A Fated Meeting (I)

The days pass and I just keep on walking, going north following the route until I reach my final destination.

I'm getting closer by every step, although the more I stop to think about it the farther it feels.

In the middle of my journey I found a city whose entrance was empty. There is no one to be found, no people, no animal, no sound. I wanted to check inside for any clue of what happened.

The sight was very daunting, all the buildings and houses were completely destroyed. It seems there is no inhabitants left... is this the work of one of those beasts? I doubt there is another explanation. At this point I don't think there are any survivors left.

I don't want to resort to this, but I'm low on supplies. With a bit of uncertainty I entered a house that didn't seemed so damaged and went to the kitchen. In the storeroom there were some food cans, it's better than nothing I guess.

In the middle of the hall there was a corpse, someone who couldn't escape and ended up getting crushed by the rubble. I couldn't distinguish if it was male or female, nevertheless I find it strange that it was heading towards the inside of the house rather than the exit. Maybe it wanted to go alert the kids...? I decided to go further to inspect.

There were many destroyed rooms, I entered one that was semi intact. The walls were decorated with pictures of different landscapes like forest, castles and deserts. On what was left of the ceiling there was a ripped world map. In the shelves a couple of models and strange artifacts. On the floor the remains of 2 teenagers crushed by the concrete. It's late, they didn't stood a chance.

One of them was holding a damaged little notepad, it was so tiny that fitted in the palm of his hand. The cover page didn't showed anything that could tell me what's about. Perhaps there are some secrets that this kid didn't want anyone to know? I believe it's strange that he was so attached to this thing before dying. I had to steal this peoples food... maybe if this is some kind of diary I could find out what happened to them and not feel so guilty about it. I decided to take it out of his hands to read it.

To the naked eye it looked just that, a simple notebook. Opening it on the first page I could saw a note: [... guide on Objects and how to deal with their Hol-] The rest was illegible. I turn some pages at random and started reading what it seemed like annotations.

[... how to find them: First, you must discover a specific place that looks haunted. Second, you must call out loud to the one on charge and ask to show themselves. Third, it will ask you if you have enough determination. If your answer is yes, then the challenge will begin...]

... what the hell is this? Is this some kind of urban exploration tutorial of how to summon a spirit, or something similar? I don't think this is enough to die for. Just when I thought I could find some useful information...

"Ahhh! Help!"

Eh? Someone is yelling from the outside? It's a girl's voice, she must be in trouble.

I stored what I was holding on my waist bag and run to the exit.
