Captain Xiaodan Xu was used to being ignored.
She was used to late nights hunting down information for reports, quietly delivering requests for information.
She was used to standing in a crowd and watching other people receive accolades.
She was not used to being a hero.
With Commander Zai being carted off to the infirmary as soon as they arrived, that left Captain Xu to bear the brunt of all the soldiers and Council members cheering at her as soon as she set foot inside the cleft of Mt. Dakun.
Zai had asked her to handle briefing General Suleika, but Captain Xu knew there was a lot more that needed to be handled.
Firstly she needed to debrief the Dawnravens; cross-checking their accounts for relevant details to brief the General.
She needed to make arrangements with Colonel Cai to properly handle the camera footage.
