3. The first Step

Armed with a class, a skill, and a system he has yet to explore, Micah rushes into the moonlit forest like a hungry wraith, searching the woods, he comes across a level 1 beast. A direbear, even among the lowest levels, this is considered a challenge for new adventureres. Micah, now sporting a gloomy frown, shakes his fists as they burst into flames, his mana new draining slowly. As the light of the flames gives away his cover, Micah sprints out beside the besr as fast as his agility stat will let him go, getting lucky this time, scoring a sharp blow directly to thw dire bear's ribs, feeling several crack as a small fire explosion happens making a small fist sized hole that exposed the ribs and a bit of one lung on its left side. After punching the bear, he dodges and dives for the bushes again, but the bear already enraged from pain was quicker then him. Taking a hit to the back of his right leg, a searing pain following as he rolls several feet before being able to stop and shake off the hit. Scrambling to his feet and ignoring the pain, he takes a look at the back of his leg, the flesh on his calf torn in several places and one wound exposing the bone, he grits his teeth turning towards the bear, eyes slowly alighting, not from fire...but rage. The bear even unintellegent and enraged itself, upon gazing into micah dark roiling and softly glowing eyes, takes a step back, afraid of the young man in front of him. The flames on Micah's fists slowly start shifting in color, from the usual orange flame, to a violent purple, the temperature zeems far less, but a feeling of dread replaces the warmth previously. "now youve done it, you've managed to piss me off!" micah says before bolting forward his blood flying from the room like rain, but far past the point of feeling the pain, micah rains blows on the bear like a cornered wolf, striking whatever he could reach, paw, leg, chest, muzzle, back, slowly the bear resembled a bonfire and with a loud pained, and unwilling howl, the bear collapsed finally succumbing to the wounds after being beaten for several minutes without a chancd to fight back. A young man covered in blood with a leg slowly healing but a scar making itself permenant on his legs, is standing nearby, his chest heaving from exhuasting, the flames on his hands slowly dying out entirely, his mana now fully drained, and exhausted. Micah walks over to the bear, where a small panel pops up, showing the bear can be looted. the panel showing what can be looted shows as such. [common]dire bear pelt x1, [common] dagger x1 , there was no other loot on the bear. After taking his well earned prize he limps to a nearby tree, sitting with his back against it as he closes his eyes, falling into a sort of meditative trance as he rests. One hour passed before micah opened his eyes, his strength returned and his wounds healed enough to continue, he takes stock of what he acquired from the bear curious on why he got the pelt without skinning the bear, and how it dropped the dagger, first he looks at the pelt, the only available information the pop up panels show him is, --is used to craft common leather armor--. Putting the pelt away, micah takes a look at the dagger, the attribute panel opens and he takes a look at the stats --attack 25, pierce +1 --. after a moment of playong with weak dagger he feels satisfied to at least have another weapon, his fists only able to do 10 base damage and with the fire doing 15 minimum with every blow, it takes a great deal to kill tanky creatures like the dire bear. Standing up after a rest, for the first time since coming to the dungeon, Micah takes a look at his own level and stats, what he sees shock him to the core, everyone in the world starts with

level:

strength: 10

vitality:10

agility:10

endurance:10

intellegence:10-20 (this stat changes from person to person but the minimum is always 10)

mana:100

Micah's current stats after just one kill is,

level 3

strength: 20

vitality: 15

agility:15

intellegence: 14

mana: 130

Knowing how most peoples stats only improve one or two from each level and usually taking several kills for level 1 to level 2, he directly jumped to level 3 and gained a huge increase in strength.

strength stat, isnt fully linear but, its usually measured in pounds to be lifted, and pounds able to be used behind a strike, for example, a person with 10 strength can exerr roughly 500 pounds of force, capable of crushing a normal humans skull, with that being said, each pound of strength is not fully linear, meaning the point of strength doesng add fifty pounds exactly, but allows a more qualitative expansion in muscles, so at 11 points of strength, a person may only be able to use 515 pounds of force, but he can now exert it more evenly and in a more fluid way, the difference is subtle at first, but its like if a body builder challenged a grip strength trainer, one can lift a car but can compress his hand as strongly, while the other can exert more force from his fingers, now if both were the same. Now at 20 strength double his original base stats, micah is able to exert roughly 600- 700 pounds of force in multiple ways, than just punches and kicks, with this new information he didnt even look or realize a small box shaped like a notification bell was blinking in his vision the whole time, having around starting walking, unaware that his system was benefitting him in more ways that skills, and a shop.
