No that’s usually true for the “darkening fics” specifically and by darkening I mean the Mc usually having to darken the sources main character while fics with the Mc himself being darkened it’s usually quick due to it not being the main objective of the novel (like in some Naruto directly being darkened due to how he’s being treated or darkening fics where it’s just one area the Mc can use to darken Naruto)

Those fics fall into the “The main character is the hero so the actual protagonist is an arrogant prick who makes dumb decisions along side other smart and shrewd characters making dumbass decisions while the “bad guys” on the main characters side are actually deeply misunderstood and “do good” or have faced “tribulatations” this is also commonly seen in “Diary” or “Inner thoughts” type novels

Such the woes of those who have not delved into the 9th circle of hell known as shitty MTL that makes you want to shoot yourself

If you are referring to the one with Promise as the main character to my knowledge they should be different I caught up to that one and it just barely left the Greece arc which spanned like 200-300 chapters while this one is less than 100 chapters I’ve seen this same one on an mtl site and got them mixed up too but I’m pretty sure they are different
