Chapter 1Eternal Cultivation

A young man walked out of a train in Oakleaf City. 'Woah!' he looked at the surrounding train station and was surprised at how glossy and expensive looking it was. His black hair, fair skin, and childlike face made him look so very naive and simple-minded.

He followed some signs to get out of the train station and finally saw Oakleaf City in its full glory. He stopped in his tracks amazed at how big the buildings were, how many vehicles there were on the road, and just how well-dressed everyone looked.

"So, which way is the Oakleaf University?" he wondered as he took out his cheap-looking phone and started looking up the map.

After learning the directions, he started walking. He had a suitcase with him that he dragged along the city. Throughout the city he would see giant billboards and posters promoting a single thing, making him wonder just what was Eternal Cultivation?

"Hmm… is that a new movie? Looks good. Maybe I will get to see what a big city's cinema looks like." His countryside village also had cinemas, but the screen was small, so he usually preferred watching the movies on his family computer.

He finally reached the university and asked a few people to find his way to dormitory A. He walked up to a register table and got his key to his room.

His room was numbered 205, so he walked into an elevator and got up. As he came out of the elevator, he got a phone call. He looked at the caller and realized his mom was calling him. He accepted the call.

"Alex? Where are you? Did you reach the university?" a worried voice came from the other side of the phone.

"Yes, mother. I am currently in the dormitory, look for my new room." Alex replied.

"Oh good, good. Here, your father wants to talk to you."

"Hey son, how are you doing? Was the train ride okay? You didn't find it discomforting, right?" His father asked him in a worried voice.

"No, Father. It was fine. In fact, it was amazing. I never knew trains went that fast." Alex said.

"Haha," his father laughed from the other side of the phone, "That's what you get when you live your entire life on a farm. We shouldn't have home-schooled you. Fortunately, you will be getting new experiences now."

"It's okay Father. The school was in the town. It would've been hard for you to take me there regularly on a 2-hour ride." Alex said.

"Alright. Remember what I told you okay? Don't be friends with bad people. There are a lot of different people in the big cities. Learn to figure out which people are good and which are not. You should be old enough to know what to do and what not to do. Oh yeah, and just because you are 18 and you can, don't go to those stupid clubs, I hear they are just a waste of money."

Alex smiled a little and replied, "I understand, Father. My dorm room is coming up, so I will call you later."

"Alright, I will end the call then. Oh, right! Call Hannah and let her know you have arrived." "Bye," his father and mother said at the same time and ended the call.

Alex walked up to Room 205 and opened the door using his key. When he opened the room, he was surprised.

He didn't expect his room to already have people staying in it. Inside were 3 young men. 2 of them were up and talking, while one was seemingly sleeping. The room has 2 bunk beds and 4 closets. Aside from that, Alex couldn't see anything there.

"Hello, are you guys staying in this room as well?" he asked as he walked in.

"Yes, Are you our new roommate?" one of the people asked.

"Ah, yes," Alex said as he showed the key numbered 205. "Hello, my name is Alex Benton." He said as he walked in.

"Oh, Hi. My name is Eric and this is Matt" Eric said introducing himself and the other person.

"Hi," Matt greeted as well.

"You just arrived right? So, I assume you haven't eaten anything yet. It's nearly 3 pm. Why don't you freshen up and we can go get some afternoon lunch in the cafeteria."

Alex nodded and changed into a normal shirt and pants. He went to the bathroom attached to the room and cleaned himself. By the time he got out, the third man was already up.

"I'm sure you can do it next time. Just buy a pill if you can't."

"I know, but those cost money. And I'm not really playing to make money."

"Then you just gotta hope you breakthrough next time."

The man finally saw Alex. "Hey, you the new guy? Hi, I am Logan. What's up?"

"Hello, my name is Alex," he replied too. Afterward, all of them walked to the cafeteria to get some food. The 3 started talking about the same thing they were talking about in the room and it made Alex confused. He didn't know the context.

"What are you guys talking about exactly?" he asked.

"Eternal Cultivation," Matt replied.

"Oh, the new movie? I saw posters of it on the streets." Alex said with a face of understanding.

Matt, Eric, and Logan looked at him with a look of confusion. Logan then said, "It's not a movie. It's the best VR game in existence. Don't you know about it?" he asked.

