Chapter nineteen: let the celebration begin

Heaven Alizah Dianne's pov:

As soon as we got to the hall, everyone bowed and paid their respect to their king. The former king and queen, and the king's sister are also present. "Rise" said the king, everything about him demands and spells authority. "Thank you all, for creating the time to attend this blissful festival. I deeply apologize, for not giving you a queen. I know that you are all disappointed, and l'm using this moment to promise you, that l will do everything l can to make you proud. I will bring you a queen soon. Right now, let's celebrate. Let us celebrate our kingdom's long years of existence, long years of togetherness, and power". As soon as he finished his speech, everyone in the hall roared in response. Then everyone took their seats, and the celebration began. Dancers danced in the center of the hall. This particular dance type is specially danced on the day of the festival. Brothels, fun houses and even cinemas will be displaying this dances. The dancers were wearing crop tops with loose long sleeves and flowing skirts. But despite the beautiful dressings and dancings of the dancers, most of the men eyes are on me. I really hate too much attention. Because l'm the king's handmaid, l'm standing right beside him. After the dancers finished dancing, people went to the dance floor to dance too. It's really boring being the king's handmaid, everyone is having fun, while l am just watching them have fun. "Your majesty" a young man walked up to him, they look so alike. " Jeremy, how are you?" Eugene asked smilingly. "I'm doing well, uncle" the called Jeremy answered smilingly too. "Is there something l can do for you?" , I have never seen the king behave this politely to anyone before. "Yes, l would like to have a dance with your handmaid." Said Jeremy. The king looked at me, and l gave him a expressionless face. Then he looked at Jeremy and nodded his head, giving him the permission. Jeremy smiled, "my lady, may l have this dance?" He said politely. I looked at the king and he nodded again. I went to him and placed my hand in his. And with that we went to the dance floor.

Eugene's pov:

I feel ashamed standing in front of my people, line this. What is the use of having all this power without a queen. I sit down watching then have fun. Samantha isn't here, l guess what l said to her earlier this morning really got to her this time. Just as l was thinking about it, Jeremy came forward to ask Heaven for a dance. I allowed him to, because l know my nephew. He is not a promiscuous type. I just wish the night will come pretty soon. I really want this damn festival to end.

Heaven and Jeremy danced gracefully on the dance floor. Heaven attracted almost all of the men on the dance floor. They are waiting for their turn to dance with her. "So what's your name?" Said Jeremy, "Heaven" she said. "You do look heavenly" he said. I smiled, this is not the first time l've heard that. "You are not a native of Dekrish, are you?" He asked. This guy is really observant , Heaven thought. "Yes, l am not. I am a native of Pictor but l was born in Dekrish" she answered. "I see, no wonder why you are so beautiful" Jeremy said. "Dekrish women are beautiful too" she said. Jeremy chuckled. After another while of dancing, Eugene mindlinked the both of them, to end theit dance. The king's parade around the kingdom will start in a few minutes. And the king wants his personal handmaid to be with him through out the parade.
