Charlie

I put up a high ponytail and do my makeup for the party. I start thinking about Nate. He's pretty cute, I'm surprised no one has snatched him up yet. He's not just cute, but mega hot, better than what Zayne can provide. I wear very short jean shorts and a white gypsy crop top, and make my way to the party.
I see Nate in the corner with some blonde dude and an Asian chick. "Oh, hey Charlie." Nate greets.
"Come on Mina, let's go get some food." The blonde dude says.
"You look nice today." I say. "It's nice to see you in something other than an apron" I quickly add.
"Not so bad yourself, Charlie." He takes a sip of punch.

I feel bad. Parties aren't much fun without seeing Brooklyn drunk as hell. Since the last party everything has changed. I have no idea how to treat a girl like Mina, I don't know the first thing about being a good boyfriend. So I keep Mina busy and drive her away from the fact I'm such a bad boyfriend. I look around and didn't notice Nate is gone, so is that girl who came up to us. "Here, have a drink." Zayne says as he sits down, handing me a beer.
"I don't drink." I tell him. "I don't think I ever WILL."
"Shocker." He says sarcastically. I hear a glass break coming from afar, since this is Alices house. It's pretty big. The girl even owns a private island and jet. I go up the stairs with Mina for some alone time until I see Nate around the corner in a long hall. He's sitting on a bench next to that girl. I pull Mina back and we get tangled, it ends with me pushing her against the wall, getting real close. Not a good time for me to make out with Mina. I clear my throat and back up. "It's Nate and that girl." I whisper to Mina.
"What do you think they're doing?" She asks.
"That's What I'm trying to figure out." I say under my breath.
"Charlie, I can't do this," I turn over to the hall and see Charlie sitting on Nate, facing him. "I-"
"Don't tell me you don't want me, Nate. I know you do." She says as she tries leaning in more to kiss him.
"Get the hell off me, right now." Nate says harshly, his voice sounding irritated. "I am in love with someone else less desperate." He reminds her.
"He's telling her to back off." I whisper over to Mina.
"Good, if he ever hurts Brooklyn or does anything to her I will-"
I hear footsteps coming towards us, so I think fast. I quickly turn over to Mina and grab her by the waist, and kiss her. A strong scent of ladies perfume passes us by. The first time it billowed over us.
Nate
I have no idea what to do now. What do I tell Brooklyn? I reach inside my pocket and get the mini box. I open it and take a look at the ring. I'm so sure of this now, Life tried pulling us apart some times, but we just always come back, retracing our mistakes and steps every time until we come back to each other. I havent done a commitment this big, but i'm so sure of it. I walk to brooklyns house which is a house or three away.
"Uhm, hey..." I say, running a hand through my hair as Brooklyn answers the door. She looks like she's been crying for an hour. "Are you ok?" I ask her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"It's not true, please Nate TELL ME," She starts to sob. "Tell me it's not true!" She yells.
"Can you please tell me what you're talking about and I promise to tell the truth." I say pitiful.
She pulls out her phone and shows me a picture, one of me and Charlie. "Tell me this isn't real..." She says quietly.
"It's real," she looks away from me. "But she tried getting with me. I yelled at her and left the party because I love you, and I won't ever stop." I try to redeem myself.
"How do I know you're telling the truth?" She asks.
I didn't know I had to do this so early, but I was planning it all perfectly... But if this gets me anywhere in life, I want it to save me right now. I bend on one knee, holding out the box. "Brooklyn Dixie Navarro, I have loved you since kindergarten. Seeing your face every day and having the blessing of having you in my life has been the best moments of my day and life. So Brooke, If you'll let me, Will you marry me?" I ask.
She starts to cry in happiness, her face getting even more red. "Yes." She responds. I spring up and put the ring on her finger. I hug her and catch the vanilla scent. "Don't tell anyone just yet, I want to tell everyone in person. But I want this between only us and our friends, ok?" I ask. She nods her head and let's me in.

Xavier, Zayne, Brooklyn, Nate, and surprisingly Alice, and I hang out at my apartment. "So why are we all here? And why am I here?" Alice complains. "I agree, why IS Alice here?" Asked Zayne. "Well, Brooklyn and I just have some news-"
"Oh my god, you're not pregnant are you?" I interrupt.
"No," Brooklyn stick out her hand out. I look at the ring and gasp.
"You're joking!" I smile.
"Nope, just last night. I was going to do it after or during graduation... But I was at the edge and needed to be picked up again." Nate looks at Brooklyn dreamily.
"Well congradulations. Im super happy for you guys." I say, grabbing Xaviers hand.
"Well im happy for you both. Even if youre my Ex bestie..." Alice looks down with a smile, but you can tell she feels left out and sad. "Thats why i wanted you here. Alice, I want to start anew. If you want to, I wish to be friends again." Brooklyn asks. Nate stretches an arm over brooklyn as we are all sitting at the living room. "I'd love to." Alice smiles in hapiness. I mean, i guess its time. Its been six months. Im happier than ever at this moment. Instead of five for a few months, There was Six. The Six Of Us.
