Training space and aftermath

Its been a couple minutes of running further away from the metal scrap yard.

I sit down on a roof top and take a break. The running didn't tire me that much but the fight before did. Rocketeer is the first enemy I've ever faced that was able to Rival me.

His hits without using much power from his thrusters where fast and had equal power to mine. But when he went overdrive he completely outclassed me.

The hits where too fast for me to react in time and the strength behind them where able to hurt my bones. I honestly thought that that kick broke a couple ribs.

If I let the fight continue and used my ki sense rather than my eyes I could have followed his movements and read through his attacks. I could have used it as a better training opportunity to hone myself, and maybe get a zenkai.

But instead I panicked and raged. I carelessly powered up and used all the ki I could to strengthen myself. Now that I can think clearer and reflect on my actions I can see the issues I had.

Without his overdrive I could deliver hits just as fast as his with more power.

Most of his movements where simple and straight forward, but I wasn't fast enough to deflect them and fight back.

No, it wasn't that I physically was too slow.

The issue in both cases my reaction speed was lacking.

If I could react faster then this match would have ended way faster and without the use of ki.

Shit. Ki. I used a ki blast

I grab my head as I felt a small headache coming.

Disappointing to say the least. I lost my cool during the fight and didn't think clearly on how to fight back and instead powered up.

But my feelings at that moment where strange

I lost my cool, but I also got angry at him. Something that I wouldn't do normally.

Oh well. Mistakes that happened the past cant be undone. Rather, I should train in increasing my power level and shortening my reaction speed as much as possible. And the only way to do the second effectively is through combat.

Its not like they saw something that they can directly connect to my identity anyways.

My quirk is registered to be a simple mutation type that gives me monkey characteristics and strengthens me.

Cool, that effectively gives me the ability to refight previous enemies and learn their styles and techniques. Like someone's ki attacks.

But for now I need to buy a simple mannequin. Its perfect for the combat training I need right now.

A couple meters in front of me appears a grey figure around 1.70 meters in height. It is muscly but with a slim built. At touch its body feels exactly like a human, bones and everything. But it lacks all facial features.

I change the power level to 600 and the aggressiveness to aggressive. Since im planning to do reaction speed training I need him to be much faster that me and to be continuously throwing hits.

I should eventually get used to his speed that way.

I create some distance between us and activate the mannequin.

The lifeless body starts moving and bends its legs, hunches its back and spreads its hands slightly to the sides.

A ominous feeling radiates through me.

The mannequin pushes the ground and appears in front of me almost instantaneously. Its fist was already in motion to my face. It was too fast for me to do anything .

Pain envelops my face as I feel my body flying. I eventually hit the ground. The dizziness makes it hard to see and think correctly. But one thing is for sure, my nose is broken and bleeding.

Shit, it cracked my skull that easily? It might be almost double my strength but as a ancient saiyan I should be more durable that that...

Oof. Now that i remember better goku was 14 and looked like he was 7-8. At 17-18 he looked like a 14 year old. I cant be having that. Imagine being in high school for heroes and being a freaking toddler.

300 SP. That's doable, rocketeer was 50 SP. So I would need to beat him 6 times.

I dont have to do it now. I have a lot of time ahead of me. So I'm gonna take my time and train for a couple days to make sure I dont need to use ki again in any fight.

My power level should raise quite fast with this mannequin beating me like this anyway.

My dizziness has worn off and the pain on my skull has mostly disappeared in these couple minutes on the ground.

Ancient saiyan physique is quite amazing, I'm not healed yet but I'm capable of fighting already.

I raise myself up and get to training. The mannequin is activates again.

And my masochist training begins.

I just have to make sure that I go to the orphanage in time...

"My hero name is sonic. I am a student at UA hero high school. My quirk's name is speed-up.

It allows me to move at extremely high speeds passively. So for work studies I opted to work under a speed oriented hero that I looked up to. Rocketeer.

Surprisingly the night we where out patroling we where contacted and informed about a criminal trio moving in a truck. We where ordered to follow and apprehend them with reinforcements coming shortly, but we where quite far away from the truck.

By the time we reached them in the scrap yard a fight had already broken out between the criminals and the vigilante that made his appearance yesterday night.

Rocketeer was interested in the power and the temperament of the vigilante so we didn't intervene in the fight.

Needless to say the vigilante made quick work of them. But since he didn't kill anyone Rocketeer deemed him mostly friendly. Which is quite absurd but whatever.

I was then told to apprehend the run away criminal while he confronted the vigilante.

I dont know exactly what happened between Rocketeer and the vigilante but they started fighting. And rocketeer was clearly winning. His speed was too high and the vigilante was clearly overwhelmed.