"A VR game? I didn't know about that. I only heard about the game today." Alex said.

"It's already been out for a month and is the most played game of all time. How come you've never heard of it?" Matt was surprised.

"Oh, that's cause they don't have any billboards and posters near the farm. And I don't really get to be on the internet since I have to help my father with the work." Alex said.

"Well, you can play now. You really must experience it." Eric said.

"Oh, but I don't have a VR helmet or money to buy one," Alex said.

"Don't worry about that, Eric here had got an old one, you can use that," Matt said.

"Okay, then."

Alex and the 3 walked back to the room and Eric handed him his old helmet that he was keeping in the closet. Now that he looked at it, 3 of the 4 beds all had VR helmets in them.

"They must've been playing before I came," Alex mumbled a little.

"Just plug it in the socket there and you can start playing. Be sure to log out before 7 or you will miss dinner." Saying that Matt and the rest got into their beds and put on their helmets. After that, they went to asleep.

'They are playing now, huh?' Alex thought. He went to the only available bed, the lower bed of the right bunk bed, and put on his helmet. He plugged a wire into the socket and lay down on his bed.

Soon a light started shining from inside the helmet and he finally heard something.

Brought to you by the same author of "Rise of the Undead Legion" Biako. -If you are reading this anywhere that's not Webnovel.com then please stop doing so. those are websites that have stolen this work and using you the reader to earn money from ads. Please do not encourage theft. You can read this almost freely on webnovel by doing simple stuff like watching ads or reviewing the story. Please don't participate in stolen work. Disclaimer: Be patient with this one there are a few... 1st -This is a story where there will be some hot scenes (later down the line) 2nd- As for the start of the story, it is an Academy setting, but it's not the main premise, it's a full world to explore, with continents and dungeon crawling and battles A LOT of battles,. But this academy is the starting point. So please don't judge it poorly 3d- There will be no filler chapters! Not a single one there will be nothing but pure plot, any flashback in the story will have purpose and have incredibly important information regarding future events. 4th The story is slow, but once it picks up, you'll need to buckle up. 5th, There will be no info dumping or overly lengthy fight scenes. Fight length will depend on the opponents the MC is fighting, I'm not gonna write 10 chapters where the mc is fighting some third rate character or 5 chapters explaining a single spell that's not me. 6th last but not least, I'm not the type to make the MC overpowered or give him random abilities just for the sake of winning a fight, fights are meant to be exciting, thrilling and most of all, feel hard-earned when winning. Our MC will not have any easy gifts that aren't earned. Ludwig Heart, the heir to a vast fortune and a life of luxury, craves only one thing: freedom from his gilded cage. But when a plane crash catapults him into a world of magic and danger, he awakens not as the hero he dreamed of, but as a victim in a twisted ritual. Trapped between the ambitions of dark necromancers and the wrath of vengeful gods, Ludwig must navigate a deadly new reality where his life is no longer his own. Stripped of privilege and resurrected as an undead pawn, Ludwig’s fight for survival will determine whether he reclaims his destiny—or becomes a mere footnote in a world of shadows and deceit.

so i will first go through the two high scores but first I want to say something THE AUTHOR IS A FREAKING LIER AND A BIG TIME LIER AT THAT! going back to the two high scores, he has stable updates, and even though the world background isn't original and highly limited it's not bad, though if I could I would have given it a 3.5, not a 4. now for the writing quality, not saying that I'm a genius in writing or a stickler for grammar, I'm not. and I normally don't complain about non-proper grammatical sentences and I won't here, the problem is that the writing style is very awkward although it's still readable, the style seems like we are reading a list of things that the mc is doing rather than experiencing the moment with the mc. it was highly prominent a the start and lessened slightly later on and if the 2 things I'm gonna talk about weren't so bad the awkward writing style wouldn't have been a total dealbreaker. story development, eh, actually I'm kinda torn. i like how the other characters aren't your stereotypical "you dare! you seem to have eyes but not have seen mount tai" but the main problem is with the MC, he I supposed to focus on cultivation so he specifically joins a sect that specializes in pill making yet the story bends backward to keep the mc as naive as possible, they literally teach him NOTHING LITERALLY NOTHING and that's the ACTUAL theme of the novel, total idiotic (yes e instead of an I was done on purpose) nativity. he also gets everything without any effort. character design, I would have actually given the character design a 2 or 3 if the mc was normal stupid, but this MC would not be accepted In the "special" class at school, they need the special version of the special version of the special class to nearly keep up with the mc's ritardedness. forget 3 brain cells or no brain cells, I'm pretty sure this dude has a high negative IQ probably the most idiotic mc i have ever read in my entire life and i read the trial read novels with every cycle for the first free chapters... the author tries to play it as if the mc is naive because he was working on a farm, but his idiocy reaches levels that this excuse can't justify, simple things like 5 min of research is something that he actively doesn't do, he actively digs himself holes and then he realises that he dug himself a hole so what does he do? he digs it even deeper, if you reach ch 48 you would know what i mean. fine, the dude hasn't ever read or watched any fantasy/ cultivation anything but do a slight bit of research, my dude, if that's something you got interested in the first instinct is to read up on it or watch things on the thing you are interested on to gain as much info as you can. going back to the author being a lier, in his comment he says that the mc is mostly ignorant for the most part for the first 10 chapters, but that's a lie, if anything as times go on it gets worst and worst as you can no longer excuse his ignorance.

