The academy was back to normal in a few days, but the backlash they faced was beyond words. The whole world crucified them. It was like they all forgot about the good things the academy has done. The various charities and even the superheroes that were graduated from the academy.
There were multiple protests against the academy. The parents of the dead kids sued the academy. Like a wolf lurking in the shadows, the federation jumped on the first chance they saw. They released an official statement inviting the Hope academy under them or more specifically 'under the protection of the most powerful heroes of this time.' It was, of course, received by an overwhelming support from the general media. The parents' approval only inflated the already burning fire.
It's been two weeks since all of this happened. The Authority was, like predicted, forced into the commotion. They released an official statement regarding the extermination of Fenrir and his gangs, and the investigation regarding the security flaw in the academy.
The headmaster was returned to the academy due to the overwhelming things that need to be tended by himself, though he hadn't spoken a word about what transpired in his meeting with the director of the federation. He is overall grumpy nowadays.
Home Bringer was once again in the spotlight for saving the lives of innocent children and exterminating the intruders. He too, suggested about the easiness of protecting the lives of the young heroes if the Academy was under the federation. Which, of course, was well received by the world. After all, who doesn't like the future greatest of all time?
All the students, including the new and the old ones, were advised to stay at home while the tide calms down. The casualty rate tops over 200+. Villains and heroes and bystanders alike. Bodies are still uncovering from unlikely sites like underground and other hard areas around the academy.
The academy itself will be reformed. New administration and faculties will be added. This also includes the addition of new administrative team among the students too for enforcing laws and supervising other activities. Guess what they named it? The Students Council. Not so much of a cliche, right?
Dhanvi was feeling a bit down. After all, her only son didn't even acknowledge her, even though they were at arm's length. But she assured her it might be because of the exhaustion from the battle. She was relieved to see he was okay and didn't lose any limbs or the likes and she, just like her student, was feeling a tinge of jealousy. Her jealousy was against John. For his relation with her son. Something she hopes she can achieve in the near future. With her being the professor, only increased the chance of that. Overall, she was hopeful. The other things, like the dead kids or the predicament now faced by the academy, didn't faze her. She was content as of now.
As for the members of the Defenders, they were on a hard training mission. After what they witnessed during the ceremonial day, they got the conclusion that they were not...enough. Especially for Arthur and Aurelia, who were elites and thought they were on top of their age, was quickly diminished after witnessing the massive control of mana and the showcase of power and mastery by Leviathan. They worked harder than anyone else in order to close the gaps between them and Leviathan.
And as for our trashy hero, he was... well; he was just chilling in his home. With the absence of the shitty system, there were only peaceful days. There was no one to pester him. There was no one to nag him and there was no one to piss him off.
He just relaxes and watches a movie or reads a book, drinking his favourite coffee and other things. He did train regularly, though. For the past two weeks, after his return to this time, he enjoyed himself fully, without any distraction or nagging.
Arthur did try to contact him through his phone, but he ignored it, of course. He didn't want to associate with them. He was also a bit sceptical about the whole federation and the academy thing. He didn't notice it last time since he was basically bedridden for the entire month after the event. After he woke up, the academy was under the supervision of the federation. He wasn't that smart at that time or, more likely; he didn't care about these kind of things. But now, after witnessing all the things first hand, he was beginning to have doubts about the whole issues.
In the past, Fenrir launched an attack on another place and publicly announced it was not him that instigated the attack at the Hope academy. But it was scoffed off, as he had already done too much damage to even deny his statement. That event will happen one year after this. Home Bringer will be the one to bring Fenrir down, cementing himself as the most powerful of that time.
He looked at his crimson-black blade.
[Moon Blade]
[Grade B]
[Special Power: Increases the power double fold when bathed in moon light]
[The moon blade was said to be forged by the blacksmith god of the celestial world. It is the same blade the god of War used to slay Fenrir in the event of Ragnarök. Due to its intense power, the God of War released it to the man world to cause… chaos.]
'Used to slay the Fenrir...' Crazy ideas were being created inside his mind. Unknowingly, his lips curved upwards like a crazy person's creepy smile.
What he failed to comprehend was that he just appraised his blade. That can only be done by the shitty system, in his case. He was too absorbed in his crazy thoughts of fame that he ignored a fact like that.
[Truly marvelous, isn't it?]
"Yes! Indeed, truly marvelous!!"
[The fame and the system rewards from killing a boss monster, on top of that, the special reward if you slay the wolf with the wolf slaying blade... Indeed, truly marvelous.]
"Yes!! The special rewar-- WHAT THE FUCK?!!!"
Thus, once again, starts the shitty adventures of our trashy hero and his shitty system.
