The strength of the elite agents is indeed formidable. Even in discomfort and without suitable weapons, Hill managed to deal with the centipede with her precise marksmanship, dispatching the most disgusting caterpillar with a near-fatal shot.
Daisy joined the battle, and unsurprisingly, the big caterpillar was splattered, ultimately losing its life.
Hill, exhausted, supported herself with hands on her knees, panting heavily.
She had no superpowers, and her weapon was just an ordinary Glock pistol. Dealing with such large insects relied on speed, requiring long-term running and fighting, which was a severe test of both mental and physical endurance. Moreover, she hadn't rested properly last night, as she had been thinking about the problem of massage techniques.
Bearing a heavy psychological burden, Hill's ability to win one and draw one was a testament to her rigorous training.
There is the oriental massage technique as a means of communication, although she acted unfamiliar in public, in private, she became more relaxed, showing no reservation.
"How did these things mutate? Do you know?" Hill asked Daisy while recovering her strength.
"It's probably Dr. Pym's research. His Pym particles can shrink the gaps between atoms, so logically, they should be able to enlarge as well," Daisy answered, combining her memory of the plot with her limited knowledge of quantum physics.
"But making these things isn't that easy; it's likely the result of special genetic manipulation."
She recalled that the future Ant-Man had the ability to grow, and the first generation in the comics also had it. Quantum physics, or rather Marvel-style quantum physics, could somewhat explain these abilities.
"These scientists can't stay out of trouble," Hill said, sounding a bit displeased.
Daisy chuckled. Scientists in this world were the source of trouble—stirring up things when poor and continuing to do so even when rich. Regardless of disease, suffering, or disaster, as long as they were alive, they would create big news.
Faint gunshots echoed from inside the building, prompting them to reload their firearms and rush to support.
As they stormed the building, they discovered a battlefield, littered with corpses. The enemies had no identifying ornaments, but their weapons were uniform and they were well-trained. Just by looking at the Black Widow and Sharon being pressed, it was clear that the opponents were elite among the elites.
Facing numerous enemies with automatic weapons and strong firepower, Black Widow and Sharon could only counter with handguns. If not for their exceptional marksmanship and Black Widow occasionally throwing small gadgets, along with their cooperation, they would have been defeated long ago.
The two had to maintain constant movement to avoid being surrounded. Despite their efforts, the fighting circle was rapidly shrinking, and the enemies were entering melee range.
A blue electric glow shimmered on a baton as Black Widow grabbed a strong man's firearm, pushed it aside, and simultaneously slammed the stick into an indescribable area. He didn't even groan, collapsing like a shrimp, unconscious.
Daisy and Hill joined the battlefield at that moment, providing support, and the frontline returned to normal.
"Where's the doctor?" Hill asked while firing.
"The doctor is in the underground facility. We not only have to save him, but we also have to destroy the research data. Otherwise, if it leaks, it will cause even greater chaos," Black Widow explained loudly over the sound of gunfire.
Daisy suspected that the technology had probably already leaked. These well-trained soldiers looked suspiciously like Hydra members, lacking only the distinctive yellow-green uniform. Everything, from their weapons to morale and combat skills, was excellent.
She guessed that if she shouted 'Hail Hydra' at the top of her lungs, the enemies would probably respond enthusiastically, but it would be difficult to explain later. After all, she couldn't say it was just a guess.
The four of them bravely opened fire, and enemies fell to the ground from time to time.
Initially, Daisy was worried about not being able to adapt to such a dangerous battlefield, but after firing a few shots, she felt the joy welling up from the depths of her heart. This body liked to enjoy moving through the hail of bullets, not only not rejecting it but rather eager to try it out.
She couldn't understand why protagonists in movies and TV shows always favored small handguns and never switched weapons regardless of the intensity of the battle.
Daisy picked up an M16 from the ground, shoulders against the butt, firing in bursts with sparks flying from the muzzle, and bullet casings littering the ground, reflecting the deaths of numerous enemies.
Her mind was calm, and her performance was getting better and better. Although her dynamic vision still couldn't see the bullets in motion, she could observe the movements of the enemy's gun and the aiming position, so she always managed to fire a split second ahead, and that half-second difference determined the life or death of both sides.
With her courageous suppression, Romanoff, Sharon, and Hill also got back on their feet. Some were still using handguns, while others picked up enemy weapons. The four female agents surrounded the enemies from four directions.
Their shots were accurate, and finally, they gained the upper hand against these elite soldiers.
As the number of enemies dwindled, the pace of death accelerated, but these soldiers who did not have any organization logo fought to the end. There was no retreat, no surrender.
In the end, all the enemies were killed. The four of them checked the bodies, finding no markings, and the faces under the masks were unfamiliar. There was no identification information. Over a hundred people seemed to have appeared out of thin air.
If they can't figure it out, don't bother. They would report back and let Nick Fury worry about it.
Black Widow led the way inside, with Hill and Sharon following suit.
Seeing her three companions casually discarding their rifles, Daisy originally wanted to collect some ammunition but had to follow suit and discard hers. Anyway, she had her Rhino revolver.
The four of them, seemingly empty-handed, entered the underground facility.
Dr. Pym was behind a door secured with a password. Black Widow attached a bomb to the lock and, with a thunderous explosion, blew the door wide open.
This was Daisy's first time seeing Dr. Hank Pym. The old man had good temperament, with gray hair, and some wrinkles on his face, wore glasses, and looked scholarly.
However, at this moment, the old man paid no attention to her, maybe considering her just a passerby.
He was initially very cautious until he saw Black Widow, at which point he visibly relaxed.
"This lab must be destroyed. That guy stole my experimental results. Don't mind me, go after him!" The old man, having recognized the group, instantly became authoritative and arrogant, as if he were the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Daisy can say that her first impression of the old man was not great. I don't know if meeting the rescuer made him happy, but in her eyes, he seemed a bit crazy.
Black Widow didn't pay attention to the old doctor. In her eyes, the old man was just a mission objective. Whether he was tall, short, fat, or thin, it didn't matter what his attitude was.
She instructed the others, "Daisy, take the doctor out first. I'll go after the enemy. Hill and Sharon, destroy the lab data."
She knew Daisy had things to learn from the old man, providing her with a chance to establish rapport. Daisy immediately accepted the kind offer, grabbing the old man and running out.
