Fighting Each Other

In front of her sat six people that were pretty close to her in the best. One of them being her maid that she used to rely on for a lot of things and the others were her friends. "One face here I didn't expect though." Out of all the people, one woman that was here was a surprise. Her name was Liandra and it was someone that she had never got along well with in the past. They had gotten into fights and other silly arguments over decisions that would affect the City and its people. "She tended to agree with Landel..." Which led Lexia to instantly think she was most likely a spy sent by Landel.

"There has to be something else to it, it's just to obvious."

It was something to keep an eye on at least and the others were fairly trustworthy. Lexia quickly made sure none of them were hurt as she asked them about their plans. Even though she had wanted them to be free there was no way she would keep them here if they wanted to leave. Lexia was on the losing side and only people out of their mind would help her. "Which of you will leave?" Telling them they were freely allowed to leave without any trouble she waited for all of them to walk up and walk away. No one moved for a minute as she observed every single one until one of them flinched.

"Oh?"

Everyone was probably afraid to make the first move but once it happened the rest would crumble. One of her old friends who worked in the ministry hesitated for a quick moment before standing up. Not even able to look into Lexia's eyes he turned his face as he thanked her for the help. She had helped free him from that prison however he couldn't pay her back. He was getting too old for these kinds of things and still had a family to take care of. If he died in a losing war they would be without a Husband and Father. It wasn't an easy decision yet it was something he had to do.

"I'm sorry Lexia as much as I'd love to help you, I just can't. I owe you a great deal but I also owe my family more. I don't wish for my kids to grow up without a Father. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from."

His voice shook as he waited to be yelled at or treated like a scum for abandoning her. It never came though as he turned his head slowly back to Lexia. "She's pissed." Lexia sat there with a calm smile as she looked at her old friend and nodded. He had his own reasons for things and it was already enough that he tried to stand up for her. She refused to lock him down here with guilt or anger and instead let him go with a smile. Was she a little sad that he wouldn't stay? Of course but that wasn't enough to change anything. Met with her smile he bit his lip and walked away, if he didn't leave now there was no way he would be able to later.

"I'm...sorry."

"It's okay Kale, I wish you good luck. Thank you for everything."

With Kale gone she expected to see more people walk away yet no one else got up to leave. Raising an eye towards them she felt a couple tears form in her eyes. "Thank you." Left with four people and a potential spy Lexia clapped her hands together. Since they all wanted to help, that was great. Xilo took a step inside after watching Kale leave. Peeking his head inside in the room he was beckoned over by Lexia. Taking a seat he asked about the man who left. "Ahhh." Agreeing completely with Lexia he introduced himself to the others.

"Hello everyone, You can call me Xilo. I suppose you can call me the leader of the people of the ones who saved you. It's nice to see you all and to have a few more friendly faces around."

Waving at all of them Xilo went silent as he let Lexia take control of the conversation again.

"Xilo is also my friend so treat him just like me."

Talking with each other, Lexia wanted to figure out what happened while she was gone from another source. She had her spies of course but they couldn't get everything. The people gathered here were a bit more privy to information. Asking them about everything Lexia's eyes fell on Liandra. She was the most quiet of the group and difficult. Lexia didn't really know how to treat her just yet. Most of the time when she asked her any question she just answered with a simple yes or no. Never going any further than that which made Lexia confirmed her suspicions. Xilo on the other hand didn't know any of Lexia's thoughts as he watched their interactions.

"Uhm, Liandra was it? Is everything all right, you seem like you're not really into the conversation. Is there something on your mind?"

Lexia winced as she heard Xilo step in without a clue, she couldn't blame him though. As awkward as it was, it was also something she wanted to know. She just had enough understanding to not ask that kind of question to her. It would only leave her with more stress and fighting. It was best just to ignore her and keep her on a tight leash instead. Liandra heard Xilo as she looked his way. Her eyes twitched a tad as she listened to him. Someone she didn't know was trying to assume something about her. Even if he did help save her it still rubbed her the wrong way.

"Everything's perfectly alright Mr.Xilo. Why don't you mind your own business instead. Something like seen not heard, isn't that right?"

Instantly Lexia knew that this wasn't going to end well one way or another.

Enjoy.
