Chapter 4: Going to the Academy

I took one last look at the box full of money and scroll. I took a deep breath and then I closed the box.

( Oh? Weren't you interested in the money?)

I didn't answer, I had tried to wrap up the box with the papers but it was useless, it was as if they were ordinary papers. 'Damn, I should really learn Fuinjutsu , now how am I supposed to protect my money'

(HEY!! DON'T IGNORE ME!!!)

" What the!!..." I looked at the alter ego Orochimaru, wondering where that sudden out bust came from.

"Calm down, would you. I was just trying to figure out how to secure our inheritance" I said trying to pacify the suddenly angry Orochimaru.

( Don't ignore me again... we only have each ) he said with a serious face

I narrowed my eyes at him, finding this whole alter ego thing less and less convincing. But I still nodded and answered " Noted"

I turned back to the box while trying to use the sealing papers to wrap the box, I said "But you know I can't respond to you in public right, I mean, I guess we can play it off as an imaginary friend… but I don't think that will last"

( You don't need to answer, just as long as you're listening)

"Sure...well, I've done my best here" I looked at my now Frankensteined box "well let's just hope the security here is good " I scratched my cheeks as I looked at the metal box- paper monster I just made, seriously it looked like a bandaged patient.

"Wow, it's already dark outside…hey Orochi, are you able to stay up through out the night, I don't really trust the security of these walls, especially considering people can walk on them." I said looking at my ego.

( Wh…What did you call me) Orochi made a funnily shocked face.

" What! It's short for Orochimaru, I mean I can't keep calling you alter ego " I said as I shrugged.

(Then why don't you be Orochi and I'll be Orochimaru) he said as he looked at me with an annoyed face.

"Simple, because I thought of it first" I said with no regards to any form of shame.

Orochi tried to counter argue and said ( Well, then I'll just make one for yo–) but I just cut him off.

"Lalalala!! I can't hear you " I quickly reached for the bed and jumped on it and said, "Come on Orochi, we need to to sleep or else we won't be up early for tomorrow, quit messing around"

Orochi, who was beyond frustrated, said ( Would you just fall asleep so we can both get some sleep) he said this frustrated clearly trying to be the bigger man

"Alright, fine by me" And so I tried to sleep...… 'tried ' being the main result of my efforts, because couldn't with all these crying children.

"Dammit, who died for them to still be crying...…Oh right, orphans got it" I realized my error a bit too late

(...…)

"Shut up " Orochi didn't say anything but I could feel his judgmental stare, but I didn't give him a chance to respond, so I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Tomorrow was going to be a promising day.

*Knock*

*Knock*

A knock woke me up from my lackluster dreams. My dreams were mostly about the memories of kid Orochimaru, which as a four year old wasn't much.

"Theirs not much to use from the memories of a four year old " I said as I stretched shoulders still in bed

(About turning five)

"What?" I raised my brow at Orochi.

( You said four, well we're about turning five) Orochi said

"Does that even mat–"

*KNOCK*

*KNOCK*

"Ah, C–Coming" I said walking towards the door I now remember what today is.

The Orphanage must be taking the kids to the Academy. I quickly reached the door while trying to arrange my long messy hair I can tell maintaining this is gonna be a drag, I opened the door as I was considering cutting my hair.

" Hello, Good morning " I said to the lady in front of the door, trying to act as much as a child as possible.

She looked at me dazed for a moment before she blinked and said, [ Huh?…Oh, eh , Good morning… to you too?]

She seemed flustered by my comment as she gave me a closer look,' Damn it looks like my acting skill are a bit lacking' but luckily she continued the conversation.

[ Ahem, Good morning little guy, I don't want to disturb you during this time but you see today is a special day, the Village Academy is having their yearly entrance test] she gathered herself pretty quickly as she starts talking slowly as if trying to convince a child… which I guess is the case.

" I'm aware of that" I said still looking at her

[ Eh? Yes, well I am here to ask if you wanted to go, but of cause no one is forcing you, you don't have t–] I cut her speech short

"I'll be going " I said

[ Are…are you sure? No one's gonna forc–]

"I'm okay"I cut her off again, Damn, maybe I'm one of those cool savage types.

[Oh, eh… that's great, well I guess we should start going to the oth–]

" I think so to" I said, getting addicted to my savage character as I cut her off.

We walked outside to meet the group, there were three adults and four kids if we included ourselves. Seeing that all children were accounted for we set off.

I guess I've just taken my biggest step yet, let's see how it goes.

But anyway, I would like to thank you all for being able to reach this note. I just want to say it now, I don't have an editor, hence the grammatical errors, but I'll try to cross check before posting, I promise ( ^∆^)⁰

Long story short, this is my first attempt so expect a lot of improvement over time. Also please comment if you can.
