Douluo Dalu 3: Fire and Steel[Dropped]

Xiu Ye, a young man who lived an ordinary life, unfortunately died at the hands of truck-kun and gets reincarnated into the Douluo Planet, more specifically, the Glorybound City's Orphanage. He lived a carefree and lazy second life, well, that is until he awakened his martial soul that everything went 180. A deserted lifeless land that had countless weapons from old legendary heroes and villains embedded into its earth. A blade whose flames equals the sun's. A talent in blacksmithing that no one can equal to. This is Xiu Ye's story of fire and steel. ==================================================== *I do not own anything except for this story. *Vote your power stones, comment, review and share this story with your friends! Chapter 110: The calm before the storm

"Is everything going as planned, teacher Wu?" Xiu Ye asked his ice cold teacher as they walked into the hallway of a ordinary two-story building, once abandoned by the original owners due to the sudden undead and evil soul masters situation, now used as one of many temporary base of operations for Tang Sect Battle Hall agents as well as a temporary refugee for any survivors they found, before being relocated at the main shelter at Tang Sect.

Wu Zhangkong nodded, his black cloak flowing behind him with every step he takes, "Hm. With the entire south area of the city now "cleansed" of any evil soul masters and undead, the military and other agents are now on the process of cleansing the other areas of the city."

"At the rate we're doing, we can retake the entire city within two or three days at the least, if there was any complications, it would at most take about a week."

Xiu Ye nodded, "Good. Any reports about sightings of a ghoul general? Or that ghoul with a Soul Sage cultivation, the Great Dragon Ghoul Sage?

Wu Zhangkong shook his head, "None at the moment. Ever since the last ghoul general that you personally killed, there has been no further sightings of them. As for that Great Dragon Ghoul Sage, the last our scouts or other resources have seen of him were in the Black Orchid Hotel; where most of the force of evil soul masters are hiding."

"I see..." Xiu Ye muttered, "So it's been verified?"

"Yes." Wu Zhangkong nodded, "The Black Orchid Hotel has been confirmed to be HQ of the evil soul masters, as more and more sightings of them being around that hotel have been reported. Also, it was further verified when a Battle Hall agent, a agility system Soul King with a shadow type martial soul that lets him hide in the shadows, similar to Xie Xie, infiltrated the building and investigated it."

"He found and heard a lot of things, all of which we also found out via a recording device he was carrying that can be sent back to us even if.... he died." He trailed off for a moment before letting out a sigh.

Xiu Ye stared at empty air for a moment before letting out a sigh, "...Did he die quickly?"

Wu Zhangkong snapped a shocked glance at his student for a moment. Despite knowing and seeing all of the things he could do, he was still stunned to hear Xiu Ye, a ten year old boy, talking so calmly about a man's death.

He was quite for a moment, "He died by suicide bombing. He was found out by a spiritual type Soul Sage and was then surrounded by a group of evil soul masters."

"Either he didn't want to become a ghoul or give up any information about our operations, probably both, he activated the bomb implanted in his teeth; which has the explosive power to explode a small room, and..."

"I see..." Xiu Ye muttered with a wry smile on his face.

Second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour... another one dies.

'It hasn't been twenty four hours yet, it feels like its been months with how much death I hear and see...' He draw out a short breath of air.

He didn't know why, but this situation, this, zombie situation, felt extremely familiar to him. People dying, the dead rising, humans killing each other. It felt disgustingly nostalgic... Like he experienced it many, many times before.

'Are the memories in my previous life, before I was Xiu Ye on earth, surfacing now?' Xiu Ye thought as he clenched his fists.

During the time he spent in the Battle Hall space-time room, Tianguo had told Xiu Ye about the situation of his soul and the probability of a few previous lives he had.

The information shocked him.

Although he expected Tianguo, a powerful soul beast whose strength equaled a demigod if she were to have a physical body, to find out about his previous life. He didn't expect for her to dig deeper and find out that he had previous lives, that even he and Ryūjin Jakka didn't know about!