But the vigilante adapted mid fight and punched Rocketeer, breaking the middle section of the armor in a single hit and stunning him.

He even evaded a hit midair. He also severely damaged the booster on rocketeers back with a single kick.

This guy was trouble. In that short exchange he had already done quite a bit of damage to rocketeer.

So rocketeer used his ultimate move "overdrive" and completely outclassed the vigilante, being too fast for him to react to the first hit. But he managed to block the second hit.

He also seems to be quite durable. None of Rocketeer's overdrive hits that landed seemed to have any significant effect. At least not visibly.

But when he was thrown in the air there was a small pause before a white flame like layer appeared around him. It didn't stick to him or his clothes. It was hovering around him.

Accompanying the flame was a shout. It felt like a shout from a crazed beast. The sudden feeling of rage he radiated was overbearing and I was momentarily stunned, same with rocketeer I think.

A small shockwave was created in tandem with the appearance of the flame that took of his hood-"

A loud bang sounded from the other side of the room interrupting the young man.

"Stop explaining as if you are tryin to make him look good! Just say a summary of the important parts kid!".

A well built man shouted with annoyance and anger impatiently.

"You where supposed to give us a small summary of the fight. Not the story of the night second to second!"

It was the regional police headquarters, there where many members here of high rank due to yesterday nights events. One of which was the beat down of rocketeer from a new vigilante.

They wanted to get as much info as possible so they brought in the student that was with rocketeer at that time.

Sonic was pushed out of his stupor and started speaking again.

"Yes sorry, let me make a run down of everything after. After the fire appeared he was evidently significantly stronger to before. He overpowered Rocketeer's overdrive punch unharmed. When rocketeer blitzed around him with overdrive he was forced to close his eyes, but he somehow was still able to see from where he was being attacked and countered Rocketeer with ease. I wasnt able to see that well but I think he made a explosion from his hand and greatly damage overdrive, even knock him out."

The people where frowning and being skeptical.

"Anything else? What happened after?" Asked another man on the table.

"The first thing he did after is check on Rocketeers condition, he reassured me that he was ok and then told me to call the ambulance to take the injured rocketeer and the police to arrest the criminals that he beat before. He left after that."

"What about his face? You said his hood fell over." Said the man that interrupted him before, Adachi.

Sonic started thinking trying to remember as many characteristics as possible but he wasn't able to find many in his memories.

"He was wearing a mask that covered up to his nose. He also had a beenie on. So the only thing I saw was his eyes, which where crimson red. Other than that he looked kind of childish. His voice sounded childish too."

The listeners where skeptical. Its not possible that the vigilante was a kid. Clearly, kids cant be that strong. And they wouldn't mess with actual villains and go on night hunts either. That's common sense. Even though the height of the vigilante suggests the same thing, It is impossible to be true.

So the issue that is clouding their minds is how the vigilante has this many different abilities.

A old man also sitting at the table spoke. Horii Iwao.

"So for his appearance, its highly likely that he works with someone whom can change his appearance. The other chance is that its a side effect of his quirk."

His head was supported on his knuckles as he spoke with closed eyes. Just like most of the men where. Lost in thought.

All of them nod their heads. There was no other possibility. In their eyes Horii just stated the obvious.

"But what about the rest? The white flame is a sign of a emitter quirk. His sudden speed and power increase seem like a transformation quirk. While the last explosion could be both a emitter quirk or a transformation." Said Adachii masashi.

"Maybe its a accumulation type quirk? He might be using some sort of energy that he can manipulate in a variety of ways." said another man. Eto Seichii.

The men think over the proposition for a bit. It makes sense. A accumulation type quirk that can make the user stronger, produce flames around them, and even cause a explosion.

"Its possible " said Horii Iwao.

"Its the only possible explanation compared to a single person having 2,no, 3 quirks." Said Adachi.

The other men accept this to be the case. Is there any other way to explain it?

"But I dont think we have enough info to find the exact quirk and nail down the identity..." Said Horii Iwao.

"Hm." grunted Adachi in acceptance.

The other men also agreed.

"Then what about the illegal shipment and this villain factory? It smells like bad trouble." Asked Eto Seichii.

"I can help with that!" says a young woman on the table. Imai Eriko.

She uses her quirk and telekinetically moves the papers and pictures she had ready to every member on the table.

"As everyone here should know, trigger is a drug produced in America which boosts a persons quirk and physical abilities for a short while, forsaking self control to achieve that effect. But its internationally recognized as illegal even before the end product was released. Instead a new version is in production that only helps with some day to day inconveniences like erectile disfunction."

