into the truck. Then Jake calls someone on his phone.

 "Where are you?," Jake asks. "I see, I will be there then, stay with everyone else. An do that for me, will you, thanks," Jake ends the call.

 "What was that?," Nikolia asks.

 "Just a call. Take the truck and go meet up with Emma and Hannah," Jake says, getting out. Then, Hunter pulls up in the jeep and gets out, handing Jake the keys.

 "When will I see you again?," Hunter asks.

 "Don't know, thanks, watch over those two for me," Jake says. With that, Jake jumps into the Jeep and drives off.

 "What is going on?," Nikolia asks.

 "Lets just say a friend of ours was given an ultimatum. But, they are only involved because they happened to be nearby when something was slipped. Due to that, they were targeted, but only 3 people actually know the location. Only one has heard of this ultimatum, Jake, and Jake won't let the others know because it could get them and their unborn children killed," Hunter reveals, taking the drivers seat.

 "So why aren't we going with Jake?," Nikolia asks.

 "Because, they would just kill Astrid then, and that is the last thing Jake wants. We are supposed to make sure Emma and Hannah don't learn of it, and that they don't know Jake is not in the truck. So we need to stay ahead of them and make sure they follow us. If you want to help Jake, head to 7935 Dragon Lane and watch over Shipwreck beach," Hunter informs Nikolia.

 With that, Hunter takes off, the squad heading down an alley, and a 1967 fast back mustang and a 2007 modified Chevy following the truck.
