"Ah, Xiao Yang! You, why didn't you say so? Alright, enough talk from this old woman." Sister Qin was embarrassed but then she helped them all fill a registration form. There weren't many things to write on the form. Just the name, age, gender, and if they had an ability or not.
When Lilian Mo saw this, her lips quirked to the side. As expected, they still did not have a method to determine whether a person is an ability user or not so writing false information would be easy and these people would not know the truth without truly checking.
In her previous life, because she had entered the base during the fourth year into the apocalypse, there was already a method to determine whether a person was lying or not. This was not via machinery but through the help of a mental ability user.
Afterall, Zhang Youji was not the only mind reader in his time.
"Do we really have to write down whether we have an ability or not?" Lin Jiaojiao said, her grip on the paper tightened, crumpling a part of it.
Sister Qin smiled. "You kids, it doesn't matter if you write that you have an ability or not. In the base, you can't hide these things forever. Moreover, being recognized as an ability user has its own benefits."
Lin Jiaojiao gulped. She looked at Lilian Mo for an answer.
"Sister Qin is right. We can't hide our capabilities forever but this doesn't mean that I would obediently write down what they told me to write." Lilian Mo signed the form. She wrote down that she was an ability user but did not specify her ability. She even noticed that there was a blank where people needed to write their current or estimated level.
She wrote the number zero on it. A person's strength was not determined by their level because there were no doubt other variables that could determine a person's capability such as combat knowledge and skills. A person's level was simply to tell how much potential and growth a person is capable of. This was also a way of knowing how much power capacity they are holding.
An ability user's strength and senses would grow along with their ability. However, a high leveled person with zero experience in combat was as good as being useless. It was still important to learn some basics in fighting because there were cases when dealing with an intelligent opponent can be troublesome.
"Then, I'll also write what Momo wrote." Mu Qingqing said.
Mu Qianmo scratched his neck. What was he supposed to do with his two friends who were passed out?
"You can fill their form." Nathan Yang told him. "I'll go first. I'll go and check if there is a clinic that isn't crowded. After you finish getting registered, you would need to receive a health checkup from a doctor. It's mandatory so wait here until I come back."
"Ah... there are so many procedures. I'm really sleepy." Mu Qingqing yawned. She blinked her eyes tiredly.
It was already morning and she was beginning to feel hungry. On the other hand, Mu Qianmo was busy filling in three forms all by himself.
With his two friends' obnoxious personalities, he also decided to write that they were ability users. He then wrote down what their ability was. At this point, it was already too late to conceal them since those two had caused quite a ruckus with their abilities. He also wrote down his own ability since the twins already knew of it.
After they were done, Sister Qin happily received the papers. She was no longer surprised to read about Zhang Youji not having an ability since he was still a child. In her work, she has never seen a child with an ability before. There were many theories. They were too young which caused their body to reject the mutation or that they were simply lacking in maturity which prevented them from having abilities. No one knew why but since no one has ever seen a child with an ability, they began to think that children couldn't be awakened as ability users and that maybe, they needed to reach maturity in order for that to happen.
Sister Qin moved to the other papers. She narrowed her eyes upon noticing that everyone was an ability user except for the child. She was a bit amazed since this would explain why they look clean and healthy.
Their team consisted of metal, wind, wood, and even a fire ability user! She also saw that one member was a strength ability user and then...
Sister Qin raised her head. "Who is Lin Jiaojiao?"
A small dainty hand was raised in the air, followed by a soft and timid voice. "It's me..."
Sister Qin smiled at Lin Jiaojiao. "Jiao'er is a mental ability user?"
Lin Jiaojiao nodded her head nervously. She met Lilian Mo's eyes.
Lilian Mo quirked her lips to the side, telling the girl that she did well for not stating her true ability. It was better for them to misunderstand, perhaps think that the glass was some kind of projection caused by mental power. A barrier ability was rare, so rare that it would attract the wrong kind of people.
Lilian Mo remembered how this little girl suffered in her previous life. Being violated then experimented on like a guinea pig was not something this girl deserves to experience.
In this life, Lilian Mo would find the people responsible for the past life's tragedy and if they were the same vile people...
Then...
She inhaled slowly, feeling relief in her heart.
'That would be so much better.'
Because this meant that she wouldn't have to feel guilty about killing them.
