Chapter 59

Hiccup Pov:

 I was watching the road as Astrid went up to the zoned off area. But as soon as she was seen within 33 yards, they arrested her on sight. They then placed a barrel of something in the building and drove off. I was about to call but the building Exploded, along with a half block radius around it. The only thing remaining a metal box where Fishlegs is.

 Then I hear another explosion and look, to see a Helicopter attacking VC. I run and get down to the bottom of the building where a man who was walking by grabs me arm. "If you want to see your fiancee alive, you will head to Shipwreck beach, alone, and go with them to lead them to the treasure on Eyja Nott, otherwise they will be sent to Freezing to Death, don't bother calling as all signals are blocked," The person says before disappearing.

 Someone heard about that?! I immediately start going to the beach. I run for about 30 minutes before checking my phone and notice I recently got a notification. But they said all signals were down. I try and see if I can call, and I can.

 "Jake, someone has Astrid and...," I proceed to tell him the whole story. He just tells me to protect my sister and his sister before needing the call. Judging from that, he is heading to the beach now.

 I look around and head towards a safehouse belonging to my father. I enter and go to the armory, there I grab a Valkyrie sniper rifle, stand, and scope, along with a bunch of bullets. From there I run towards and overlook point, 7935 Dragon Lane.

 Arriving there I go to the top and set up, covering the scope and aiming down sight at the beach. Looking through the scope I see a helicopter and a van on one side. Looking to the other I see a Jeep start driving in, Jake. "Freeze, what do you think you are doing?," Someone asks from behind, pistol to my head.

 "Watching out for my friend," I reply.

 "An who is that?," They ask again.

 "The hostages being exchanged down there," I reply.

 "Then you must be Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the 3rd," The person says, removing the gun. Hearing that, I immediatly turn around grabbing my hand gun, but don't pull it out, seeing a total of four people with guns, one setting up beside me.

 "Who are you," I ask, deciding not to engage.

 "Nikolia from VC. We were told to go with Jake who is in the exchange by my husband. Jake told us to watch over this if we wanted to help," Nikolia responded.

 "I see, then you'll let me be," I said, turning back around.

 "I won't stop you, but if you pull that trigger and hit someone, you are a criminal," Nikolia responds, sitting beside me.

 "I have a license, and plus, I am saving my betrothed from death so it should be alright," I respond, lining up on the van and watching it.

 "I guess you are right on that, but there must always be a witness for it. It can't be someone who knows them on a personal level, nor can it be someone who hates the other side, or anything similar. They will not let it be abused," Nikolia responds.

 "Correct, my father was very strict," I respond.

 "Do you know why they are doing this?," Nikolia asks.

 "Sadly, yes, but it is a secret I must keep, if I do not it will put even more in danger. If anyone heard they would go as far as holding a island hostage with a nuclear missile if we don't tell. In reality, only 4 people actually know the location of it today," I respond. I myself heard it from my sister, but I am not allowed to tell. I know the island, but not where on it.

 "I see," Nikolia responds. Watching the beach, I see Jake get out of the Jeep and walk till she is around 200 feet from the van, which is 30 in front of the copter. Jake yells something unintelligible and the van door opens, and Astrid comes out blindfolded.

 "I'll take the one holding Astrid, you choose who to shoot if you are taking action," I inform them. I watch and notice that there is a car with someone watching from the other side of the beach from where Jake entered.

 "Nikolia, can you check who is on the South side of the beach?," I ask. We are looking out over the bay and opposite the port. It is in a crevice of the island where water eroded it away and left the island separate.

 "Sure, why?," Nikolia asks.

 "Because they are most likely responsible. If that is the case, it is most likely Eugene, the same who attacked my residence over 3 years ago, also responsible for the theft at the school, corruption in the police, killing a federal officer, and much more," I inform them.

 "How do you know this?," Nikolia asks, taking up a scope.

 "We did not just sit by and hide while we were presumed dead," I respond. They walk out to Jake, 4 people behind the man and Astrid. That is when I notice there are others watching this. All I am going to do, is keep my gun aimed, I know they are not involved.

 They reach Jake and she says something again. But the 4 mean head forward and they shove Astrid back. The man proceeds to put a gun to ger head, at that I can't hold back. I pull the trigger and nail him straight in the head. The blood splatter hitting Astrid and stunning the other men. That gives Jake enough time to pull a gun out from her assets? and shoot the men dead.

 "I guess we weren't needed," Nikolia says, seeing the outcome.