I KNOW THAT MANY ARE THINKING THAT THIS NOVEL IS VERY SLOWPACED AND EVEN I THINK THAT(BUT FROM THE LATEST CHAPTERS I AM DOUBTING THAT IT ISN'T SO CAUSE IN JUST TWO MONTHS AFTER RELEASING THE GAME PEOPLE HAVE REACHED LIKE TRUE EMPEROR REALM AND THERE MIGHT BE SOME PEOPLE ABOVE THAT, THAT HAVE YET TO SHOW UP). SECONDLY, ARE TALENTED PEOPLE THAT COMMON OR ARE TALENTS THAT EASY TO ACQUIRE ? I MEAN HEAVEN GRADE BODIES, IMMORTAL GRADE BODIES, GOD GRADE TALENTS ETC. THE NOVEL HAS DEPICTED MANY PEOPLE WITH SUCH TALENTS AND SOME HAVE EVEN DIED (ISN'T IT A BIT TOO FAST) THIRD, IS CULTIVATION THAT EASY? THERE ARE MANY CULTIVATION NOVEL OUT THERE AND ALL OF THEM TELL ONE THING FOR CERTAIN THAT CULTIVATION IS A VERY LONG AND ARDUOUS JOURNEY, IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO BREAK THROUGH THE HIGHER YOU GET, THE NOVEL ALSO SHOWS THAT BY INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF QI REQUIRED; BUT PLAYERS HAVE REACHED CLOSE TO THE SAINT REALM IN TWO MONTHS OF CULTIVATION. FOURTH, THERE ARE NO QUESTS. FIFTH, SOME THINGS JUST GIVES THE FEELING OF IT BEING SHORT OR INCOMPLETE (CULTIVATION SYSTEM/ ALCHEMY SYSTEM) SIXTH, THE PART WITH SPIRIT CLEANSING LILY(IS SPIRIT CLEANSING LILY THE ONLY RARE INGREDIENT ? AND IF ITS RARE LATER THAT CONCEPT ALSO KIND OF FADED AWAY AFTER SEEING THE MC GET SO MANY OF THEM) AND IF YOU PICK THE WRONG ONE THEN ALL WILL START WILTING BUT THERE MIGHT ATLEAST BE SOME ALCHEMIST WHO MIGHT/SHOULD HAVE RESEARCHED IT, ARE THE ALCHEMISTS THAT WEAK? AND MC WAS ABLE TO GET THEM ALL ONLY BECAUSE OF THE ALCHEMY GOD'S INHERITANCE(WHICH IS SHOWN AS A TECHNIQUE IN THIS NOVEL) . SEVENTH, IF THE GAME WORLD IS A REAL WORLD AND THE POWERS THERE COULD BE BOUGHT INTO REALITY, THEN THE AUTHOR SHOULD HAVE SHOWN THE SIGNS BY NOW;I MEAN THE MC DID GO THROUGH MORTAL CLEANSING . SUMMARY- THERE ARE TOO MANY BLANK SPOTS(LOOP HOLES)OUT THERE WHICH LEADS TO THE FEELING OF INCOMPLETENESS. THE NOVEL COULD HAVE BEEN MADE MUCH BETTER .
