Chapter 111: A Chance!

The sun was sinking in the horizon, the final rays of light from the sun casted a shadow down on the zombie infected street.

Thousands of them filled it. Most standing eerily still, having not detected any living human around them to eat, while some was slowly roaming around in and out of buildings; having also filled with hundreds of zombies.

In the center of all that infected swarm, a fifty story building stood mightily tall. With its completely clean white painted bricks, metal railings and blue colored glass windows; the building being lighted up by numerous different colored spotlights on the ground around the building made it extremely grand looking. Though the most peculiar part about this building, was that unlike the other buildings that the undead freely roamed about, this building is completely bare of any undead in a wide 50 meter area radius.

This building, is called the Black Orchid Hotel. Once as the most well known five-star hotel, and one of the greatest pride, of Skysea City. Now however, it acts as a den for evil soul masters and powerful ghouls.

A mile away from the Black Orchid Hotel, ln top of a blue painted, three-story apartment building, a pair of black clothed individuals layed prone on the ground with similar colored binoculars in their hands and using it to spy on the horde of undead and the hotel building.

"There's a whole lot of them." Xie Xie commented as he zoomed on the mass of zombies on the street. "There's no blindspots for us to get through by ground, jumping on top of buildings to get through is a no-go as well; we'll be seen/sensed when we jump on the ground around the hotel and there aren't any nearby buildings around it that isn't being occupied by either undead or evil soul masters."

"Though I can only see about, like, a hundred of heat signatures in and around the hotel, I'm still not sure about the undead."

"Territorially speaking, this hotel is impossible to infiltrate if they ain't a god-tier infiltrator like me."

Xiu Ye snorted, lowering his binoculars down, he turned to his friend with a look of contempt, "You? God-tier? Bitch, you can't even steal a pair of panties properly, and you dare say your god? Get over yourself."

"Wha–! I got distracted! You know that!" Xie Xie sputtered, lowered his binoculars, and turned to face Xiu Ye, who rolled his eyes, with a face as red as the latter's hair. "Also, that was your idea of training! How come I got beaten severely by miss Shin Yi and the other girls, while you got away scot free!"

"Well that's because I slipped the blame to Tang Wulin and cooked them their respective favorite food." Xiu Ye simply responded.

Xie Xie stared at him with an incredulous look on his face, and thought, 'How sly!' He felt conflicted. On one hand, he wanted to punch the bastard for being such a smart sunvabitch but on the other hand... he also respected him for it.

"...You're a frickin genius, you know that right?" Xie Xie said with a sigh.

"I'm just built different." Xiu Ye smirked as Xie Xie clicked his tongue. After a few seconds his expression turned serious. "We also can't just teleport in; since Na Nali saw me using the Yamato to teleport away, then I'll bet that she prepared some kind of spacial alarms or any kind of spacial defense in the entire building that the moment I or anyone teleports in the hotel would die."

"There really is no other way around huh? Like what teacher Wu and the others had said, we really do need an army to breach through the Black Orchid Hotel."

"Hm." Xiu Ye nodded as he used his binoculars for a little while before setting it down again, having found nothing new. "Although I'd like to say that the Federation's military army and Tang Sect's agents would be enough to lay siege on this entire swarm and den of evil soul masters.... but it's better to be cautious and prepared than anything."

"Problem is, however, that Spirit Pagoda had fallen." Both Xiu Ye and Xie Xie grimace, remembering the report that had been sounded in their earpieces.

They both knew how strong a organization Spirit Pagoda was. In the entire world currently, they were the only organization capable of selling spirit souls to soul masters so they could have soul rings. Even between Tang Sect and the Federation, they stood at a higher position to them and had a higher quality and quantity of soul masters under their command than the other organizations.

So it had came at a total surprise that Spirit Pagoda had fallen first and in just a few hours since the outbreak.

Although the others mourned for the people in Spirit Pagoda who died and got turned into zombies, Xiu Ye himself had a different thought. He was even more shocked than others because he knew that Spirit Pagoda and the Holy Spirit Cult was secretly collaborating with each other!

What does this mean then? Is the Holy Spirit Cult betraying Spirit Pagoda? Or is it the opposite? Well, that's to be expected since they just started several different undead situations in different cities.

Or is this all an act, a diversion, to keep everyone out of the real picture?

Nonetheless, Xiu Ye had hoped to used this opportunity to infiltrate their base.

For Spirit Pagoda to fall, there was no way that powerhouses of the evil soul masters and ghouls weren't involved in their destruction. And from what he had last heard about what was going on in the area around the fallen Spirit Pagoda, the undead was still there; even though they normally scatter by now to find humans.

They acted like the zombies around the Black Orchid Hotel.

'And if the evil soul masters are still there, and they wouldn't just risk their partnership with Spirit Pagoda, unless they wanted something in that organization.' Xiu Ye thought, his eyes narrowed. 'Or, they wanted to protect something... like the core of the curse formation.'

Him, Xie Xie and other more Tang Sect agents had captured and interrogated a lot of evil soul masters when they come into contact with them; all trying to find out their grand plan and where would they find the curse formation core.

Sadly, however, every evil soul master they interrogated had all died by either suicide or self-destruction.

They were either loyal to their organization, to the point of killing themselves than giving any information, or the organization had implanted a contingency plan when one of their members tried spilling any sort of information related to them.

"Only ten minutes left until night comes, Ye." Xie Xie said.

"Yeah, yeah, that's when they leave, I know. But that would be impossible with the barrier and the only places that lets–" Xiu Ye's eyes widened, realization dawned on his face.

Why would the Holy Spirit Cult dare destroy a branch of Spirit Pagoda and why they remained at the ruined building of Spirit Pagoda...it all makes sense now!

The barrier surrounding the entire Skysea City makes it so no one can get in and out, no matter if they dig underground, no one can get pass the barrier with the exception of a Hyper or Limit Douluo. That's how strong the barrier was.

However, there were exceptional tunnels that can passed through the barrier.

And they were in the Federation, Tang Sect and.... Spirit Pagoda shelter bunkers.

'Oh. Fuck!' Xiu Ye stood up, surprising Xie Xie, and touched his earpiece to communicate with Wu Zhangkong.

"Xiu Ye? What's wrong-"

"Teacher Wu, send half of the Federation military army and Tang Sect's agents at Spirit Pagoda! The evil soul masters are using the secret tunnels in there to escape. While send the rest at the Black Orchid Hotel, this is a chance!" He stared at the tall Black Orchid Hotel, a determined expression on his face.

"We get rid of all the cultists and undead, tonight!"