It had explained why even though he has sufficient spiritual power to bring out a Spiritual Domain, it had came out incomplete. Much less about bringing out his inner world, his true martial soul, into the physical world, as his soul was damaged.

There was a common logic in this world. If a martial soul were to be broken or destroyed, it would damaged the soul master's soul a bit; leading him/her into a few days of coma, incapable of cultivating for a week, and a decreased of their lifespan by three to five years.

But for a soul master's soul to be as broken as Xiu Ye's? To quote what Tianguo had said to him, "it's a miracle that you're still alive, much less have access to your martial soul". From what she said, he really shouldn't have a martial soul and he was thankful that he had Ryūjin Jakka as a substitute.

His broken soul though, one tired of having gone through many reincarnations. It certainly does explains as to why he had his inner world filled with legendary weapons and the knowledge of using some magecraft.

To which he spent most of his time, during the years in the space-time Battle Hall room, with the help of Tianguo, carefully healing his broken soul.

The process was both simple and difficult. All he had to do.... was meditate and absorb the soul power in the air.

It was simple when said, but it was difficult when you absorb the soul power and channel it directly into his inner soul and bathed it in its energy, and he had to do as delicately as handling an ant between your thumb and forefinger.

If he even slightly, and he meant just 0.01%, overflowed more soul power than his soul can handle... it'll crush under the pressure of the energy and explode. It was also hard because his soul can only handle about

Xiu Ye was confident over his control on his soul power and other energies in his body, but even he had to admit that it was excruciatingly difficult, to the point that he almost gave up and just let nature take its course and have time heal his soul.

But he couldn't do that, not when an entire city was at stake.

After four years, though it was really a year of healing his soul since other things to do, within the hyperbolic time–uh, space-time Battle Hall room, he had managed to restore his soul to about seventy to eighty percent. It was a massive improvement compared to what it originally was, looking like a purple crystal in a flying of Among Us.

If he fully focused on healing and nourishing his soul, it would be fully recovered in three months at least.

When that happens... would he remember who he was in his previous life?

Xiu Ye wondered, who was he in his previous life before earth? He had a world, one that reeks of regret and pain, but was filled with an unlimited amount of legendary weapons.

'If I were to go by wuxia-cultivation logic, I'd say that I was, at some point, a god of some sort. Probably the god of steel? Crafts? Blacksmithing? War?' He would have continued on with his thoughts, but Wu Zhangkong voice sounded out.

"Xiu Ye, branchmaster sent out a group of agents, along with the forces of the Skysea Federation's military, towards Spirit Pagoda to not only aid them but to recruit them as well; in a joint attack, together with the Federation, on Black Orchid Hotel and finally finished off this whole mess." Wu Zhangkong stopped in his tracks and stared directly at Xiu Ye with a silent question in his eyes, asking,

'Do you want to go as well?'

Xiu Ye was quite. A total calm and blank expression on his face, totally different to the conflicted feelings he had within.

He was distrustful of Spirit Pagoda, only because of his family situation with them and the meta knowledge he had remembered that they worked together with the Holy Spirit Cult in the near future. Who knows, they might even had a hand on what was going on with the zombie situation in Skysea City.

As much as he wanted to tell his teacher about his doubts on Spirit Pagoda, he didn't have any evidence currently, so he'll hold his tongue...for now.

"No. I think Tang Sect and the military would be enough to handle the situation at Spirit Pagoda. As for my friends, they decide if they want to go along with them or not. Gu Yue probably might, she is with them after all." Xiu Ye said, shaking his head. "If that's all, then I'll be going to scout Black Orchid Hotel."

Wu Zhangkong stared at his student for a moment and nodded slowly, "Be careful."

A smile appeared on Xiu Ye's face. He two-fingered saluted his teacher before he went to a nearby window, opened it, and disappeared in a flash.

What Xiu Ye didn't know, the moment he flashed away from Wu Zhangkong, urgent news from the IG(information gathering) force was soon reported in through every earpiece belonging to active Tang Sect personal, which included Xiu Ye and his friends.

Spirit Pagoda, had fallen.
