Chapter 50 Usopp, Do You Want To Be Our Partner?

"Usopp..."

In front of the villa, Kaya turned her head, a little surprised. A beautiful girl of about seventeen years old stood there. She had shoulder-length short hair, parted in the middle, and a pale blond color. She wore a light blue long dress and a khaki coat. Her complexion was somewhat pale, likely due to her poor health that kept her indoors most of the time.

Kaya's big brown eyes blinked as she looked at Usopp, who seemed to be acting strangely hostile toward Alan and the others. She addressed Usopp with a hint of confusion, "What's the matter with you?"

"He's Mr. Alan, don't you know him?"

Kaya went on to explain, "These are his friends, and they came to ask Merry to help build a boat."

Usopp, trembling with fear and tension, hesitated but continued, "But, Kaya, he's already a pirate, and he's even more ruthless than Captain Crowe. He was offered a reward of 30 million Bailey by Marine..."

As Usopp's voice faltered, he suppressed the fear that gripped his heart. He mustered up his courage and insisted on pointing his slingshot at Alan.

"I read in the newspaper a few days ago that even the straw hat boy is a pirate with a bounty of 15 million baileys, and the pirate hunter has a bounty of 10 million baileys!"

Alan glanced at Usopp with an amused expression. "Is my bounty raised?" he asked, though he seemed largely unfazed by the mention of bounties.

Luffy, who was observing the scene, chimed in with his typical enthusiasm. "If what he said is true, it looks like I've also been offered a reward!"

Zoro leaned against a tree, his demeanor relaxed. "It's estimated that you went too far in Shells Town and caught Marine's attention," he remarked.

Nami, practical as always, sighed, "Unlike those pirates who boast about their bounties, I'd rather not have one at all."

Usopp's words and his trembling demeanor didn't go unnoticed by Kaya. She stepped forward with a reassuring smile, her words directed at both Alan and Usopp, "Usopp, I already knew that. But I believe that Mr. Alan and the others are different from pirates like Captain Crowe."

Usopp, struggling to hold his slingshot steady, was met with Kaya's kindness and Alan's confident demeanor. The exchange between the two reassured him to some extent.

Butler Meli, who had joined the group, added his perspective. "Usopp, don't worry. Mr. Alan and the others should have no ill intentions. Besides, with Mr. Alan's strength, if they wanted to do anything, we couldn't stop them."

Alan, with his enigmatic presence, casually flicked a playing card that effortlessly sliced through a large branch. Usopp's fear deepened as he witnessed the display of power.

Kaya's warm smile persisted, and she reassured Usopp, "Okay, you kid won't think that such a toy can threaten someone like him, will you?"

Alan chuckled, "If I wanted to harm you, your head would already be on the ground."

Despite the tension, Kaya's trust in Alan remained steadfast. She turned to Usopp with a firm tone, "Usopp, Mr. Alan and the others are my honorable guests. Put away the slingshot."

Usopp complied, his fear and uncertainty palpable.

Kaya introduced Alan and the others to Usopp, explaining that they had come to ask Merry for help building a ship. She added, "I believe that Mr. Alan and the others are different from pirates like Captain Crowe."

As the conversation unfolded, Kaya's certainty and Alan's casual demeanor gradually began to ease Usopp's apprehension.

Alan, addressing the bounty situation, explained that his higher bounty was expected due to his notoriety. The Straw Hat Pirates were no longer low-level pirates, and their goals were centered around personal growth rather than mere pillaging.

Luffy, seizing the moment, stepped forward and grinned at Usopp. He remarked on the resemblance between Usopp and his father, Yasopp, and extended an invitation. "So, do you want to be our partner?"

Usopp's shock at the mention of his father's name was followed by a surge of emotions. He looked at Luffy, then at Alan and the crew, and a spark of determination ignited within him.

Kaya's warm smile, the trust of her words, and Alan's unwavering presence all contributed to Usopp's decision. With a deep breath, he met Luffy's gaze and nodded, "Alright, Luffy. I'll join your crew."

The crew erupted into cheers, and Luffy's grin widened. He extended his hand toward Usopp, sealing the commitment. "Welcome aboard, Usopp! You're part of the crew now!"

As the sun began to set, the Straw Hat Pirates sailed into the horizon with a new member among them. Usopp's apprehension had transformed into anticipation, and the adventure that awaited him was brighter than ever before.
