It's been a week since the return of the shitty system and it's been a week since Desmond has lost his sanity.

[So, how was life without me, my dear?]
"...How many fucking times do I've to answer that question, shit head. My answer won't change even if you ask again. 'It was the best days of my life.' There, you happy?" He was fed up with the constant bickering from the shitty system. It was like his whole two weeks had just evaporated in a matter of seconds after the shitty system returned.

[...Your rewards will be locked.]
"You bitch, give me back my rewards."
*Knock* *Knock*
They heard a soft knock on the door.
"Come in."
The door of the guild master's room opened, and a man in black entered the room. Of course, it was John.
"Do you need something, sir?" John was summoned by his young sir for reasons he didn't know. He was busy with dealing the guild's internal strife. Now that the guild master was gone, the hidden hyenas has emerged from their slumber to eat what was left. The next guild leader by law should be his young sir, unless the entire guild was bought by a third party. Which was more likely to happen right now as the guild is slowly getting torn apart. Some of the top heroes have resigned from their jobs in order to pursue higher ranked guilds.
The 'Hellbeards' is the guild Rock Hopper aka Graham Shepherd, created 25 years ago. It recently got promoted to B rank after years of waiting. Though hero Rock Hopper is a big shot name in the hero verse, his guild cannot be said the same.
All the top ranked guilds are already in existence for centuries and for a new guild to rise to that level is nearly impossible, but achieving rank B in 25 years is not a thing to scoff off. At the same time, it is not that impressive too.
Since the guild was low level, aspiring heroes are leaving the guild to apply for a better one.
The more business minded executives who know the value and potential of a Rank B guild in the long run are trying to seize the throne.
Thus the once home to more than 300 personals has dwindled to a mere 100. The existing members are either extremely loyal ones or extremely greedy ones.
"Here." Desmond handed John two papers.
"What is it, sir?" John looked at the pieces of parchment.
"Give one of that paper to our technology fields' head and..." Desmond took a sip from his coffee. "Fire all the people who's name is written on the other one."
[Whoa, you look like a mini boss from the old mafia films.]
'...'
"...Pardon?"
Desmond looked at John in annoyance. "Didn't hear what I said?"
"No--Yes, sir, I've heard what you said but I'm afraid I might don't...quiet understood what you intend, sir."
"Its simple, just like I said. Fire the people on that paper and give the other to the head of the technology department."
[Is this the moment you regressors use your previous times experience?]
'Yep.'
"...But sir, you can't just fire people just like that. We're already on our last leg. So many of our previous members have already left. We can't afford to fire the remaining ones." He looked at the paper. His expression varying from confusion to pure bewilderment. "Th-this is...how do you even know them?"
"Does it matter? What matters is the survival of my father's legacy. My legacy. And I won't just idly sit around and see it sink. If you want the same, then fire them. They are the poison that corroding this guild. I'll send you the evidence needed for the firing." Desmond finished his sentence while taping on his phone.
*Ding*
John looked at his tab after hearing the notification sound.
"Thi-this is?" He was bewildered again. The young sir was amusing him more and more.
"Call recordings, dealings footage, documents and other minor things for the people asking for a reason." He stood from his couch with coffee in his hand. The thin trail of smoke from the warmth of the coffee swept over him. He stood beside the window and watched the night time.
"What should I do after firing them, sir?" John had made up his mind. He knew his young sir was not playing around after taking a look at the evidence, there was over 100 documents to look at. This was enough to fire those people. Their deeds were also illegal, which means they can't refuse the termination without being caught by the Authority. Whatever the young sir had in his mind, it would be for the glory of the clan.
"Fire them and call for an emergency meeting with the... remaining department heads and executives."
"Some of the executive might leave. We can't blame them. The guild doesn't have that many people in it. Not to mention the cash flow is completely broken now. Our stocks have plummeted to an all-time low since our start." It will take a miracle to rise from this situation without changing the rulers. John knew about this fact, but he was willing to take the risk. The old arrogant boy was now a matured and calm person, which in itself is a miracle. He was ready to hang on that thread of hope until the end.
Desmond took a deep breath. He had lost the guild last time. Shortly after his father's death, he was overthrown from the next guild master position. He was too arrogant at that time that he didn't even care about this. John was the only one that stood by him even after that. This time, he wasn't going to let that happen. He was going to build the guild to a new height.
It was not because of some petty reasons like father's legacy or something; it was because of the usefulness of something like this. The cash flow was one thing. The man power was another thing. He could control pretty much anything with a Rank S guild. He was going to build this guild as his base. A fortress. A fortress that will protect him from any shitty storms.
He slowly turned towards John. Leaned backwards to the frame of the windows and looked straight into John's eyes.
"I'll make them an offer they can't refuse."
