Her First Step

After 20 minutes of travel (thanks to LRT it became faster), she's already in front of the university. With her emotionless face, she stares at the building from the bottom to the top and vice versa.

"So, this is the university?" She doesn't believe what is in front of her now.

The university looks like an abandoned building for many years and was burned for a very long time. At that moment, she's already doubting if this is the right place for her. The place where he will start over again and build her dreams.

Abi doesn't want to waste her time and since she's already there, she entered the university.

On the first entrance, the guard checks her bag and since she's not still an official part of the school, she needs to leave a valid ID. She admits, the entrance is really creepy but there is this weird feeling when she entered the university. She feels the comfort that she's looking for and she feels home. Her heart is beating fast while her mind is opposing what she feels. Right at this moment, she wants to follow her heart.

"This is it, Abi. You can do it. You need to fight for it," she whispers.

When Abi reaches the second entrance, she sees 4 guards near the upstair. When she enters inside, she is astounded by what she sees. This university is a hidden palace. Since she doesn't have her student ID yet, she doesn't need to use the fingerprint and face scanner to enter.

One of the guards guides her upstairs up until the admission office. Abi smiles to the guard as a sign of gratitude before entering the office.

"Good morning Ma'am. I want to get admitted and avail the 90% discount offer for the tuition fee," Abi said straightforwardly.

The lady in the desk is quite a shock and at the same time amazes how Abi approaches her.

"Sure. Please have a seat first and sho me your documents," the lady offered.

"Thank you," Abi said.

"You are from International Business University and you finished the 2nd year level," the lady said while reading Abi's copy of grades.

"Yes Ma'am I am from IBU but I was there up until my 4th year of first semester. I was not able to get yet my transcript of record because of some personal reasons (Abi has loan yet to pay to her previous school amounting to 200,000pesos). Aside from that, the school is 12 hours away from here but I can guarantee you that I'll get it on the second sem," Abi answers with eagerness and sound of desperation since she really wants to get admitted even without really the guarantee that she can pay her previous school on the second semester.

The lady saw how desperate Abi is so she decided,"Okay. Here's what we will do. I will let you get admitted but no longer in the 4th year. Aside from your grades that are not complete, our university also changed its curriculum. So, is it okay for you to start over again?"

Abi doesn't want to delay any more in reaching her dreams so she agreed without hesitation. She went to the process of admission. Get her new minor subjects and she will be kix to different years and courses. She shifted to Financial Management since that's the closest to her previous major. What made her happy is the thought that she is only one enrolled in her course so she can focus without anyone bothering him. But that's if she will have her major subject next school year.

This is the first step in Abi's dream. She's no longer afraid of starting over again at the age of 22.
