Chapter 1Hello there

white.

that's all he could see, he couldn't feel, couldn't move, only think, and observe.

he had no idea how long it has been, it could be a day, a week, a year, since there was no sun, he couldn't keep track of how many days passed.

but he remembered his life, and how he died...

(how the hell did I get hit by a truck on an empty road? and where did it come from?)

he blinked and there was an old man in front of him. confused about where he came from he asked the obvious question.

"uh, who are you?" the old man just looked at him for a few seconds and made a couch.

(really?)

"so, you know what's happening don't you?" asked the old man, with a small smile while sitting down on the couch.

"...let me guess, im being reincarnated" he answered, being a weeb helped him in the situation.

"yes, but not because I made a mistake, I was just bored" answered the old man with that same smile that just became irritating after that statement.

(asshole)

"That was rude," said the old man abruptly, surprising the soul.

"oh right, so what's you're name?" he asked looking at the sitting man.

with a shrug, he answered, "call me bob".

(really? Bob? totally original)

"anyway, I'm giving you three wishes, but here's the catch you can't choose them"

said Bob, which made the soul even more irritated.

"why? I'm being reincarnated, I should at least be able to choose one of my abilities" he argued, glaring at him.

"...fine, but the other two are going to be spun by this wheel," said bob as the wheel appeared next to him, but he wasn't done "you can't choose rennigan"

with a click of the tongue, he relented.

"fine, spin the wheel first." bob nodded and the wheel spun... for about a minute.

and it landed on the section where there was written 'Excalibur'.

"well aren't you lucky, any sword in the world that im sending you in will pale in comparison," said Bob with both eyebrows raised In surprise.

"well, how will that work? not like a baby can be born with a sword in hand, and I can't wield it until I'm at least fourteen"

he pointed out, to which Bob nodded in agreement.

"well, how about this, I'll make it possible for you to summon the sword in your hand, and it will adjust to your size as you grow" he agreed to this statement with a nod and watched as the wheel spun again.

spinning for the same amount of time as the first time and landed on the section where 'talent' was written.

"okay, that's self-explanatory, you will pick up everything you try to learn at a faster rate" Bob explained and looked at the soul to wait for his third ability.

"so, uh, ..." he contemplated for a bit, then smirked, "I want the ability to make two things switch places, even the living organisms" Bob looked at him and frowned.

(hah, I still got what I wanted, get dunked on)

"...you know I can deny that right? just because of what you just thought" Bob pointed out, with a raised eyebrow.

(damn)

"fine, well then, good luck Alex," said bob which confused the soul.

"my name is not Ale-" he couldn't finish what he was saying as everything went black.

___

opening his eyes groggily and looked around, everything was blurry, but he could hear a language he didn't understand, but there was one word he knew the meaning of, it was a name, a name of the main character.

(im in Moshukou Tensei aren't I? and Rudeus is my brother, just great)

if a baby could sigh he would, suddenly he was picked up, and as his right cleared up, he saw a man, who was most likely his father, as soon as he could see clearly, he saw him, Paul, who was making weird faces.

then Paul started telling him something.

(does he think a kid can understand what he's saying?)

but then he heard another Name he understood, Alex...

(so, he was referring to my name in this body)

he just stares at his father blankly, before the older man pouts...

(he pouts? really?)

Naruto: The Outsider's Resolve

[A Naruto Fan Fiction] Make the best of what you have, they said... But what I am supposed to do when the best I have are red-eyed freaks, a child who's supposed to be the jailor of the most dangerous being in the world, a snake bastard with serious boundary issues, and a whole world of super soldiers with licences to murder. And you know the best part? None of them like me so much... Oh shut it, old man! Take that Will of Fire and shove it up your— Yeah, this second swing at life isn't panning out... --------------------------------------------------------------- What to expect: - Gradual strength progression. Meaningful growth. The MC is a normal guy dumped into the Narutoverse, starts out weak and has to work and struggle for everything he gains. - "Slow" paced. My writing style is a zoomed-in look camera that follows the protagonist. It might seem slow, but I ensure something is always happening to progress the plot forward. - Gritty and often bloody fights and actions scenes with a focus on taijutsu—you'll see individual combat, team fights, and large-scale battle. - A different take on the Narutoverse. The world is full of superhuman mercenaries with liscenes-to-kill—that along with the protagonist's struggles paint the world in a much darker light. - Additions and expansion to the "chakra" power system. I consider myself a conservative when it comes to adapting the power system—and aim to retain the original feel while highlighting the best parts. - The Outsider's Resolve version of Narutoverse uses the [Naruto Manga] as the base—with additions from anime, books, and even Boruto (though very less likely). --------------------------------------------------------------- DISCORD SERVER: https://discord.gg/w5dJ82SfMr --------------------------------------------------------------- PATREON LINK: https://www.patreon.com/fictiononlyreader --------------------------------------------------------------- DECLARATION: This story is also present on: FFN, Ao3, SpaceBattles, SufficientVelocity, and ScribbleHub RoyalRoad [to be verified] --------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: I don't own any character other than my OCs. I have a problem with this story, and being honest, if I had to compare it to the original story this one feels empty, but not an ordinary emptiness, a very deep emptiness. In my opinion moshoku tensei was not made to be told in a quick and summarized way, if I had to put it in a few words this novel does not have the essence of the original, there is no world development, there is no character development and if there is it is practically null, and here is where I repeat myself, moshoku tensei was not told in a quick way, it was told at its own pace, a pace that allowed to give personality and life to both the characters and the world something that I don't see anywhere in this fan-fic, and to finish this novel doesn't give me the same feeling as the original, it doesn't even make me want to dive into the story because I know it won't matter, and if I had to give a reason is mainly because there is no real conflict or difficulty or an impact that truly feels emotional and meaningful. Now the only good thing I saw was the initial concept of reincarnation with excalibur, that's the only thing I found interesting and a couple of other concepts such as immortality (of old age). And being honest what I like about these stories is to see how a new character will affect, what things will change and how severe the butterfly effect would be, and here the butterfly effect is noticeable but in a very negative way, it is as if the oc has stopped the mental advancement of all the characters or more specifically the growth as a person of each character. (or I just didn't feel that the characters really changed much throughout the story).
