On the Path to Glory

Time-Skip | (538 A.D.) 20 years later...

Life on Asgard has been great. I get to practice magic and fighting. Frigga is the best. But there are some downsides though. Odin basically ignores mine and Loki's presence and favors Thor a great deal. Loki is a loner so I don't even talk to him much. Not that I'm better myself, I don't really have any friends yet. I'm too busy trying to get stronger most of the time.

Speaking of which, progress report. Since I was born, I've been practicing a lot. I learned Occlumency first which improved my emotional control and memory. Frigga was delighted in my interest in learning everything about Asgardian magic. Unlike Loki who was okay with learning only illusions and the mind arts, I wanted to learn it all. Taking advantage of my longevity. My instant mastery works wonders when it comes to learning.

I practiced some of the wizardry spells that I saw in the movies and some other fanfictions. Not only that, but I improved them as well. I evolved legimency to telepathy using Asgardian mind arts. Accio and Wingardium Leviosa became telekinesis. For some reason, elemental spells came easy for me. If I had to guess, I'll say it has something to do with my divinity.

Magic is not the only thing I practice though. Odin makes all three of us practice with weapons often. I'm the best because of my instant mastery. I enchanted gold bracelets for both the arms and the legs so that it is always 20x more gravity than I could handle. With this, I do 500 pushups and situps every morning, jog 50km, and do some martial arts to keep my body strong but lean.

Today is the day we awaken our divinity. Thor went first. Odin muttered a spell then shot a blast of energy from Gugnir. When it hit Thor, thunder boomed from the sky, lightning struck, a storm came. Then Odin announced, "Thor: God of Thunder and Strength!"

The whole hall filled with cheers from the crowd. I stepped up next and Odin did the same to me. Around me, it felt like reality was twisting around. Things started floating or transfiguring. Water came out of nowhere, the Earth started shaking, my body was lit on Fire and there was a strong Wind hitting anyone. Then Odin yelled, "Haldir: God of Magic and the Elements!"

The cheers were less than Thor's when he said Magic. I could even hear some snickers. Aesir really do disrespect Magic. I'll show them. and lastly, Loki stepped up. Nothing special happened this time, "Loki: God of Mischief!" There was some polite clapping but the amusement on everyone's faces was clear. Loki just sneered at them. No surprise Loki turned out the way he did in the movies.

Well, I've awakened my divinity, it is time to start training even more and then I'll begin Phase 1 of my grand plan.
