Chapter 19 - Hexes and Intention

The Basics of Hex is a book that covers the dark and aggressive side of magic. It contains information on hexes and jinxes that can cause harm or discomfort to others, including spells to induce pain, cause confusion, or even transform someone's appearance.

Hex spells are offensive spells that are cast with the intention of causing harm or bad luck to someone. They are considered to be more powerful than jinxes but less powerful than curses. While some hexes may cause physical harm, others can be used to manipulate or influence someone's emotions or behavior.

The book also provides information on how to defend oneself against hexes and how to recognize and counteract them. It is considered to be one of the more advanced subjects of magical education and is not taught until later years at Hogwarts.

As Felix kept reading the Basics of Hex, he felt a sudden surge of knowledge enter his mind. He heard a voice inside his head, telling him about the nature of hexes and how they differ from other types of spells.

"Hexes are spells designed to cause harm or discomfort to the target," the voice said. "Unlike curses, they are not usually intended to cause permanent damage, but they can still be dangerous if used recklessly. To perform a hex, you must focus your intention and channel your magical energy through your wand, directing it toward your target. The effectiveness of a hex depends on several factors, including your skill as a spellcaster, the strength of your opponent's magical defenses, and the nature of the hex itself."

"In the case of curses, jinxes and hexes, "intention" comes into the plan."

"The intent should be clear and without doubt. When deciding to harm someone, one needs motive without a doubt and hesitation for a hex, curse or a jinx to work with full effect."

Felix was surprised by the sudden influx of knowledge, but he felt excited at the prospect of learning more about hexes and other forms of magic. He continued to read the book, eager to expand his knowledge and abilities.

Felix then comments in his mind.

"Compared to other spell-types, hexes need direct force, which means that the wizard has to be sure before casting the spell itself."

Felix kept reading the book and learned about some theories as well as some simple hexing.

After reading the theory, Felix started to practice some basic hexing from the book. He learned the "jelly-legs" jinx, which causes the target's legs to become wobbly and unstable; the "stinging hex," which creates a sharp, stinging sensation on the target's skin; and the "tickling charm," which causes uncontrollable laughter in the target.

Felix smiled and nodded.

"These spells need a living target for me to practice. But I am sure that with my power, these are just child's play."

Felix could not help but think about the situation through others eyes.

It should not be that easy, but because of the existence of the Hermetic System, Many things that should be harder should be easier for him.

Felix took a deep breath and closed the book.

"I still need to be careful not to get arrogant. When it comes to real wizards, I have nothing in my hands."

"I need to practice in silence and improve myself."
