The Embers of War

War began in December of the 52nd year of Konoha. The major battle to be held was between Konoha and Suna. The leaders in this war were granny Chiyo and her brother Ebizo on Sunagakures side. On Konohagakures side Tsunade and the current Ino-Shika-Cho trio were in charge of the battlefield. This little skirmish that had been occurring over the past year would now become the site for the beginning of an all out war.

On the border between Konoha and Suna ironically on the site over a chunk of land that had been disputed for ages. Staring across an open field two armies could be seen with each respective villages powerhouse present. Well almost every powerhouse on both sides. The third Kazekage, granny Chiyo, and Sunas jinchuriki were now present. Myself, Tsunade, and Sakumo were standing across from them. This little piece of land would now become the debut of my full on killing spree.

" Watch out for the woman named Chiyo I've been fighting her poisons for a couple of months. I don't know what new tricks she may have with her today."

" She's your opponent Lady Tsunade. I have full confidence she is not your equal. I'm more worried about Rens opponent. Are you sure you can face a jinchuriki Ren?"

" As my instructor shouldn't you be instilling me with confidence instead of doubts? Not to mention are you sure you can really handle the Kazekage?"

" (deadpan) I have full confidence in you Ren. Fighting!… as for the Kazekage, I'm really counting on you two to defeat your enemies quickly."

" Ahhh well then… Kakuzu how much do you want for the Kazekages head?"

Behind me Kakuzu stepped forward.

" If I get his heart I'm willing to make it free… bonuses would be appreciated however."

" The guys not a pushover Kakuzu. Take him out in the next three days and I'll give you a hundred million Ryo. Intact body and you get two hundred million."

" As your treasurer I'm concerned with such an amount being casually thrown around. As the future recipient however I think it would be allowable."

" Ahem…as your instructor I think it's only fair I qualify for the prize."

" What happened to waiting for back up?"

" That was then this is now. Did I not teach you to not be so petty?"

" I hope your son doesn't learn to always act cool like you. As his uncle I will lead him to the righteous path in your place."

" As his aunt ill make this clear Ren. If you teach him your so called art of being a gentleman of culture I will rip you to shreds."

" Then again acting cool isn't a problem…."

Kakuzu and Sakumo could only think this little lord would be forever controlled by his wife. Shikaku Nara on the other hand could only appreciate Rens attitude toward his wife. More than that he appreciated that the battle leaders were standing forward and casually being loud enough so the shinobi behind them could be at ease about the upcoming fight. Working with intelligent leaders that let him do a lot less work was great.

" Shikaku my kunais are spread around right?"

" Yes lord Ren. I'm sorry I should say Prince Zuko."

" Don't worry about the theatrics anymore. Just keep everyone you can alive."

With a flash I had disappeared. A look of shock appeared on Sunas leaders who immediately became alert. Eventually they managed to find me… standing in the middle of their forces.

Popping out from my back appeared a set of chains. In my hands a long bone spear could be seen. With a twirl of the chains on my back a massive fan of death cut people around me in half. In the blink of an eye a mass of blood appeared on the battlefield. After my little death fan performance the bone spear in my hand than flew into the air.

With this simple action a rushing tidal wave of shinobi clashed with one another. Jutsu flew everywhere, kunai and shuriken littered the ground. Corpses followed soon after.

Sakumo was swinging his White Light Chakra Sabre left and right. Using his white light blade jutsu he was akin to a farmer cutting away the crops. The mass of corpses around him were no less than my own. Dodging the lesser ninja seemed no problem for him to the point you would believe the guy had either a secret Byakugan or Sharingan operating. He danced around the battlefield reaping lives like a man possessed.

Tsunade had decided to confront her nemesis Chiyo. Rapidly dodging her enemies puppets and punching and kicking away as many as she could it looked like she was struggling. Unfortunately no one could step in to provide assistance on both sides. The massive craters with bloody mulches around their battle made clear no others could provide aid to Chiyo. Chiyos use of the White Secret Technique: The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets also cut Tsunade off from any aid. The battle between the two women soon became a forbidden zone for both armies weaker ninja.

The third Kazekage and his uncle were no fans of mine. They immediately closed in on on my position after the bone spear flew into the air. Unfortunately for them thunder god kunai littered the battlefield. With that my teleportation across the battlefield creating little circles of death avoiding two very pissed off assholes using massive waves of sand and iron sand occurred.

Eventually a signal of some sort was given to the jinchuriki of the one tails, Seto. Seemingly a retreat order was made on Sunas side, an action that Shikaku noticed and had Konoha do the same. With that the real nightmare on this battlefield appeared. The eighty meter tall one tails had decided to join the battlefield.

" Isobu I'm going to need your help with your little brother here."

" This young one demands an hour of swim time."

" Give me a few seconds."

With a clap of my hands it was my favorite jutsu time.

Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave

Looking from a far Tsunade was mad. She began to yell at the top of her lungs.

" Crap. Everyone run!"

The little outburst confused Chiyo who soon thought this was a perfect opportunity to strike. Curiosity spare her however. Looking behind her in response to the sound of water in her ears. The massive tidal wave that could be seen made her eyes go wide. It rapidly became clear why Tsunade dared to show her back to an enemy. Soon the two women were running away together side by side, there was no eternal enemies in such a situation.

Similar scenes appeared around the battlefield. Regardless if the mass of water was not enough to clear out the battlefield. The towering one eyed turtle that appeared above the new lake made it clear this was no longer a battle for small time shinobi. Two massive beast began to collide against one another.

Isobu and I had a level of cooperation the one tails and it's jinchuriki didn't have. With out a mass of sand being easy to gather in the sea of water a one sided beating was taking place. Shukaku made multiple attempts to trap Isobu but could only meet with Isobus sonic the hedgehog trick that would rapidly throw him off. A trick I would compliment by using my adamantine sealing chains to try and bind the jinchuriki with in Shukakus torn apart body.

Of the massive inheritance handed over to myself and Tsunade by Grandma Mito, the adamantine sealing chains technique was my favorite. Integrating the cloned Kushinas heart was one of the smartest decisions I've made in my transmigrated life.

While the battle between tailed beasts raged, the original battle had also escalated. Kakuzu and Sakumo were embroiled in fighting the third Kazekage. The strange fervor in their attacks made it seem to everyone else like the two had an extreme grudge with the man. Tsunade had summoned Katsuyu and was providing medical aid to the entire battle field. Chiyo in response was scattering poison and making several attempts to kill Tsunade with her puppets. The fight between the lesser known ninja was even more fierce than the high end ninja.

A Konoha genin could be seen stabbing the broken bone sticking out of his torn off arm into an enemies neck. A rank and file Uchiha was burning a man alive with the Uchiha signature great fireball jutsu. Suna shinobi who specialized in wind release constantly aimed at slitting throats but settled for slicing off limbs. Puppets would rush enemies and either stab them or decide to explode into shrapnel. A fight with modern weapons seemed tame by comparison.