She looks around to check that everyone understood what she said until now and then continues.

"The previous version though is still illegaly produced and sold. Taking into consideration of the shipment contents. The materials required to make the drug, samples of it, and the clearly written recipe of it. I believe that its clear that this alleged 'Villain factory' is trying to research, produce and maybe even improve the potency of the drug.

And considering the name of the organization..."

She takes a brief pause, the meaning behind the words is clear to all.

"They are gonna produce more and stronger villains with it..." Said Adachi, completing her words.

Adachi makes a sudden movement and looks over to the youngest person there.

"You see stupid! That's how you make a summary! What are you even still doing here?! Get lost!" He shouts at the poor student.

"Ok, since my services are not needed here anymore. good luck" says the unfazed student as he takes his leave. He has better places to be rather than hanging around this guy Adachi.

The conversation continues.

"But this spells a lot of trouble. I suggest we place more of our resources on this issue. The production of this drug will certainly create a lot of damage to the country." Stated Eto seichii.

"We dont have the resources to deal with both the drug and the new vigilante, the guy is pretty tough and most heroes have their hands full with villains and criminals running rampart everywhere. Especially heroes with the necessary power required to deal with a guy that can beat Rocketeer bear handed without any known damage. We probably need a party of heroes of similar rank, or to get a hero in the top 20." Said Adachi.

"Then what about we do the obvious?" said playfully another member sitting at the table.\

Everyone looked over to the man. The playfulness in his voice

"Kada Hiroyuki, voice out your idea." said Horii.

Kada looked at him with a mischievous smile and replied.

"Its simple, we dont hunt the vigilante"

He spoke simply, as if declaring the obvious. He was sure that his answer was the best he could give.

Adachi's face wrinkled up with some anger.

"And what?! Let the vigilante run rampart?! We are the law! We dont play favorites!"

Kada brings his hands up and interrupts Adachi.

"You didn't let me explain Mr. Adachi. I'm not saying to completely forget about him or something. I'm just saying that we should not waste any precious resources on fighting someone that up till now has proven useful.

This vigilante is obviously quite strong. And because of his attitude and cooperation with Rocketeer we know that he is most probably on our side. At least we know he wont purposely harm any innocents. And as a vigilante he will likely try to hinder the villain factory as well.

There shouldn't be a issue with leaving him free until we are done with the villain factory. He might even speed up the process of destroying the villain factory group by attacking them solo.

If we sent forces to subdue him, not only would we be using precious resources without being sure of the outcome, but also losing the chance to deal more damage to this dangerous organization.

Nothing lost. much gained!"

Concludes Kada. Most of the men are skeptical but they seem accepting to the idea. Desperate times need desperate measures. And to them the villain factory poses a higher potential threat that a vigilante does.

Adachi doesn't seem to like the idea as he grits his teeth.

"Ok. You wont this mr.Kada. But relay to the heroes in charge of this operation that if they find the vigilante they are to arrest him. He might not be the main objective of the mission but he is still a villain." says Adachi begrudgingly.

The group continues to converse about the measures they are going to take and the methods they are going to use to combat the situation for a while more until they eventually disband.

It took a while to write because i was constantly thinking about some things. Again.

I dint want All might to be involved with the mc this early so I couldn't have the police thinking he has multiple quirks, which would connect him to All for one. All might would have run from the other side of the country and manhunted Igarashi to get as much info on all for one possible. Dont forget, this is previous all might. The guy that wants revenge on All for one because he killed his teacher. And also he is strong AF compared to anime all might.

Another question is: how much will the mcs power level be after the time skip?

And yes the time skip is coming shortly, but dont worry. It wont be too big of a time skip. He doesn't have much to do in this part of the story anyways. I dont know anything about the villain factory and the MHA Vigilantes series. Not a chapter read. So I dont think I can make much content on it.

And dont tell me to go read it. I seriously barely have the time to write any chapters. Im not in the mood to read 13 volumes of MHA vigilante.

I barely even have the energy and time to watch MHA s5.

Im a very lazy person.

I was also thinking on making a joke when rocketeer made his entrance back in the previous chapter.

I was thinking of having him shout "I AM HERE!" like all might and the mc mistaking the voice for all mights. And due to the placebo effect he feels dread and is incapable of running away, so he instead resigns his fate and looks back only to see Rocketeer. So he loses his cool and uses ki to go batshit on rocketeer.

"MOTHER F*CKER YOU SCARED ME YOU ALL MIGHT WANNABE!" type of shit.

But this is just the author mumbling to himself.
