Chapter 9 : Money and food

Date: 16-04-2015

I became popular after selling games. If anyone in my school wanted a game they would come to me. So I was making a decent amount of money every month. It didn't stop there because somehow students from other schools in the city also came to know about me but they couldn't contact me directly so I needed a phone.

I had to convince my mom to buy me one. When I asked about it my mom gave me the same old excuse of not having enough money. I told her that I somehow gathered enough money to buy a basic phone for me. She didn't believe me I showed just enough money to buy a phone. She asked me how I got it I couldn't say I was making pirate games so I said I won it in a math competition. I said Rijon participated too but I won. She was gullible enough to believe me.

So I bought my first phone. Gave the contact number to everyone. I mean every student who bought my pirate games. Soon it became a pain for me because I would get an average of five calls every two hours.I couldn't receive most of them because I was at school or busy with something else so I had to call them back which made me tired. I made a lot of money but calls did bother me so I asked everyone to text me instead. Now everything was going very smoothly.

I sometimes thought what if someone complained to the authorities but luckily for me it didn't happen I guess my services were received openly.

I had earned almost half as much as my father which for me was a lot. I mean I didn't know what to do with all the money I got. I upgraded my PC. I bought a good headphone. That's all I could come up with. I was brought up in a house with strict finance so I didn't like to waste money.

One night I thought about all the money that was piling up on my book shelf. At that time it felt like a good idea to put all that money in the book shelf. So I thought about what to do with the money I could buy something to eat but my mom ruined my sense of taste with spicy foods. I mean all the food she made for us filled with spices. So I just got used to it and less spicy foods didn't feel good anymore. I also didn't like anything sweet so that limited my choices. No wonder I was skinny. As a kid in fourth grade food is all I got after a night spent thinking about what to do with money. So the next day I decided to go to an Indian restaurant to try something. I wanted to go alone but Rijon, Andy and PP tagged along. I tried some food there it was good but not as spicy as my mom's food so I asked the waiter to make it more spicy that made my friends look at me weirdly. Rijon asked me why I wanted the food to be more spicy than it already was. I mean Andy was gasping for air at that point. I was confused. I considered what I ate at home to be normal so the food in the restaurant was average to me. I didn't know my sense of taste was destroyed long ago.

After that we went to a Mexican restaurant and finally to a Japanese restaurant. I didn't like Japanese food that much because I didn't like most things raw or boiled. I mostly ate fried and spicy foods. But it was Rijon and Andy's Idea so I had to follow them. After eating at three different restaurants we were full. I didn't eat anything that night at my house. My mom thought I was feeling sick.

I found out that I liked going to different restaurants to taste different kinds of food. It was fun so from then on me, Rijon and Andy would go to different restaurants at least twice a week obviously they paid for their own food but it still felt good to do something together with a few friends. It went on till the end of the fifth grade. It somehow became a tradition and it restored my sense of taste by a lot. I guess money well spent.
